I loved that trashcan bit to.

I'll be honest, I got chills down my spine when they said "Now mr.Stark"

So many movies to see this summer.

I'm British, and I'm pretty anti-nationalist or even patriotic (Not just for this country, but in general), and I am bouncing off the walls waiting for this film.

Sorry, but it looks so damn good. Cap is a fantastic character. It's easy to sell him off as a patriotic figurehead, but he's so much more. The casting, the art direction, the storyline... it all just slots into place. It's gonna be awesome.

We have Thor out very soon, which, while it's first trailer lacked that certain something, managed to grab my attention with it's second one. And then Green Lantern, and it's going to be fascinating seeing DC try and push another of it's much misrepresented cast into the limelight. Is asking for a Flash or Martian Manhunter film too much to ask for? Wonder Woman is absolutely perfect film material, as is Green Arrow, but never gonna happen I think.

What Marvel studios have done with this Iron Man/Thor/Cap continuity is amazing. THESE are comic films. Everything that went before were just films about comic heroes.

I I don't get press tickets to this, I just might cry...

Sorry but after MvC3 I really love shouting the lines, mainly Cap's and Doom's. I also became more interested with them as well.

Back on topic the trailer overall was very good. I do think pre Cap Steve looks more sickly than puny. And as for Cap using a gun I actually approved. I mean he is a soldier at war, it seems only appropriate he carries a firearm.

This is how you make a good trailer. Cap had every potential to be really, really bad but this makes me SUPER hyped. I'm really looking forward to this

I haven't been this psyched to see a superhero movie since Iron Man 2. If Thor, Iron Man 3, and the next Incredible Hulk can keep up the energy of the previous movies then the Avengers movie will probably be the biggest undertaking in film since...oh hell, it'll be the biggest undertaking in film period.

Well, they made 1940s Bucky closer to Cap's age in the Ultimate universe, because not everything the Ultimate universe did was bad (like Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury). And I've read some of the original 40s Captain America comics--the level of violence they let a 14-year-old boy involve himself in then wouldn't fly today.

Minor Pet Peeve: Were the Invaders solely an Anglo-American team? No other Allied nation members? Not one Canadian, Australian, Free French, Free Poles, nothing?

The trailer is infinitely better in 1911-o-vision.

When you say "Long story" I har "Potential Big Picture Episode"

This one is by far the comic movie I'm the most excited for, and I'm a Green Lantern nut.

Um, it had Namor, who's Atlantean. Does that count?

Going to be good! Thanks for the background info, Bob.

Quick note, Zola is not from sweden, he's from F'ING SWITZERLAND!!!
NIAGH!!

(Arnim Zola: Swiss, not Swedish.)

I am so psyched for this! I knew reading comics wasn't a waste of time!

I never really got into comics as a kid or even as I got older, but dayum if Bob isn't making me get excited for this movie, and for Thor and this whole Avengers thing. It looks like its gonna be awesome!

Thos three guys you saw shooting at 52 had another appearance in the trailer, later on if you pause at 1:58.

MovieBob:
Quick memo to all the lovely, not-at-all-mentally-unsound folks who still won't shut up about the vapid Battle: LA - this is what patriotic action/sci fi looks like.

It's easy to make a patriotic action movie that takes place in World War II.

For more modern-setting patriotic movies, I think Harrison Ford has it covered pretty well with "Clear and Present Danger", "Air Force One", and to a lesser extent "Patriot Games" as well.

"Independence Day" was everything that "Battle: LA" tried to be.

I hope they're still keeping the "Cap's secret wetwork guy" storyline for Bucky Barnes. That would make the dynamic so much more interesting.

I thought it was looking pretty good.. and then I saw the shield throw and I starting planning when I'd get in line to buy tickets.

I am literally squealing like a teenage girl at a boy band concert at the repeated mention of Union Jack.

I don't think I'll be able to live past this year, due to the massive amounts of awesome it will be throwing at me.

I was going to say "Final Justice" Oh well. I wonder if bob knew that "Stars and Stripes" was the name of cap's shoryuken like attack from the capcom fighters he was in.

There were other teams in operation during WW2 based comics, such as black hawk and his squadron of elite pilots, who basically annihilated anything that was german and flew, they were made up of various european pilots at least one of which was polish. Wonder if they'll get a nod in the movie?

The original team had a half human- half Atlantean, Namor the Submariner and an android, the Human Torch. They retroactively added several other heroes, but I think they were overall pretty white, with the exception of Wolverine who was at the time Jim Howlett and a member of the Canadian special forces. Captain Canuck and Major Maple Leaf didn't come around till the 70's, I actually don't know any Australian Super heroes, though I wouldn't be surprised if that runs as a mini-series like they did with "Red, White, and Black" the story of the African American test subjects that pre-dated Steve Rodgers.

Comics are WEIRD.

They're DC and fight along side the Justice League. They guest stared in a time travel episode of "Justice League" though somehow some are still alive. Also that comic is shockingly racist by today's standards.

I believe that "retro stealth fighter" is the Northrop YB-35.

As I said in another thread I'm looking forward with caution towards this movie. If it's about, say, a super-solider made by an army to fight in a war then fuck yeah, this is going to be awsome. If it's about a man gloriously upholding uniqely american virtues in the only war that mattered that americans won then no thanks, I've already seen those movies.

In other words I'm fine with movies about american patriots, but I'm sick to death of american patriotic movies.

MovieBob:
ARNIM ZOLA, an associate of the Red Skull. ITC, he's a Swedish mad scientist

Argh. The Swedish/Swiss mixup! It burns us! :D

Seriously, if you want to find a way to get as many Swedes as possible joined in annoyance, that's they way to go. Call them socialistic automatons or whatever and you'll always get some group angry while it's like water on a duck for most, but if you're aiming for an evenly spread "Stupid American" sentiment then that's the way to go. :P

This article is unfortunately timed XD

But anyways, the trailer is nice.

Switzerland is not SWEDEN!, now that I have done my part as a member of the swedish pitchfork-mob; I thinkit willbe interesting to blend superhero stuff with normal-world stuff.

I think it's more in the line of the jet-powered Horten Ho 229.

The Nazis were way ahead of everyone else...

TLJ says "they will personally escort Adolf Hitler into Hell", not "...and I will". And this makes me want to go watch The Incredible Hulk again.

One question, will the movie end like we all expect it to? You know, frosty?

I'm more of a superhero movie, rather than comic book person (for the moment) and this looks a lot of fun.

However, it was weird to see a superhero use a gun. I guess I'm too used to the "hero can't kill people" style of superheroes. But a welcome change of pace nonetheless :p

And they will end the whole super hero movie deal the same way they ended my interest in Marvel Comic books, Marvel Zombies. Just wait for it, they can't wait to sell out to nerd hype.

Captain America is a champion of what America is supposed to be, not what it is. As shown in the Civil War arch and some other bits, he is not "America is always right".

Im looking forward to this.

Edit: To those who saw, removed something since I am wrong bout that :P
