CPC Golf

The gang takes on it's greatest challenge to date ... golf.

So in a race to the bottom, you couldn't even come last?

Oh well. At least you guys had a good time...

Kathleen you are an odd combination: you taunt like a man and swing like a girl. Seriously, that is THE most girly wind-up I have ever seen. And Graham, you DO know that golf ball isn't going to spontaneously combust if you stand within three feet of it right? Try a shorter club next time.

I won't mock your game, but I will admire your taste in shorts.

Calumon: Like blue kilts, but with legs! :O

I know Steve from his awesome team up buddy cop fan fic with the other Steve, in "Dengler and Butts".

I laugh because I would have been just as bad.

I bed there was hours of footage to edit, Ouch.

Despite how awesome that day looked, I will still not play golf or see it as an entertaining observing sport

meh, I don't see how professional poker playing is a thing, but there you go. Doesn't matter what you think there are others who will think otherwise, and it isn't your world.

and on topic:

I've never even done a 9 hole, so props to you guys. I've only mini golfed, badly...

Spent the whole video anticipating a "balls" joke. Was disappointed :(

I was laughing so hard during this, but not at you guys, just with you of course // Good to see that you at least did not come in last place

I also second the opinion that Steve is an awesome guy // The amount of stuff he gets involve in and, almost at the drop of a hat, will help people out with is insane

-M

The stinger had me in stitches.

I'd like to thank Matt for explaining golf to me. "Hit the ball down the fairway as far as you can." I will never look at the sport the same way.

We do need more Dengler & Butts stories.

OT: Only played mini-golf cause normal golf is expencive, I've always wanted to drive one of those golf carts though, looks fun.

Ever since that first video whenever a hotel hears that LRR is coming they purposely remove all their overpriced water bottles just to annoy James. :p

I would have expected them to put $10 bottles in LRR rooms, instead.

Er...Not bad for having never golfed, Kathleen and Graham? Don't stand up as you're swinging, Kathleen, just turn your body as you follow through. And it's okay, Graham, you can get closer to the ball, it's not going to yell at you.

It's not an observing sport, it's a social sport. Business is done on golf courses, and in club houses. It does take skill, body control, and understanding of the playing field to play well, however, so it is still a sport. Just not a high-profile one.

More or less any sport is good to watch if you know the game well & can recognise when it's being played skilfully.

OT: Great video guys; hope you had fun.

I laughed, with you not at you, because I am HORRIBLE at just MINI golf. I hate to imagine myself on a real golf course. At least you had fun.

$24,000 for child's play? You guys can raise that in an hour of bussing. Next year they should have a charity bus off. Lowest number of crashes per team over one week wins :D I bet James would kill at that.

Time to be a golf snob... :-(

Hmm, best ball explanation fail...
Best Ball is taking the best score on a hole as the score for your team.
What was described in the video was a scramble(or best shot).
Further team play descriptions here:

Also, bogey explanation fail.
" got a double bogey" ... "instead of a -5" implying a double bogey was a -2, when something bogey would be +something.

Golf explanation ftw.
Also, if you need to round out a foursome next year, I'd be happy to join your team. :-)

Finally, Charity Win!

It was a best ball scramble, Matt just omitted the word scramble. He still perfectly explained what we were doing, which was the key.

Everyone was telling me to move further BACK from the ball because I kept whiffing on the far side of it... now I wasn't standing close enough...

Damn, golf, you confusin'!
:)

Agreed about the explanation being key. Even when playing these formats frequently, we'll usually make sure we're all talking about the same one.

I think you were the only one.

Looked fun guys. And it's clear you're coming from a place where it's not so sunny all the time. You white nerds. The Hotel stinger was a good one.

Your stance was strange so its hard to say "you need to fix this one thing" Clubs, stance, swing, grip, ball placement...

If I had to break it down, I would say, you need to have more fun next time ;)

I have a question for Steve. Why you so awesome Steve? Why?

I can play mini golf pretty good, its mostly simply geometry. But full sized golf, I didn't understand half, well all, of the terms used in the video.

Golf is awesome. It's the outdoorsiest of the four great sports: golf, bowling, billiards, and darts. Those are the four great sports because they can, and are expected, to be participated in while drinking beer. Sure, you may name other sports, but it's pretty much frowned on to actually drink while playing those.

Well, I bet I could beat you to the bottom of mini golf, easily! You all looked professional to me - though that may be because of the uniform, and the fact that I know next to nothing about golf. But it still counts.

So who were those folks that got last place?
Also, had to laugh once I realized what James was up to at the end there. Such a shame that there wasn't an exorbitantly priced bottle of water.

Golf?
Pfff...
Paintball is the sport of the real men
(or strikeball if you can find few more masochists :D )

Why is there a men's tee, and a women's tee? Surely if there's any sport where the physical differences between men and women doesn't matter, it's fucking golf.

There's not much difference in short holes (which are about accuracy more than sheer power), but in the longer ones there is a difference.

Generally, men can hit the ball further than women can. Hence women's tees. Without them, you'd have a situation where men would be expected to hit a par 4 and women a par 5 (for example).
