Ahh Desert Bus, the one time of the year where I feel perfectly validated for watching other people play a video game and at the same time bid money for awesome stuff to help children in need. There's nothing else like it and here's hoping there are many more Desert Buses in the future!
I saved up more money for it this year. I'll be donating and buying a shirt again if they have them available. If no shirts, then a bigger donation. Last year, my cat-shark picture got honorable mention for being the only cat with a shark head. Hopefully we get more fun events like that. Knowing LRR, we won't be let down.
On one hand, Desert Bus is entertaining as fuck. But on the other hand so is MLG Providence, and MLG Providence isn't supporting some fucking children that I most likely hate. So I gotta go MLG on this one.
Man I wish I had some money of my own to donate.
This is gonna be awesome.
I admit this makes me a terrible person, but I think I like the idea of Childs Play more than the reality, since I hate kids.
For the call-in list, the link on Shamus' name leads to Steve Butts' profile.
Umm.... it's the Fifth annual Desert Bus for Hope
The call-ins page on desertbus.org doesn't match the one (pruned down to Escapist contributors) presented in the article. So, what gives? When is Jim Sterling calling in? Is Shamus even calling in at all?
Yeah man, those sick kids, what an annoying bunch!! I had a great time watching Desert Bus last year, this year I've a full time job though so I wont get to watch nearly as much, but at least I'll be able to support them more with cash!
I cannot wait for this to start, this will be my first Desert Bus and I'm looking forward to it so much. I love LRR, I love watching people suffer with bad games, and I have no reason to hate sick kids, so this is perfect! When I have to go out for the first few days, I may well have to try recording what I miss on hypercam or something for my own future viewing pleasure... perhaps, anyway. Next year I'll be saving more money to donate/auction and hopefully submit some stuff to the craftalong.
Let the suffering...begin.
I'll be there to enjoy the show.
As far as folks from The Escapist go, the times here are correct. A few of the call-ins had to be changed recently and I am sure the LRR crew have their hands full getting ready to bus ;)
What time does it start in England, it doesn't say. Anyway, i can't wait, i saw parts of it last year and the parts i saw were really good, and funny xD
Well, it's happening at 9:00 PM in GMT -5 timezone, so it starts at 4 PM or 1 AM or something for you? my brain is dead today...
4th year in a row I'm gonna be watching. LETS START THIS!!!
Considering it's 1:44 AM here i doubt it's 1pm or 4pm... 4am sounds about right xD
Yeah, got the AM and PM switched up, curse my lack of brainpower! wait, wait, I know how to solve this...
YEY! =3 wish i could donate to it =\ low on funds, hopefully i will be help in some way
Well, it's going on for 5 days at the very least, so there's plenty of time to donate as well... either way, it'll be great fun to watch!
Watching it right now. | |
Wow, during MLG finals weekend? Could you have picked a worse time to try to get gamers' attention?
Damn, I'm on my phone right now. Once I get back, I'll be with you for the ride. I'll be up all tonight anyway working on a film, so this'll be great to have on.
Dude, not every gamer watches or cares about MLG.
So, I've never watched Desert Bus before. Doing it a least a little this year. I've gotta say that it is the most boring game I have ever seen. Worse than I imagined. At least the LLR crew is awesome! Keep up the good work, guys!
I can't figure out how to get more slime...
I watched it for three hours before realising I had watched it for three hours.
Like those of us who don't even know WTF it is. 'Scuse me, I've got to go hit Google. ... Oh my God it's spectator sport gaming, for when I'm just too tired to pick up a controller but feel a good Let's Play is too funny or insightful and a good speedrun too artistic. So, never. I think I shall let the Jargon File explain my opinion of this, from their description of sports.
| |
'Dessert Bus for Hope' doesn't work for me.
Yaaay Bill! The world needs more Bill!
Sorry Kathleen! I just want to see you WHAARGARBL in slime.
By the looks of it...and what I myself did, you are not alone. :3
Gahhhhh, I would happily donate and/or bid but my bank account is emptier than I would like and I have no form of income for roughly two or three weeks. Next year for sure! Still gonna watch it though, LRR is one of the only groups that can regularly amuse me.
