Lollipop Chainsaw - Swan Trailer

I am so glad I'm not in High School anymore if this is the current state of things.

Watch Video

I actually want to play that. It seems like a fun twist on the "L4D" formula.

Oh, Suda51. Sometimes I feel like you're the only one who understands me.

This game is looking better and better the more I see of it. Definitely a first day buy.

Hell. YES!!

I think this is the first zombie game in a long time that I'm actually wanting to play so bad.

Shine on you crazy diamond.

Wow I think this is the first trailer I've seen that isn't censor well replacing bloods with rainbow and bright colours!

Was that a Chuck Greene keychain I saw on her waist near the end? Also, I loved the quick bio of Swan. Suda51, you are a lunatic, and that's why we love you!!

Hooray for Oneechanbara fans?

Hey, just when you thought you didn't have enough sexualized schoolgirls slaughtering zombies. Here comes episode 2.

Ouch, my head, that's Twilight Sparkle doing that horrendous libby "liek omg" Cali accent, too. My brain, my poor poor brain.

So, Suda51's take on Dead Rising. Thats fair enough, but i have to be critical as to what kind of variety this game will offer in the way of zombie butchering mayhem, Dead Rising 2 had combo weapons, all ive seen here so far is a pink chainsaw and a gameplay style that seems to indicate 'based on Devil May Cry'.

Yes. Just Yes. No..wait..hell yes..

I'm torn between my love of Suda51 games, and my utter hate of blatant fetishism.

So...

Fuck this game.

Is it blatant fetishism if it's blatantly a parody of blatant fetishism?

I don't know, but I gotta admit, I'm getting interested in this game. Seems to have an interesting... uhm.... what's the word... attitude?

Also, Twilight Sparkle with a chainsaw :)

after the crrepy otaku who is in love with his broken sister and also buys lightsabers on e-bay, fights a six blades duelist, a darth maul fan-college girl and a quarterback and his army of cheerleaders on a football giant robot using a gundam, and don't forget DESTROYERMAN...i never expected this.

O suda, why do i want to play your sicked games so much?

......yet another trailer showing me why I shouldn't buy this game.

I would say this is like Shadows of the Damned in that the trailer makes everything look awesome and the game turns out to be kind of shit, but in this case the game doesn't even look good in the trailer. Based on my previous experience with Suda games and on what's been shown gameplay looks rather lackluster. Also, I'm still convinced that this is less Suda going "Alright, how about we try your average zombie game and add something just plain balls-to-the-wall crazy" and more "I can't believe what these gamers have let me get away with so far! Let's see if I can make something both wierd and lazy and still have them cheer me on!"

In short, I won't be fooled by your tricks again Suda.

Hilarious and awesome in concept.

But will it be fun to play. Have to wait and find out I spose =X

I don't know whether to be happy that Tara Strong is a voice in another video game, or horrified that she's voicing a vapid libby Cali accent schoolgirl. Largely I'm horrified because that is one vapid accent.

I'd say this is a kinda interesting game in ways. In the "heh, that's funny in a kind pathetic way" like what drives people to play random arcade games. A quick burst of embarrassing silly campiness. I don't know whether to laugh or cringe when watching this stuff, and I frequently alternate between the two. I think I might give it a buy used for around $10 for the "silly arcade" factor. It's easier to look past this sort of thing, because it's a zombie game, zombies have always been campy exploitation stuff.

Also, the facial design of the main character is obviously very well crafted. As is always the case from Japanese games. And they show it off at every opportunity(obviously, because she's a sex object). I don't know exactly why pretty much every company in Japan has turned facial design into an exact aesthetic science while companies like Bioware and Bethesda don't, but it's very clear they put a lot of hours into the facial designs of characters. She has a very realistic nose, ears, eyes, and even hair. And also unrealistic because she has ultra-supermodel face. And did they seriously put that much detail into just her lip gloss?

You can think what you want about Japanese games and the industry today. But surely you can't deny they love faces and seem to put a lot of time and talent into designing them. I mean, not that there aren't any Western companies that seem to love designing faces. But every Japanese company seems to love designing faces. I blame anime dipping into other media. As the defining feature of anime and Japanese pop culture aesthetics seems to be an utter obsession with facial aesthetics.

That was legitimately pretty impressive, in a camp sort of way. I would like some gameplay though. I think my favourite part is swan's voice. It just screams weirdo who shouldn't have been in highschool for this long. It's like my immortal had a baby that was taken away from it's mother by child support and is trying get along with its estranged father who doesn't love her; or some crap holy hell similes are boring to write. Looking forward to it though.

It's both. Or maybe it's just the most unsubtle piece of fanservice ever.

Seriously, this game is embarrassing. Even if you buy and play it and find it hilariously fun, you've got to admit it horrible, absolutely horrible and filthy. It's just... it's just shameful, it really is.

Really, it's like a disgusting trainwreck. It's absolutely shameful, and yet hilariously fascinating. So much so that even the fact it's self aware just seems to make it all the more horrifying somehow. Is it a joke? Can the joke of a joke be taken as a joke or does it pop right back into to messed right up and unlovable? Does saying "haha sex and violence" really count as a joke? How can I even attempt to make a coherent sentence about this... thing?

I don't know but it's nasty and you're better start taking Katamari Damacy deadly serious right now because so many levels of wrong have just taken that game's silliness and cut it into pieces. And wipe your conscious clean of all the sexploitation by watching porn. I swear it's probably easier to not feel dirty while watching porn. And Tommy Wiseau.

You have no right to speak that way when you haven't played it, much less a demo. There's been misleading trailers for countless things. Will it be full of fanservice? Maybe. Will it be trashy? Maybe. Everythings a maybe. How you can call it a trainwreck is what's beyond ridiculous.

The theme alone is pure trainwreck. Even if you think it's hilarious, it's pure trainwreck.

Even if it has the best gameplay in the history of mankind, it's still pure trainwreck.

Yes, there are some things you can judge that quickly. No matter how you swing it, it's still a piece of over the top, over the top over the top, sexploitation. There's no maybe about the fact it's a trashy fanservice game.

Saying it might not be sleazy is like saying a Duke Nukem game might not be sleazy. It's already sleazy. In fact, it takes sleazy and throws it over the great wall of China before the game has even been released.

Thank you Suda...simply for existing. :)

Still interested, wonder if Travis Touchdown will make a cameo.

She has a human head on her belt, there's got to be an oral sex joke in there somewhere.

Like, OMG, if she's, like, gonna talk all valley girl to me for, like, the entire game...I'm gonna suck-start my 9mm.

As worn out as this genre is getting (_____ vs. zombie) I'm kinda curious to see what Suda51 does with it.

Gonna find a way to get a PS3 for this game...

The stupid premise, all those colours... It just hits the right buttons when it comes to games for me.

A blond teenage cheerleader killing zombies with cheerleader moves while also dressed in her cheerleading dress.

I saw porn more subtle than that.

Ahh, the Tarantino of video games strikes again. I enjoyed NMH quite a bit. Will have to keep an eye on this. Also, where has the respect gone for beautifully self-indulgent, over the top camp that decades of B movies and grindhouse films have established? Quentin, Rodriguez, etc. Of course it's blatantly fetishistic. But it's a million times better than writers that insert twisted sexual themes subliminally into their works (I'm especially looking at you, anime...)

I am intrigued, I will admit that. Show me more oh mighty Suda!

Normally I stay away from games with zombies because the zombies fad pisses me off.

I still really want to see how this turns out. After going back to No More Heroes (which I initially hated so much I took it back the day I got it) and absolutely loving it, I'm in the mood for Suda.

My body is ready.

So it's a game in which you play a spunky high school girl who wears a cheerleaders outfit and sucks on a lollypop and carries the head (Who i presume) of her boyfriend whilst killing zombies with a customized chainsaw summoned by a goth kid who looks like Marilyn Mason.
...
Sounds like Suda to me.

Oh god her voice! I really feel bad for the people who play this and have to listen to that thing squealing in your ear for 5 hours, also this just looks to me like another case of "We can't be arsed to think of an original idea, so we're going to be so absolutely batshit insane that nobody can question us because insanity doesn't need a coherent story or any semblance of logic!".

Upon writing this I've come to realize that I am hating on what could potentially make the games industry great again (for me atleast), I've always said that I miss the days when games could be about anything and not all games have to be gritty brown grimdark pieces of copypasted crap with the exact same gravelly voiced near silent protagonist, yet here is a game about colourful cheerleader with a bright pink pimped out chainsaw slaughtering zombies, now while this specific game doesn't look like it is to my liking, I applaud the developers for making it and hope that I see more of this type of game in the future.

Her voice still annoys the ever living piss out of me though.

I have to wonder what reaction this game would get if it wasn't being made by a trendy ironic name. I mean If you take out the whole Suda51 thing it's basically Bayonetta. I'm all for ironic quirky weirdness but there is such thing as becoming the thing your meant to be taking the piss out of. I just don't think I would enjoy this game over say, Deadly Premonition which is like a fine wine of weirdness.

It is too... Bloody hell. Still looks like an entertaining, incredibly ridiculous game. But I don't own either of the consoles it's coming out on and am way too broke to buy one...

looks like bloodrayne with humor and zombies. shame its not coming for the pc.

Incredible, a trailer for a cheerleader and they didn't give in to an upskirt shot. This game might actually have hope.
