And Now ... Politics!

In Loving Memory of Sandy

Screw you man, Lords reform is important!

"Fortunately, it can be easily reconfigured to work as a joke about British politics. All you need to do is make the news anchor less attractive, make the special effects a little shittier and replace all the exciting craziness with boring speeches about Lords reform."

I find that offensive yet accurate

Republicans talk about being "pro-life," but in the end...

I guess the British have different definition of what it is to do "the Lord's work".

I love that song!

Also, awesome comic, as a Canadian, American politics are like newspaper funnies, they're way more interesting and hilarious than anything else in the papers.

Every year, hundreds of English Lords are slaughtered by poachers. They are hunted for their OAP bus passes, which are often sold on the black market for as little as 3.50 each.

This noble species is also thoroughly plagued by muttershanks and wrecked attention; a consequence of the relentless, sleep-in, pyjama protests they are forced to endure from the invasive attempts from the neighbouring Commons.

Only with your help, and support, can the Lords be saved from extinction. Without it, these magnificent creatures will undoubtedly go the way of the shilling and popular comprehension of the word "ranygazoo".

and this is why 'The Newsroom' is the best thing to have come on TV for a long time.

Oddly enough, I'm pretty sure Death co-opting with the Republican news is the exact plot to the new Devil May Cry. That one panel looks to be a better story than what's being shown in DMC.

Does the bill to outlaw death make it illegal to die or make that Death himself is illegal which means he'll be in jail& therefore not able to kill people?

-M

I'm American and I still don't get it.

Hey, its not their fault people choose to die!

Yeah, I'm scratching my head as well. Then again... it's too fucking early to think :(

So...Is this going to be their next thing now?

It's going from game humor, to erin's bizarre psychopathy episode, back to game humor, and now real life topical commentary?

Here's to hoping this was a one time thing, it was funny, but something tells me this would get old really quickly.

The joke is basically "American Politics is one big reality show now!" Though I could also be wrong I guess.

As an American, I can say the same damn thing. lol

Where's the joke Buckley?

"Muffins are tasty" by @Homeless_Frank is more newsworthy than 80% of so-called "news" on my local channel.

You forgot blind Thatcher-hate based on nothing.

If you think that's funny Then you should see whats goes down during election season. I always thought politics was like if the cast of dragon ball z was replaced by a bunch of old rich dudes, 5 hours of yelling and spamming flaming money balls at each other.

The left are too far right in the UK in my opinion.

I take offence to that last one!

Our news reporters are naturally beautiful, your news reporters need make up and plastic surgery to make them look like that.

And at least the Lord's Reform debate goes somewhere. American news programmes are all the same:

'The liberals attempt to pass a bill today fell through when the Republicans voted against it like they always do. We now go to our man on the spot, who has been getting the opinion of the people.'

'I THINK THE SOCIALIST NAZI OBAMA IS BRINGING THIS COUNTRY DOWN!'

'hat's very interesting, now we turn to a democrat supporter.'

'THE REPUBLICANS EAT BABIES AND WANT TO RAPE ALL WOMEN'

'A balanced debate there, now we return you to the studio.'

In the words of Dara O'Briain 'bloke who's a professor of denistry for forty years does not have a debate with some eejit who removes his teeth with string and a door!' People who have no idea about what they're talking about have no business being on the television.

damned liberals with their objection to death...

Less attractive?
Allow me to introduce you to Susanna Reid.

You also neglected to mention that you should also drastically reduce the amount of fear mongering in the news.

Bertylicious:

Yeah, exactly! It has severe implications for the democratic future with regards to unbiased representation. But... it is quite boring.

mad825:

Yeah, but let's face it, in a democracy political parties are always going to be too far towards the center for some people simply because the extremes themselves are undemocratic by nature (i.e. communism and fascism).

NinjaDeathSlap:

Amen, brother.

It's funny to think that Republicans today would call almost any Republican from 10 years ago a disgusting socialist. Hell, by their standards today, Reagan was a goddamned liberal.

On second thought, no, it's not that funny.

MelasZepheos:

*whispers* Psst... Carter is British... or... non-American, my bad.

MelasZepheos:

I would agree with that statement just so that reality TV would be scrapped by definition.

Unless the news programme is the one show in which case its: "thank you for that deeply moving account of the famine in Mozambique - and now the Lenny Henry's going to talk to us about pasties!"

I don't really get it.

Then again, that kinda sums up my whole understanding of American politics.

Fah! I am a proper English-man! With a top hat and a monocle and tea drinking while speaking the Queen's Received Pronunciation! I can tell from his humour that Carter is one of the base Cockney folk!

Never mind Susanna Reid, get a load of this stunner

OT - love the comic. British political debate is exactly the same. Playing the blame game is an easy way to avoid actual issues I guess.

Can we get some fan art of the girl in the pink tube top?

She's hot.

Honestly Mr. Carter I'd take your boring house of lords giving speeches on land reform any day of the week over this clown car of political discourse used in America.
