"Just a Rat"

Hehe, nice comic as always.

To reply to the current slight off topic in here, this is why you don't go through the vents:

Imp Emissary:

Moonlight Butterfly:
In video games it's never 'just a rat' unless it's a giant rat. A poisonous giant rat.

o_0 Where did that thing come from?! If that's what they find in the vents no wonder they can think that guy is a rat!

FantomOmega:

lacktheknack:
Mirror's Edge at least attempted to reference this.

<THUNK THUNK THUNK .... WHAM THUNK THUNK>

"Jesus, the rats are getting big in here!

Then, if you played your cards right,

Wh-WHAT THE HELL IS THAT!??

That thing is as big as a CAR!!

bwahahaha those posts made my day. That gif is awesome.

I think it would reflect reality better if the last two panels were switched... I mean, I am sure those sounds come from clumsy ninjas, I just know it!

FantomOmega:

As they said, "Jesus, the rats are getting big in here..."

"Real Life"?

What's that?

Moonlight Butterfly:

and always ugly.

Is that Erin's boss doing the shoplifting in the first panel?

I dont even know whats real anymore! love it

The most immersion-breaking part of Deus Ex: Human Revolution was the so-called "intellicams".

I always figured a futuristic security camera would be about the size of those fire suppression sprinklers, instead of A GINORMOUS FREAKING 3D IMAX CAMERA.

Heh, love the laser "tripwire". Yeah. Makes zero sense.

Thats realistic, but also pretty fucking hard to get pass. With the big ones, gamers can atleast figure out when to move. Well... if they dont bother to turn the cameras off first... makes everything easier...

I met Cory at the Expo! :D bought a sketch of Erin as the heavy and he gave me one he was doing of her as the sniper too ^.^ Cory, thank you so much! I feel so bad about not having more money to pay you for them both, it was so generous i personaly vow that i will pay you double for both at the next convention!!!

It's funny because vidyagames.

Amirite?

It gets worse, guys.

In Pokémon Black and White 2, the Castelia City sewers have Rattatas.

Bearing in mind Unova is based off NYC...these are the Pokémon equivalents of New York rats.

At least we now know where Joey gets his.

Or Rat-Folk if you're in certain RPGs, And then they're usually Ninjas as well anyways so, yeah...

...Master splinter; Duct Crawling, Ninja, Rat-person.

I think it's a Dark Souls rat.

Yeah it is. It's a small one too.

If your vents are large enough to accommodate that then I want to know what your facility is up to.

I love the guy's expression in the second panel. Something like intrepid stupidity.

Monster_user:
The "Just a rat" guy sort of looks like the Rat King from the Ninja Turtles.

I thought that too.

I like this comic, though in real life, you wouldn't see any lights with laser security systems. Such systems in reality use infra red lasers, which are invisible to the naked eye and simply cannot be beaten by methods seen in video games and movies. On the plus side, they won't slice through your flesh.

Souplex:
Is that Erin's boss doing the shoplifting in the first panel?

Yep, I'm positive that's Sharon, the Bitch-Boss. Is petty shoplifting beneath her, though, or totally in character?

Fortunately not like an actual rat king, boy that would have made the strip make a lot less sense.

Or they could have just said, "Jensen has an augment that lets him detect cameras and track their field of view, regardless of how small or how well-hidden they are". I mean, the bastard has an aug that lets him see through walls, for God's sake. Figuring out where a camera is shouldn't be that much harder.

Nah, thank you guys! It was really cool meeting someone who liked my art so much and I did make that sniper with you in mind. You guys were one of my highlights of the weekend

As for next time I will probably switch my "business" model over to something that Graham recommended. He said Kathleen and Leels do sketches for tips at cons so whatever works. I figure I won't really make a ton of cash at these events so meeting up with fans and giving them something they can really enjoy will be enough!

I still gotta say thank you :) I framed them both with the sniper slightly lower on the left. In other words Erin(sniper) is aiming at Erin(heavy) trying to pick up the gun. :D Makes me laugh and think about it as if she has a split personality for each TF2 character.

Next time maybe print a few panels from you're facorite comics(or bring originals if you ever drew them on paper before puting them up online?) and just sign and sell those :) I'm sure people will buy them.

o.o that's something i meant to ask that i never did! D: haha, wanted to ask what some of you're personal favorites were? ^^'

Haha that is an awesome way to place those. But at some point we do want to start selling prints of comics that people could order. One of my first favorites was the break down of goods and bads of halo reach. Also the Nyankatze and skyrim ones we did were some of our best jokes. Art wise I really enjoyed our rage strip from last year, it actually got my non-gamer uncle to laugh which is always a good thing.

I loved the skyrim and rage ones! Even though i don't even own a PS3 or killzone 3 i LOVED the killzone comic. It was just my kind of humor i guess ^^' not sure why but that one made me laugh so hard i still remember it even with my horrible memory ._. I also loved the Link story-line, i called it on the first page but still loved how they interected with each other. It was really entertaining chemistry where even though i guessed the hell out of it being link(got lucky but i kept bragging about it ^^' sorry!) i never expected how they would react to each other next. When she got pushed out of the window i could NOT WAIT for the next page. ^.^ tell Grey he did good and a group of random friends on the internet said so!

That is so cool! Yea we have some plans ahead for what we are going to do story and character wise, story things may be happening more organically in the near future though. But the "link" character wasn't hidden terribly well so we wanted to show a bit of his character and it's great you were entertained by what we did accomplish.

He doesn't like the mole on his nose. Other than that, he likes his face, and wants to show it to the world.

yes... I'm sure that's it...
