Favorite Ms. Take - Part 2

What happened to Ms. Marvel after that whole baby thing.

Watch Video

Yep, "Oh dear I've gone cross-eyed" is pretty much the general theme of this one, and I actually knew some of this...

Spiderman and Ms. Marvel? I know nothing of her personality outside of the last two episodes of this show so I have to ask, is that a good match?

It's alright Bob, the end of semester crunch already burned out those brain cells.
Besides anyone who has even the vaguest knowledge of the Marvel continuity knows that nobody stays alive, dead, or on the same side or team indefinitely.

Daystar Clarion:
I don't think I'll ever get around to reading comics, not with these ridiculous continuity issues.

You could just get the Ultimate guides: It doesn't help any of it make sense, but at least they fill you in.

God freaking dammit, this is too freaking confusing!

I don't think I'll ever get around to reading comics, not with these ridiculous continuity issues.

wait, Rouges powers only drained mutants? I thought Rouge drained the energy from anyone she touched.

Wait....Wha?

COMICS....ARE...WEEEEIIIIIRRRRRRRRD!

Think I should check out some of these storylines at some point, so long as I don't end up with Austin Power's face.

Yes I would use it for important things... I just do not know in what I would use it... I guess...

Yep, the "I've gone cross-eyed..." gag really pulled this episode together. You know, instead of pointing out for the umpteenth time that comic book continuity at this point is about as dense as a metric ton block of concrete.

Shame you could couldn't do part 3 or a 10 mins episode althought to be fair you did sum her up and any longer would of dwell more on that story arc.
While I do know what had happen in Avenger Disassemble, House of M and the stuff going in Marvel in recent years but you know what, I would like you do more episodes on these well more like a summary of that story arc. It would probably make alot more sense when you do it.

Thank you Bob for once again giving me an insanely long and confusing story that I may use to impress low level comic fans.

Oh god, continuitygasm!!

Spiderman and Ms. Marvel...

Those are going to be some f-cked up kids...

What are braincells?

...and this is why people outside the comics fandom are so afraid to get into it. Great episode as always Bob.

Is it sad that I have been reading Avengers books for almost a decade now and I didn't even know she died during Dark Reign? Lol.

I'm so glad Bendis is fading away.

This single episode can be split into 5 separate "COMICS ARE WEIRD!!!" episodes all on their own. i may have to re-watch this episode 2 more times because i went cross-eyed a couple times too.

It does. I haven't seen the video yet (at work). Does Bob say that? That seems inaccurate and unusual for comic-man bob.

oh dears i think my brain is dieing, all this confusing story arcs....

wait that just be gork and mork talking to me.

Odd, the various TV series lately have Ms. Marvel hanging out with SHIELD instead, acting as a liaison between them and the Avengers, and generally having a thing for Captain America and/or Nick Fury, essentially crossing her character with Spider-Woman and...

WAIT, WAIT! It's ok... I have bacon.
(makes about as much sense as anything else out there)

"Continanity" indeed.

Every time you do one of these "Comics are weird" episodes, it makes me damn thankful I don't read comic books. Now if you'll excuse me I've got to go collect my brains of the wall behind me.

I have been waiting for this episode!

Does anyone else love how smug Chris Claremont looked in that picture Bob used.
He's like 'I'm gonna put things right and there's nothing you can do to stop me! bwahahaha!'
And put things right he did <3

Oddly I knew all about Rogue getting her powers form Ms Marvel but I had no idea she was a villain at first. :O

I dont get what your going cross-eyed over Bob. Years of comics should have allowed you to be able to deal with this. My praise goes to Clarmont more being a good enough writer to fix all that mess.

Anyway, next time you do a Comics Are Weird segment, Deadpool. Freaking Deadpool all the way. Or a House of M/Civil War episode.

Goddamn. I've been with this show since the beginning, and this is the first time I've actually thought, "You know, comics really are WEIRD."

Shadowstar38:

I second this. Marvel seems to have MINES of strange things you can use and Deadpool's made for that.

Bob reads comics so I don't have to.

Thanks, Bob.

This whole "Reboot" shit that (mostly) US comics have been doing are such bullcrap. It's just continuities and blurbs of meaninglessness. Instead of, you know, being original and create new, memorable characters (shout out to Todd McFarlane and Spawn) old characters are drawn out to nothingness by SEVERAL writers, not just one.

I can't believe people actually enjoy reading this stuff. Mind you, there is a lot of good that has come out of this process as well, my favorite being pretty much every Spidey incarnation and twist, but fundamentally it's very flawed.

I wanna bring up that one issue where in a late 2000s retcon before she became Ms. Marvel, Carol Danvers got captured by Arab terrorists and got well, let's just say it involves her in underwear, a hammer and a chair.

To make this clusterfuckery that I'm trying to forget it happened, Scansdaily cheered her on as she survived through the torture, like she's some Badass James Bond in Casino Royale. At least, Bond got whipped, but this?

That was beyond Comics Are Weird for Ms Marvel. That was just, ugh.

I could give you guys the link, but I'm too PTSD to even to do it.

OK, maybe you're right. Maybe I wasn't going to use those braincells for anything important... but still. *boom* Mind. Blown.

Also that Spider woman picture. She was in one of the first comics I picked up as a kid. Hadn't seen or thought of her since then.

I needed those brain cells to remember math!

shadowmagus:

And yet the vast majority of the stuff doesn't matter. Has anyone ever not gotten into, say, baseball because they don't know who Bob Feller or Eddie Mathews were? Because they heard the Atlanta Braves were once called the Boston Beaneaters?

Bob you forgot one thing about House of M: It and the build up to it completely destroyed previous continuity regarding the Scarlet Witch due the efforts of a hack piece of shit named Brian Michael Bendis. Seriously, I think Bendis is worse than Joe Quesada and that's saying a lot considering he was responsible for One More Day.

Anyway, I've said before and I'll say it again: I would love to see Bob tackle the Guardians of the Galaxy in one of these comic book related episodes. Comics Are Weird indeed, especially when they feature a group of space adventurers whose tactical genius is a gun-toting raccoon.

MB202:
God freaking dammit, this is too freaking confusing!

welcome to comic books. people wonder why they aren't more popular.

Quote of the day;

moviebob:
...in a romantic relationship with fellow team member spiderman. Yeah because there's two people who need more complications in their lives.

I laugherd hard at that. especially remembering one of the big pictures first episodes being the devil and mister parker. oh and hten he talked about the clone saga.

BTW i would like to see an episode on these things which were mentioned in this episode. house of M, the Iron Patriot/Norman Osborn/The Osborn Family(doesn't the mother have some f-'d up stuff going with her?), Mystique, (although not directly mentioned) Magneto and his kids, The Xmen, And most of all THE STARJAMMERS!

Captcha; biquirs... DYSLEXIC BIQUIRS OF THE WORLD UNTIE!
