The War of the Gargantuas

It's not a polite disagreement.

Watch Video

I now want to get this movie and watch it!
and I was laughing so hard at the comment that in that universe it seems that Japan gets attacked by giant monsters like every week.

You call it 'bad monster movies get their due'. I call it 'Movie Bob writes a Christmas list for my brother'. Thanks for the help!

I'm almost certain anyone who sees this video has already seen the Cinemassacre's Monster Madness review of the movie already:

"The WOOOOOOOOOOOOORDS get stuck in my throat!" I WISH they got stuck in your throat, since your singing is so horrible!

I think, 'Holy Sh*it! Did he just hit him with a boat?!' is now my favorite saying of all time.

Interesting episode (so this is where Scooby-Doo!Mystery Incorporated episode "Battle of the Humungonauts" paid homage to).
I wonder what next week episode is referring to?

Bob I loved this video, but your timeing is a little bad.
James rolf (of AVGN internet fame) Just put a review of the same movie yesterday

OT: this movie takes Waaay to long to get to the monters but its worth it in the end.

Funny, I was just watching the AVGN's video on this film earlier today.

Bah! I already know of this one, courtesy of the Angry Nerd.

Can't tell if you're complaining about that they're covering the same movie or not, but I kind of like it.

James gives his personal opinions in a hilarious way, while Bob gives a history lesson in an equally hilarious way.

Beatrix Potter and Roland Em...whatever.

Is it Watership Down? That's the only post-apocalyptic bunny movie I know.

another classic giant monster movie for me to find and buy, thanks bob

So, the woman who wrote cute stories about bunnies and squirrels and the man who blows shit up for no good god damn reason. Bunnies and squirrels exploding at random then?
Whatever the case, you've got my attention.

o_o huh...well my cousin said that Japanese is comedy is kinda out there so I wouldn't know why their monster movies wouldn't be.

I imagine that in the Toho monster universe, Tokyo is designed a bit like the SDF-1: Modular, pre-fabricated buildings that are designed to be reconfigured quickly and efficiently after a giant monster/robot/demon battle levels large portions of the metropolis.

I also imagine that several fortunes have been made in the industry of Giant Monster Insurance.

I suspect...

EDIT: Heh. Actually, he did this one day ago last year. Don't feel bad, I saw it yesterday as well and had kind of a "wait, WHAT?" myself ;)

Ta heck with Japanese monsters!
If you're into REAL monsters checkout Glovers Harbour, Newfoundland.

They've been finding Giant Squids there for years.

Correction: they've been finding bits and pieces of Giant Squid for centuries (which is why we know they exist at all), but they've only had one or two intact specimens and never seen one alive.

Back on topic: Toho: the sole company holding up the miniature building industry in Japan.

I was impressed by the Gargantua judo flip... UNTIL HE HIT HIM WITH A BOAT!
Another gem of a find.

OOOOH Sanda. I thought you said Santa.

Still some great stuff though.

Complaining? No, no, I'd never complain, if they both want to talk about the same movie, let them. I just thought it was worth pointing out for those who don't know.

I'm wondering if they might be friends or at least know about each other somewhat and may have planned this. I could imagine Bob and James being friends, I don't entirely know why though...

Got a copy of this on DVD. Gotta love how Russ Tamblyn seems perpetually stoned throughout the film. :P

That title did not lie, it really was a goddamn war.

fixed it for you Bob

PS is the next movie Night of the Lepus?

did this movie have anything to do with carry on screaming??????
http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_QpchIGpaq5k/SuoozCY8rBI/AAAAAAAAAYE/-GkdDYHBh6U/s400/carryonscreaming_66.jpg

2 hairy monsters, different colour, fight each other coz of good and bad

I don't understand why they always try to end it as abruptly as possible.

It's like it is a contest or something.

Awesome Bob, keep this crazy, zany and yet awesome whatever it is up! I really like this quirky stuff, penertrates my mind to a more primal level.

"A small nation, perpetually swept up in the Cold War clash of rising superpowers like Russia, China and the United States"

Nononono Bob. The USSR, not Russia >.<

you sould do an italian horror movie

So those are where those laser tanks are originally from. I see that the Japanese were (almost) fully prepared to deal with a Furon. Anyways, great video Bob, hoping to see some more neat movie material!

Well, thanks for spoiling the surprise. :(
