The Latest Craze

Wait, I don't get it. She's walking... and there's terrible Engrish coming out of her shoes...

Oh. Oooooh. Ok, I get it now.

Shoes that spout cliched kung fu lines with each step? Oh I've GOT to get me some of those!

I also considered sending in a submission for your guest artist competition...but then I remembered that the last impressive thing I drew was stuck to a refrigerator. My mom said it was the prettiest plaid duck she had ever seen.

I would enter, but I'm awful at drawing.

Now colouring, I'm pretty okay at colouring. (Well, basic colouring anyway. I can do basic shadows.)

So if anyone out there is good at sketching, but awful at colouring, we could totally team up 8D

Or not... xD

Does Flash MX count as a program for creating digital art? It's what I use to vector my avatars. >.>

I assume not getting it until seeing the caption is the point, right? That or I'm an idiot. Anyway, pretty much as soon as I read the caption I got three panels worth of laughter all at once, so that was nice.

Edit: You've already seen the extent of my artistic talents (more or less). I won't make you suffer through it again.

I do hand drawn comics, I can't enter then?... that makes me a sad panda...

So...what is the joke exactly?

Renegade-pizza:
So...what is the joke exactly?

Shoes talking with terrible lines, obviously translated from another language.
It's shoes, for stepping, and dubs.
Dub-step.

I took me a while to get it as well...

Where does the quote from the middle panel originally come from? I've heard it before, but it's always sounded like a sound byte from a movie.

Renegade-pizza:
So...what is the joke exactly?

Dubstep, those were lines from bad kung fu dubs hence her steps were being dubbed.

99 problems I have, but bitch is not one of them

Renegade-pizza:

DubStep

Oh God... that is funny... and I only got it thanks to you... so thanks.

This is relevant. (Quote at the beginning :P)

That's also a really convoluted joke. I liked it though.

All I could think was, "God those lines remind me of terrible kung fu movies being dubbed...wait..."

Boy I need more coffee because that took me longer to get than it should.

Still hilarious after overcoming my own stupidity.

I've noticed that quite a few panels with Erin in them have her looking down in our direction. Also, she blushes more and more noticeably.

just statements of fact (or more like observational opinion, or whatever)

Wait, I still don't get it. What's dubstep

<_<

A couple of questions regarding your offer to submit comics:

Are semi-pros eligible to submit work or is it strictly limited to amatuers?

Limit 1? Or can someone enter multiple comics to be considered?

The pun, it burns!

The competition is open to everyone, pro, semi-pro, completely-un-pro.

And submit as many pieces as you like.

I didn't get the joke until I read [quote="burningdragoon" post="6.345760.13833726"]I assume not getting it until seeing the caption is the point, right? quote]
And even then I still had to go back to the comic to understand the joke.

I aparently suck.

For half the comic I was expecting a Wu Tang joke. I won't say I'm disappointed, but...

Also come on guys, slow escapist is slow!

Some prior knowledge of The Bloodhound Gang, specifically the song 'I Hope You Die' also helps to make the comic humourous.

I see Kung Tai Teds dub voice got some extra work, I say we need an audio file to go along with this comic

Dubstep, as in Dubbing (like dubbing in English voices over a Japanese voiced film) combined with step...for shoes and such, dubstep itself is an odd form of music, you can find it on youtube if you search dubstep, its the kind that has lots of "wub wub wub" sound effects

Here I was thinking of Kung Fu Chaos.

*face palm*
I wish i didnt get it..... I really do....

I dont even like dubstep.... >.>; the music, not the shoes. I guess the shoes are pretty cool.

Oh snap, I need sparring gloves and kickpads that make kung-fu sounds. Hell yes this is going to be awesome!!!

Thank you.

I'd enter the contest, but while I can draw with my hand, I can't do it on the PC, because I don't have a tablet or similar tool and drawing with the mouse feels, to me, like eating soup with a fork while hanging from the ceiling upside down with one leg trying to dodge a jumping rabid dog.

Hmm... I wonder if I could pull something with my 3DS...

You should probably add "No Stick Figures" to your list of requirements.

I would draw for you but I don't think your audience would be into a few strips of sticks with faces.
