Avant-garde?

That sounds like hipster talk to me...

I'm watching now. You better watch your back...

Man it is sad that even the mere mention of that life destroying site makes me want to type it into my adress bar... Addiction does not even come close when dealing with that... THING... Now if you need me I'll be checking to see if CM has its own TvTropes page...

EDIT: Turns out they do! Not very extensive, but it's there

wait wait wait wait wait, hold on here...
how come leels here is posting the critical miss? have both cory and grey been sucked into tvtropes so badly?

anyway, yeah stay away from that place... it's addictive as crack, and twice as educational!

Yes, excellent. Finally someone shows the horrors of addiction to tvtropes.
Which reminds me, I need to go verify something...er not on tvtropes, yeah.

So Avant-garde means "I didn't plan ahead when I drew this comic?" I had wondered
I kid, I kid

You need to be careful when dealing with hipsters Daystar

Great comic... although Eds.... you listed this as a comic from LeeLee, rather than the usual artists.

Unless it was a guest comic?

wow, now I understand how my doctor got his degree...
wow, now I gotta go change doctors!

So I'm gonna take a guess and say the guy is using his addiction to tvtropes and making it into a profession as a doctor..... Brilliant!

I should become a doctor too!

As someone who wants to become a psychologist, I have to say this scares me, and I pray it's mostly a joke.

I noticed that too. WTF? I was expecting a crossover when I clicked on the link.

If they had the comic would probably be stick figures with scribbles. I've been there. Get too deep into TVTropes and real life suffers. Work? That can wait, I never realized how similar these two shows were in their use of a Five Man Band where the Lancer does a Face Heel Turn in a Wham Episode!

(I wonder how many people here can read that sentence and translate it into English.)

Ehhh, well it might help grant some degree of knowledge and insight, but calling it the equivilent of real-world degrees and experience is pretty laughable.

I thought 'TV Tropes' when I read 'sanity slippage'. I actually use trope titles in everyday speech...

So wait. Google and such DON'T make me an expert in the field? Well shit.

Though I don't see whats so "addicting" about TvTropes. I've looked around it and it's pretty bleh. Website looks like shit too.

I am snickering like crazy at the chat bubble examination. Oh, yes. Snickering.

Thank you for not linking to TvTropes, I have stuff I need to get done today. Nice to know that all my troping qualifies me to become a shrink, now I have something to fall back on. Yay.

Speaking as a troper, I loled. However, point of order: It's "cloudcuckoolander," not "cuckoolander", although doctor why-have-I-not-been-fired-yet was probably trying to hide his source.
Like so: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Cloudcuckoolander

It's the same principle as Wikipedia's distracting-ness: you think of a story you know (say, Bioshock), search for it, lo and behold there is a page for it, a trope catches your eye (say, Canned Orders Over Loudspeaker), you click it, you see another story on that page you know (say, Mass Effect 2), you click that, and so on, and so on.

Actually, speaking as someone who actually has a degree in lit studies, a comprehensive knowledge of TV Tropes actually gives you more useful knowledge than the degree.

Is it wrong that I can go to TvTropes and not waste time there? I mean I've done it once or twice, but now whenever I go I'm not really affected by its supposed alluring and time wasting qualities anymore.

I'm not judging anyone, but I'm just not all that interested in that site enough :P

you're TvTropes pages has been updated to include this.
you broke the internet in... somewhere.

The last panel of this weeks strip.........erm, is that where Erin usually keeps that hamster?

............Thats hot :P

Hmm, I did rather appreciate the burn against "My Word Balloons Are More Professional Than Yours" guy.

And it's pretty damn funny when people get into an argument about fiction and cite TVTropes eight times in a single paragraph.

I've never really understood why the Internet regards TvTropes as it does. I've been there, I've looked up every article with a funny name or ones to do with my interests and it was funny and educational. However, I was never there for more than about 2 hours a week - which is as long as I typically spend reading articles on this site.

Great thing with the bubbles, I know people were bitchin about how last time she did it "wrong".

Also, very accurate. Before They settled me as an Asperger with anxiety and sleeping disorders I was an idiot savant with schizophrenic tendencies. No joke.

You know what's funny? I was JUST ON that goddamn site.

WHAT DID YOU JUST DO? YOU FOOL, YOU HAVE DOOMED US ALL!

oh, hey, The Voiceless, I wonder what trope that is......

OT: First Google certified Doctors, then wikipedia certified doctors, now TvTrope certified ones?

what ever happened to, oh, I dunno, actually going to school to be a Doctor?

answer, when you had to sell your first five families, three goats, and a 10 pound bag of blue skittles to be one.

In Class, maybe. Real hipsters only speak in Ogham.

I like this strip, mostly because any sort of therapist that spoke like that usually recommended me more therapy got belted in the face.

Also, I shall now be using "Pants" as an active term for lame, unless corrected for its insult-definition later.

edit: unless "Pants" is short for "Pants-on-head retarded"

Sure a comprehensive knowledge of TV-Tropes equals a Degree in English Lit (A Bachelor at least).

Just as an extensive knowledge of all medicine related Wikipedia Articles would sum up to more knowledge than any doctor posesses.

That is because being a scientist is not about memorizing facts, but about learning how to create them yourself. And that can be quite hard when you learned all of that stuff from preserved sources, instead of working it up yourself.
