Whenever I hear the Deus Ex theme, I think of the lyrics Yahtzee added to it.

I'm trying to remember: at the end of which review did he attach that?

Guitar hero 5 I believe. Or just youtube it.

Eidt: Guitar hero world tour.

Thanks!

5th comment down, some spastic with a Gears Of War avatar: "No multiplayer? Guess will be picking it up used."

THIS LITTLE TURD IS THE CAUSE OF EVERYTHING THAT IS WRONG WITH THE VIDEOGAME INDUSTRY RIGHT NOW.

Is it wrong to save the experience (which will remain the same in 2 months time or maybe even improve) for a later date and cheaper price?

I envy you, Americans. I won't get to play it until friday. Oh god why did I just reminds myself of Rebecca Black.

You would be wanting to decline it to the accusative. You should have said "Thank Deum for me."

Oh intelligent Escapees, ye who proclaim that the original Portal should have been judged not by length, ye who should rightfully rail against idiotic gamers who demand every game be padded with multiplayer and never be less than twenty hours long, ye would judge a video on the Internet by how short it was? Oh, malcontents, how I weep for thee!

(In other words, if you didn't think it was funny, then fair enough. If you are angry because it didn't reach some arbitrary minute count in your head, then I do not accept your criticism).

(Also, thanks as usual to those who enjoyed it).

While I didn't get to watch my beloved jimquisition, I really want to play that game now. So... success?

Sober Thal:
I'm pissed.... 23 hours until I can play the game.

UUURRRRAAAAHHHHH!!!!!

Damn you Gamestop for not having a midnight release! Er, uhm, I mean, Damn you people around town for not making enough preorders!!!

RIGHT?! I always encourage people to make preorders cause I LOVE midnight releases. But everyone's reply is always:
"Nah, I'll buy it when it comes out. :/"
Then I go on to explain how they can get some goodies even if they preorder the game the night before it hits the shelves and how the number of copies we get are determined by preorders and how we're probably only gonna get like 10 copies of a game because no one preodered it and then it's gonna sell out, that I'm honestly trying to help them...

And they still won't care! D:<

*Sigh* My only consolation is that today, I saw the copies in the back room, just waiting for their moment to shine.
Just waiting...

On a more on-topic comment, I am a bit dissapoint about this episode. This just seemed pointless. But alright, I guess everyone's allowed to do that every now and then; just take a break from their job or whatever and chill. There's always next week.

Ya know if you guys keep complaining about videos like these he's just going to make more just like them....

Yeah you can just go die, mate.

Still two more days till we get it. Sigh.

leviadragon99:
Heh, I guess we can count this as a glowing reccomendation for the game then.

Or that they have enough faith in the pull of Jim Sterling with the nerd demographic they feel paying him to produce a 2 minute commercial is worth the advertising dollars. :)

Either that or maybe he's making a push to be unlockable as a hidden character in the next Deus Ex... you know the idea of being able to play as Cyborg Jim Sterling, with a complete voice track acted by him and everything. :)

At any rate if someone ever makes a "The Escapist" fighting game as a fan project, you know featuring Yahtzee, Jim, The Loading Ready Run crew, Miracle Of Sound, and whoever the other regulars are... Augemented Jim Sterling should definatly be an alternate costume option.

Ye might just be putting a wee bit too much thought into that one...

If that means that the developers don't get anything then yes, very.

rollerfox88:
Im glad the Escapist have solved all their money issues. (As they obviously have if they are paying this guy to not do his job because he was too busy playing computer games...)

You do realise he's paid to play video games as he does have another job as Reviews Editor for Destructiod? And that This is a site about video game culture reviews, and the like?

You just contradicted the whole point of this site. and destruction.

So youre saying its OK not to do your second job, so long as you put the effort in for your main job? His job here is to produce a video based around a central concept of his choosing, which saying "I was playing a game" doesnt really strike me as doing...

shameduser:
I expected more gloating.

I suspect he was too busy with the game to bring his gloating up to par this episode.

Jimothy Sterling:
SNIP

Don't weep for us you god among men, we are not worthy of your tears.

Seriously? I've stoped watching Jim quite sometime ago, but I gave this one a chance because it's about Deus Ex, and them... seriously? I just now notice the irony of asking for a longer episode. Maybe it's for the best. Probably it would be the same as asking for a extra minute or two in a torture chamber. Thanks Jim.

Well people put more effort into their main job. meh who cares, he'll probably get back to the hot topics next week.

That was seriously the best episode me and my girlfriend burst out laughing so hard when you came in with your forks with the music ( its one of our favourite tracks ever that song) awesome episode man thanks for the morning laughs :D

Metal hands and arms? More like metal fingers.

Tomrrow's the day that Deus Ex: Human Revolution will be out in stores. That is if you're not a lucky son of a gun who can get games early. I'm not getting this game.

Tomorrow? No, six months.

What the devil are you talking about?

I thought everybody had already watched it by now, my mistake. :D

Not at all, I often wait for games to be cheaper/pre-owned. What pissed me off was the fact that a lack of multiplayer somehow downgrades the game in this guys opinion. It's comments like his that make developers think they have to shoehorn multiplayer into titles that don't need it, to the detriment of the single player experience. It's not like there's no multiplayer games to choose from, so why dedicate time/effort/employees to a tacked on multiplayer that could be better served polishing the single player, case in point, Bioshock 2.

Well said, I never considered the fact that Developers/ Publishers might take notice of comments like his. Although he never actually said a lack of Multiplayer made the game any worse.

And I never played BioShock 2 so I can't agree with you there.

Kevlar Eater:
Wait, so this was basically a two minute ad for this game?

Ah well. He's made a video much shorter than this.

Not amused, Next week had better be really thoughtful to make up for this.

Well, as of about 11 hours ago, my copy of DXHR is officially "shipped". So now there's just the waiting for it to actually turn up. And probably having to go to work the moment it does and not be able to play it. Sigh.

Jim was devoured by Imps in the next panel :( but I cba to draw it...

Its so fail that the UK had to wait like another 3 days for release -.- what are they doing adding the u's?

This is actually the first time I've ever heard of a game journalist going "Fuck it, a game we've all been waiting for came out, shut up and let me play it." That amuses me more than it should.

This was the first Jimquisition that had me laughing the whole time. Short and sweet.

So, Jim, your a journalist? Yet you keep making episodes re-stating flawed or flawless topics and never actually doing anything new a good 70% of the time.

"Well I feel journalism is stating everything in a arrogant, asshole tone, then completely changing the act half way through for something tolerable. Instead of focusing on the issues at hand, I ham handedly respond to comments on the website I'm working on."

So when are you going to actually do some journalism.

"When I feel like it."
...
Jim, do your job.

And thats basically a conversation about Jims career from his own to my perspective. *Its very exaggerated* My problem is he TRIED or is TRYING to tackle hard issues, sexism, and plenty of others, but since his persona is getting in the way, you can't take, even good points, seriously, because he just tosses away good points for more filler room of him gloating over everyone else. Glad I read the comments and learned this was an ad, now I can go watch the professional one and get the same effect, THANKS ESCAPIST! *tosses tea tray at waiters face, blinding him permanently while grumbling over the loss of Extra Credits.*
I mean, REALLY!? I could stand if you actually just ditched the persona for your news things, then every OTHER day *sunday or something* you do these types of episodes. It would give you room to be as silly as you god damn want, and let me watch you actually discussing like a journalist, it would be really, really nice. I just can't dig it right now with your current style, I just can NOT.

Well, at least he's being honest about the reason why there's no real episode. That's good.

Well hey he is human, and you can't expect everyone to meet expectations. i mean you have to be realistic about the situation. at least he explained why there wasn't an episode rather than leaving people in the dark and then make a video the next week. but then again my argument will prove fruitless and pointless as i then also realise that he gives too little a shit about people who complain and/or defend about the content he puts out.

Jim Sterling is to Malcolm X as Yahtzee is to Martin Luther King

JokerCR:
Jim is unfunny and unprofessional. His goal seems to be to childishly negate all the intelligence and insight of "The Big Picture with Movie Bob" and "Extra Credits". The show is truly an insult to its audience's intelligence and needs to be shut down.

He is hilarious and if you have read any of his reviews you would see he is quite professional. if those shows had been giving you any intelligence and insight you may realize that his character here is a persona for this show.

And the big picture has covered rather silly topics in the past, and the entire point of Extra credits was FOR insight and introspection.

You coming here and saying that it is an insult is like saying Citizen Cane is an insult to the movie industry because it didnt happen to be in color.

The only thing that is an insult to the audience is short sighted posters who think that something should be shut down because they dont happen to like the performer. Heres a protip: If you dont like it...Dont watch and dont bother to post in the comments.

wow, i'm impressed. the fat, ignorant bastard managed to squeeze something correct out of his cakehole.

Anacortian:

People called the romanes? They go the house? Write it out properly 100 times!

A) It's Citizen Kane, not Citizen Cane
B)I have not seen any of Jim's Reviews and cannot judge him on them but I've dabbled in his shows and remain unimpressed.
C) The man's job was to provide us with his insight and instead he mentioned that he couldn't because he was playing a video-game.
D)I am God.
