The Last of Us - Announcement Trailer

I don't think that this game could look any better.

Watch Video

Is that Clancy Brown playing the main guy? Sure sounds like him.

And I beleive Juno is playing the girl...it may be a trailer, but I'm already looking forward to this. Mushroom-headed zombies...sweet.

I hope this game plays like what Dead Island should have been
with the depth like the D.I. trailer

So, is this another trailer that makes a game look like it could be really interesting only to be some sub-par 4-player with generic sterotypical characters?

I guess what I am asking is if this is another Dead Island?

Also, if the whole game is escort based with the girl like in Resident Evil, I might just stop playing games.

And, are those zombies, aliens... or zombie aliens... or alien zombies?

Man, I'm getting jaded...

This all comes down to the gameplay for me. The voice actors sound FANTASTIC, and I'm sure their story of survival is cool.

But I don't want another god damn "KILL TEH ZOMBIES" game. This game better actually be about survival, or I SWEAR I'LL MAKE IT SIT IN THE CORNER WITH A DUNCE HAT.

... God dammit, I need to get some real sleep.

Dead Island was made by a nearly unknown studio with minor backing, who hired an outside agency to put together a trailer based on the title and setting alone. This game is coming from one of the most respected studios working today, with some of the best games ever made. It has one of the powerhouses of the industry behind it. The trailer was made in house using assets from the game itself.

Yeah, kind of a different thing. Dead Island happened cause they wanted attention. Naughty Dog get all the attention they want by saying "we're Naughty Dog"

Between this and Fortnite, I have hopes that my dream of a proper survival game might come true, trying not to get too excited prematurely, but still, 2012 might be a good year for new IP's.

Sony alone are bringing out ten great looking brand new IPs next year.

I know, and you're not helping with the "trying not to get too excited prematurely" :P

So its also probably not gonna help when I say that these new IPs involve sace cowboys who can call down turrets that can drop entire cities on each others heads, a boy and his adorable giant gryphon pet, a girl who discovers she has the power to control gravity completely, and a music platformer that actually makes music for you while you play.

What is that last game, if you don't mind me asking ?

As for the trailer, it looks stunning, as expected from Naughty Dog. I hope that they will deliver on the gameplay part, I want a zombie game where I get scared, like the old resident evil and silent hill games, those always managed to spook me out, unlike games nowadays.

This

This is a sweet looking trailer, but the guy has an uncanny resemblance to my dad. Like, nearly spot on likeness. It'd be strange to play thinking I'm controlling my dad's survival in the zombie apocalypse, especially when he already loves watching The Walking Dead.

Wow that girl looks so much like zoey from l4d, it's like she's her daughter or something. And that dad looks a lot like Francis if he dropped the biker gig.

Oh god.

Sweet, I Am Legend with Nathan Drake and Ellen Page.

Sarcasm aside, this looks fucking sweet. AND I SHOULD BUY A GODDAMN PS3 ALREADY.

Ellen Page! I knew it sounded/looked like her.

But even without Ellen Page i'm definitely interested (go naughty dog!)

Doesn't seem particularly scary for a survival horror game. Not saying it's going to be bad, just that it doesn't look like survival horror. Maybe just survival.

I suspect you play as the girl.

Edit: No. Apparently Joel is the main character.

Hmm. Post-apocalypse with nature reclamation, father/daughter character dynamic, maybe honest survival aspect, and a female character who isn't a wilting flower or ridiculously overcompensating. The zombies (and it is always zombies) might be a downside but maybe they'll take it in a different direction than L4D's cliched lineup.

Yeah, color me intrigued.

Kneejerk reaction: The Road meets Dead Island

As good as the trailer is, after Dead Island I don't think anybody will give it too much praise untill more info is released.

I think the girl is voiced by Ashley Johnson (Gwen on Ben 10) BTW

Looks interesting.

I'll be keeping an eye on this one.

Here is a question... why did the monster things look like walking Triffids?
