Totally excited to go see this.. but this trailer wasn't particularly appealing. I appreciate the style and intent but far too many of the clips were actually from the first movie.

Yeah, that was pretty corny. The problem is the movie won't be that kind of corny. It's way too self-aware and pushing that whole over-the-top gore that got started in John Rambo. It's not 80's enough.

Hmm.... no Vandamme in the names there...

I find it funny that the latest Terra Online expansion Trailer requires me to enter my age but this video have enough gore and violence to make Kratos himself pause in appreciation have NO verification whatsoever...

This move better be at LEAST two hours long to give EACH star enough time to shine, the last movie was a sudden rush at the end that turned out to be a jumbled montage of explosives and gun porn with each actor switching scenes too fast to care whats going on

Agreed, worryingly I might actually watch this one. I saw the first one eventually and whilst I know it won't be great and it takes itself far too seriously for an action movie but my inner child enjoyed it all the same, and will probably enjoy the next one.

Why was so much of it from the first on? :s I'm getting an awful sense that "2nd verse, same as the first" is a tad too accurate.

Huh... well that was a little lazy using so much footage from the first movie, and I don't care if that was part of the point in aping that old ad style.

Still... even having seen the first and not being too terribly impressed, actually seeing Schwartzenegger back in action... that's weirdly tempting.

And it was actually pretty smart and a damn good movie, not to mention most of Rambo's weaponry was being clever and setting traps, and that had fantastic social commentary for the time...

Indeed. Apart from the ending. Should've ended like it was supposed to; would've made the movie so much better. :(

OT: Yeah, I might watch it... when it's on TV.

I cannot wait to see this film!

All I can think with that voiceover is Aliens... this time it's war.

I might go and watch that later. But do I go watch Expendable 2 this week, it's that or Ted, already seen everything else.

That's why they made it. In the special features on the first one Sly explains it as they just wanted to get together and do something over the top, ridiculous, and a throw back to the 80's action genera.
