Most Anticipated Games of 2011 Pages PREV 1 2 3 4 NEXT
I got my eye on Saints row the third and 'from dust' - which hasn't received much news but anyone who's seen the trailers will know it looks pretty damn good and original.
And for anyone looking into freeware - Project Zomboid has plenty of creativity and potential. Just look about and you'll find plenty of others. That all said 'Modern warfare 3' did make me throw up a little. So I can see where you're coming from. Ah the industry isn't dead yet - you just need to look through all the shit a bit then you'll see the shiny gems like Saints Row 2 which make bored old shooters an amusing joke.
I do agree that most of the games there look good and they have the production value behind them, but I've had enough shooters for a long time.
Needs more Space Marine.
Page 6 (Dark Souls) and Page 13 (Skyrim) That is all... (No Disgaea 4 love? Sad...)
Only one out of all those games am I actually looking forward to, that was a bit disappointing
- Deus Ex: Human Revolution Can't wait for the FPS craze to end so I don't have to waste money on games anymore, 'cause all these titles just breathes "All of my money! Take it!"
Skyrim | |
Halo CE, Revelations and Skyrim are the only ones the interest me. Good old Ezio: Ezio Auditore Da Firenze, making people stab their own friends since 1511.
Because Zelda is an established videogame series beloved by many which consistently produces high quality games. That's not to say Space Marine will be inferior to any of these titles, its just not as highly anticipated.
First thing I noticed, too. And of the two that aren't sequels, one is basically Dead Rising: Spring Break Edition (yay more zombies, because if there's anything we don't have enough of yet...), and the other is a post-apocalyptic shooter (oh wait, that's what we didn't have enough of yet). I'm sure at least some of them will be fun, but that's still pretty ridiculous. What's kind of funny, though, is the prevalence of the number 3 in the list. Not surprisingly, Valve is nowhere to be seen.
Oh poop. Well better I know, I guess, and save myself some disappointment.
Deus Ex officially has me as giddy as a school girl. I'm not even going to look at the others until I play that one.
Revelations, Skyward Sword, and maybe Arkham City and Saints Row the Third, but the first two are the only ones I'll be buying soon as I can. The others I'll Gamefly first.
Pity Mass Effect 3 has been pushed back till March 2012. Otherwise that'd basically be my only game. Otherwise, yeah, I've got a pre-order for Deus Ex HR, BF3 will be extraordinary, and Skyrim should be pretty good, everything else will be crap imo.
First thing I notice is that everything after the middle of October is at least a sequel. How dull. The next is that I can point out instantly the games I think will be rushed and/or disappointing. I refuse to get excited about an upcoming release too much any more; I got badly burned by Smash Bros. Brawl. Not that that should stop anyone else, mind. One thing that is interesting that I swear quite a few of these games were only announced earlier this year/last year, is the development schedule for a top-quality title that fast now? (Even assuming that they were in development before their official release)
My too buy list. Will Buy May buy
Gears of War 3, Skyrim, Batman Arkham City, Modern Warfare 3 (I want to see what happens to Soap and Price)
Skyrim and Gears 3 - can't wait for either
Looking forward to Uncharted, Revelations, and Arkham City, but this list is missing Max Payne 3. WTF?! It's still coming out in 2011, isn't it?
Seriously OP, your missing a pretty big game that's not a sequel....
One more game that a lot of game websites tend to forget, since they already played a different version of it: The Witcher 2. The console version is coming out around November. (Woohoo!)
Am I the only one who never sees anything in the christmas (nov/dec) list? Ima buy Deux sex, Catherine and Batman. To me the greatest titles arrive either before or after the holidays (Bioshock Infinite!).
There is a disturbing lack of The Old Republic on this list. I assume it's because this is only listing games that have confirmed release dates... but still! Shame on you, escapist.
My list: Dead Island The rest are meh. But those three I'm really looking forward to (especially SR3)
So it's pretty much the same reasons Space Marine should be on the list given the high quality Dawn of War series? Seriously I'm pretty sure more people care about Space Marine then an elf in tights.
Waitwaitwait... Insomniac's latest demo only had an assault rifle and a magnum??? That doesn't sound like Insomniac at all... Did the magnum at least still shoot high explosive rounds?
If Dark Souls was on PC... ehh.. I would've looked forward to Battlefield 3, but I'm not sure there was more than a year since Bad Company 2. I mean... come on. Oh, and since I recently bought and finally got to play Assassin's Creed Brotherhood... I want Revelations. Since I know it's coming on PC... The multiplayer AND single player in Brotherhood are magnificent. Can't wait for more. Shame it's the last game...
Que the wall of fan bitching for and against the games and the people who are just here to go "sqeeeeee" about their favorite. I know its the only good response to a story like this but it still bugs the hell out of me. (why is there even a comment section here?)
God, I'm looking forward to that game. MANLY FANCY.
No Ace Combat: Assault Horizon? :(
Ehm, no Diablo 3? | |
Honestly, I didn't know Dark Souls was coming to the 360...I guess I just immediately associated it with the PS3 when I heard it was a successor to Demon's Souls. Thank you, Escapist Staff. I might have missed this one :)
The games I'm forward too are: Dues Ex: Human Revolution And that's about it.

I can't even begin to describe how disappointing it is that over half of the list are all shooters and that Catherine and Innocent Sin aren't on there.
Not saying all the games there are bad, and I'll probably play some of them, but the industry seems to be starving for creativity these days. It's sequel after sequel and gun porn after gun porn these days.
Perhaps I have become a bit jaded these days.
