Holy hell, I must say I'm not surprised... I suppose that's just Snakes MO.

"One moment, I have you
The next, you are gone."

He's not crying because of regret, he's crying because another monster cutscene is coming.

Jesus Christ...I think I get it. Snake shaking people down for items, I guess?

This is not my favourite one of yours, dudes, and I'm a huge player of Metal Gear. Just gonna say that and let the inevitable shit storm run it's course.

Hell no would I even let Calumon NEAR this. Uh uh. No way.

wow man that was really dark... and not that funny...

Oddly enough i find that more humane than what some people will do to shut thier babies up.

Oh I felt bad for laughing at that. Surprised I didn't see the trademark "!" with it though.

idodo35:

Pretty much this.

I can see where you were going, but for a set up THAT dark you need a better punchline. Something people can't help but chuckle at, then feel bad for doing so. Snake killing his child, then crying over the items gotten from the corpse just doesn't do it.

Dark humor kind of carries the requirement of actually being funny. This is just needlessly dark.

Can we please go back to Erin's delusions now? Those are reliably interesting even when they're not being funny.

I... wait. Did Snake just kill that baby?

There's a storm coming.

Should have been Big Boss. It might have been funny if the baby got eaten.

I thought the same thing at first but one of the facebook comments reminded me you only get items from people if you knock them unconscious not actually kill them so he's just a bad father not a monster... or at least not as much of one.
Edit: but if it is like MGS then the baby may have [i]"disappeared"[/].

So is the punchline that he only knows how to choke, or that he killed the baby because he fears patricide? I disagree with the reading that it was to get items. Help me out here.

Jack and Calumon:
I'm a huge player of Metal Gear.

I too play Metal Gear and am very large.

well, that was a downer.

... Huh.

Yeah.

Well, this strip really was a critical miss.

That made me laugh more than it should have. Well done.

I'm not that large, though, I mean I can see my toes still.

Calumon: Not if you keep eating that cake, you won't.

Jack: SHUT UP! IT'S FRUIT CAKE! IT'S HEALTHY!

I get it... and it doesnt make it any better.

Dark, I get it, but still, dark!

I agree that was poorly thought out strip and they need to go back to Erin now.

Mokuren:
... Huh.

Yeah.

Well, this strip really was a critical miss.

ZING!

...

Yeah, I gave it a half-smirk. That's about it.

I object to this comic! Snake is sterile.

No that's not true. You can get items from dead guards. Dogtags require you to hold-up guards and have them shake them off while conscious, but there is one boss that you can get a dogtag from while dead, so even that isn't wrong.

Whoa man, that's heavy.

I don't get it... He tucks the baby back in and then sits around with his rations?

...

Oh...

Ooohhh...

Oh damn...

Wait a second... the baby didn't have a rattle? What the hell!?

(Snake... rattle... hehehe... I'm dumb)

I didn't get it at first because of the different robe colours. I thought there was another Snake or something.

I can't imagine not liking this strip because of it being dark or inappropriate, how many of you kill hundreds of people in video games for enjoyment? Either you're being oversensitive, or it's some kind of false outrage to take a stance against the comic. I don't get it.

Holy shit.. What is the point of this joke? Kill baby for loot?

Bit harsh

Well that was certainly... a comic.

Reminds me of the bad kind of "cringe" comedian. The ones where the amount of cringe you have to wade through far outweighs any existing traces of comedy.

Nikolaz72:

When you take down enemies in MSG they often drop items.
So yes, itīs "Kill baby, get loot."

burningdragoon:

Don't worry, you were still funnier than the comic...

Seriously though, I'm the kind of heartless piece of shite that will normally quite reliably laugh at dead baby jokes, because it's the shear taboo obscenity of them that makes them funny to me (to quote what I think is one of the truest lines of throwaway dialogue ever written into a game "Humour isn't about being nice, sometimes it's about airing out the ugly things that people think"). However, that wasn't even particularly obscene. It was... well I'm not quite sure what it was but it sure as hell wasn't funny. You try and play a dead baby joke straight and you don't have a dead baby joke, you just have a dead baby.

What was the punchline?

Well. This was a depressing comic. Thanks for that, guys.

Maybe we can go back to Erin being dangled out of a window for 20 strips? I'd prefer that to this.

Wow...that's...wow.

So, as a cartoonist, how do you recover from a move like that?

Kinda took me a while to figure out what happened in that strip, and I played Metal Gear Solid. :/

Blame it on PTSD? Not that it would make it any better.

The sarcastic comments at the end always ruin it. We get that you don't take no shit when creating your own web comic.

That's fine, we get it. Don't need to pretend its so crazy or so edgy that you have to head off some sort of fan rage by making the first hit by being sarcastic.

That's beside that I don't really get the comic, though I didn't play MGS.

NinjaDeathSlap:

Straight out of my own mouth, good man.

Seriously, this wasn't funny at all, and I'm generally all up for dark humour.
