I've said it before and I'll say it again: developers, most of us have internet, and all the free porn that entails. Please stop dressing your characters like strippers.
I see Russel the Crow has made another appearance.
O hai generic mc bland. | |
Obsidian are developing it? ...I think I may be waiting a while before buying it. Just to see what bugs it comes with.
At 0:48; Angelina Jolie much? Anyway, despite loving the first Dungeon Siege, all this doesn't really grasp me a lot.
Bayonetta + Devil May Cry + Tomb Raider + Morrigan
Gotta agree. As a character with a mix between magic and physical attacks I really expected some more actual melee than "Oh, I'll just go dual pistols because clearly NO ONE has done tha up close before". It's disappointing. It shows why Obsidian aren't exactly looked well upon. "Katarina" screams way too much of a focus upon "ranged", even up close, than to pose as a character who walks the balance between the two schools of attack. NOW, if she was attacking more like Gene from Outlaw Star, it might work, my opinion though.
One the one hand, it's by Obsidian, on the other hand, it's by Obsidian.
This looks absoloutely terrible. I had enjoyed the first two games, but I think it's time to let the series go for me.
Thing is, she isn't.
You must have Katarina confused for Anjali. The later is the one who mixes physical and magic, with a melee stance where she wields a staff or a spear, and a fire elemental stance where she hurls fireballs at a distance as her primary attack and casts various fire spells (column of fire, fire jackal invocation).
Then its positive that this IS an Action-Rpg isn't it?
wow this looks so freaking awful i mean absolutely zero new ideas
*yawn* Wake me when they make a Dungeon Siege game that ISN'T riddled with tropes and cliches.
I'm willing to give this a chance. Can't be worse than DA2 :D Love the art style, though the animation could be more fluid. Oh and devs, keep the cheese coming. Most of us guys appreciate nice looking females in our games. If we want boring, we'll go for a stroll outside :)
Lol game developers love their characters doing that "gun-fu" crap don't they? Also idk why this is but it always bugs me when a character grips a rifle improperly too near the trigger, I now i'm splitting hairs but it just looks silly.
I'm sorry, did someone say Katarina?
The one from DS doesn't have Spiky Spikes of Spiky Doom, nor does she have a boobs window. And she doesn't pretend going into close combat with that ineffective of an armor, since she doesn't do close combat and has magic to protect herself. From the Lead Designer :
Katarina's model (from the first seconds of the video) in color, if people are interested : And the one for Anjali, for the people who think that all the female characters won't wear armor :
..tropes..? ..um..so when did I see something like this the last time.. Let's see... Warlords, if you combine Pagan and Tech? -_-
*cough,cough* Cheap sex appeal. *cough*
Seems decent enough, along the vein of the usual DS, Diablo, etc.. The animations and movement was a bit stilted and jerky though. Hope that's going to change, or be moddable.
setting looks interesting. characterdesign are no worse than most games today. animations looks meh.
Possible modding would raise my expectations for this game tenfold, but I wouldn't count on it.
Game still looks fun. Hopefully the gun combat will have a similar feel to that found in Torchlight where everything went boom very satisfyingly. As for the look of the character, it's just one so you can't really judge that the whole game will be sweaty-nerd pandering. The other female character looks pretty well armoured-up, and so it seems more a character choice as opposed to "Hey Tits!". I'm sure there'll be a guy who runs around trying to blind people with his nipples and six-pack. The only thing I don't like is the jiggle physics. This is something that should die out for every game except the DOA ones (as where would they be without it).
Eh I don't think Ill ever be picking it up. Little cliche for my taste. But it might be really good who knows. /shrug
High heels, the bane of any serious action-character design.... I'm sad now :(
