The only person I will be talking to is my girlfriend come Nov 11th...
but will there be cross bows? I MAY creat a ranged character (who also uses daggers) but cross bows mean I WILL make one. also if I drop an item and the person who picks it up tries to give it back can I tell them I dont want/need it and they can keep it if they want?
Looks pretty good! Also: ...is this? An orc or a goblin?
Yep. I'm never going to leave the house again after 11/11/11. I'm so excited!
Looks awesome, but I am not digging the look of those ruins. Too bland. Daedric pl0x. And the ecology system sounds awesome. That'll add whole 'nother level of immersion to the game, one that I wouldn't think up in a lifetime x3
I assume an orc, goblins are smaller in both Oblivion and Morrowind, not to mention a whole lot less civilised. I guess the real question is why he's holding a Riekling blade oO at least that's what it looks like...
Skyrim sounds as awesome as I imagined it would be from all those years playing the other Elder Scrolls games. This will likely be the last thing I read about the game to ensure that nothing is ruined for me. It is the only game I have ever pre-ordered (and one of the few that I've payed retail price for) and after playing it, my life will likely be complete. I do hope it doesn't have unreasonably high system requirements, but from what I read about the graphics, that might not happen... BAHHH I CAN'T FUCKING WAIT BAHHH
"add a little English to your strikes" sword -> swourd
So... will the Khajiit & Argonians still have the lame, streamlined legs of Oblivion? Or the fancy backward knee-legs of Morrowind? A small gripe of mine, but it's still on my list of "Why Morrowind is better"... not sure why I bring it up now...
This game sounds awesome. Then again, The Elder Scrolls is my favorite game series and Bethesda one of my favorite developers. I think this game will live up to, if not surpass, what we think of it.
" took thirteen pages of notes during last week's two hour Skyim demo" Obviously all of those notes didn't include the name of the game... haha...im kidding...good summary hopefully the game will come through on all the great things without drowning in bugs
Basically shit my pants when I saw the Khajiit and Orc. This game is going to fucking rock.
And once again, a TES game becomes the driving force behind my next PC build. Thank you, federal income tax return... EDIT: Also, I am strongly considering playing a Khajiit for the first time. That pic is pure 100% unadulterated bad ass. EDIT the EDIT: Another thing... did anyone else notice that the orc is blind in one eye? Without mods?
They better release a set of minimum and recommended PC specs soon, so all of us can start saving up. My laptop is likely to burn itself into a crisp playing this.
I quite agree! :D I like the look of things thus far It really sounds like it's shaping up to be quite a gaming experience!
just sounds like a hype-building article.... well oblivion actually lived up to the hype for me; different than morrowind, but awesome in its own right, so MAYBE skyrim will be the same, but i wont count on lighting striking twice. the 'dynamic' leveling really has me worried; oblivion was more than dynamic enough, and understood that even in sandboxes you need some type of leveling framework; skyrim is sounding more and more like the failure of a leveling system that is the fable games, advancing you however the game damn well pleases because you fight nothing but zombies for 2 hours and melee is monumentally better than any other attack option. what they want to do seems to be impossible; most players (well i do...) already know what kind of general character they want from the get go; if you need hours of gametime to decide what 'class' you want, either that will just highlight the imbalance between playstyles and players will end up using one style not because they like it but because its the most useful for whatever limited situations theyve been in, or the game is so balanced that they remain indecisive forever, falling into the same trap all 'dynamic' leveling systems do anyway: leveling as the gameplay demands, not as the player wants.
Could I be any more excited for this game? I didn't even know I could be this hyped, but damn it, Steve Butts, you just pushed me into squealy fangirl overdrive! I feel like I'm going to turn into Eric Cartman waiting outside the store in the cold months before it even comes out.
UGH I don't have time to play this game everrrrr but I will, until my eyes bleed. Honestly you had me at TES. Thats kind of sad.
I knew I would be getting this game, but dammit, I'm pre-ordering this the second I have the cash to.
so the "way of the voice" or whatever is an ancient nord secret, another thing, they say it's a classless game,
This game.... I'm at a loss as for what to say. I only pray it turns out to be as stunning as I'm expecting.
You mean the Argonians canonically loose the ability to breathe underwater and immunity to all poisons or the Orcs which are an inherently larger species than the others posseses the same strength as a Wood Elf half its size contradicting the pre-established lore of the previous games?
I have only this to say to you: DRAGONS!Otherwise, I'm super excited. Bloody thing is coming out two weeks before my exams, so I'll have to wait for it though :P Even if the radiant system is a load of crap, I'm still pumped for this.
That gives me the mental image of the Emperor sitting around just reading a book, then a drunk guy suddenly coming along and pissing on to the open pages.
Although, unless he's an Altmer/Dunmer (and for Dunmer it'd still be a stretch), he'll be long dead, since it's 200 years after Oblivion.
Too true. For example, Skyrim's going to be good. I'm so looking forward to this. Even more than I have been for Portal 2 or The Witcher 2. Going by that description, though, I just hope the game doesn't assume you're going to be a generalist. I hope there will be particular benefits to specialising. Unlike in most RPGs, where I prefer to be a straight-up mage, in Elder Scrolls games I like to specialise hard in lockpicking, stealth and archery with a little healing magic on the side. I'd really like this to remain a viable playstyle in Skyrim.
Not an image board dude, put some thought in there. But on that note I already have my Witcher 2 Collector's Edition preordered, but none the less extremely excited for this game; you don't have to hate one and love the other
Is it wrong that when I read "Hello, I hate you", I immediately thought of a spade? (internets for the reference(don't have any cookies)) Also, "add a little (Lord) English to your strikes". Anyway, looks to be shaping up to be a very enjoyable experience. Looking forward to it.
In order to compensate for a likely buggy and un-optimized engine, expect PC requirements to be somewhere north of Saturn.
Oh God, not giant spiders :(
Sounds pretty good, though I fear my laptop will explode from the graphics alone, so I'll probably get a PS3 version.
I'm sorry, I guess that was a bit childish on my part. What I meant to say is that I'm really glad that there are so many potentially great RPGs coming out this year that I don't have to put up with Bethesda's bullshit in order to play a good game. I'm going to try out Skyrim, but the moment I see scaling eneemies to my level or fetch quests that take me across the known world the game is going right trough the window.
Man, I am gonna have to sell some shit to upgrade my PC! This game looks epic, I mean even Escapist is doing previews five months before release! I can't wait!
And now with the Kahjits & orcs lookin all badass and stuff, they keep you playing a nord? That'll be the biggest kicker of the game, calling it now.
I might have to pull a Cartman
Anyone got an idea of what 9950x4@3GHz will allow me to run like with Skyrim? Based on Gamebryo, I fear for this thing getting like 10 frames per second or something unplayable like that.

So pumped for this. November is so far away!
