Excuses

It was a really good idea.

Its remarkable both fire's occurred at the same time of day too! :p

Now I'm picturing Erin slowly walking down the street, whistling 'Do you believe in magic' and its terrifying...

At least now she didn't kill the stray cat.

Is this supposed to be one of those "spot the differences between the two pictures" activities that you find in those magazines at doctor's offices? I think the magazines is called Highlights?

Which guy did she punch this time? I've been re-reading the entire series and GRACIOUS but Erin's been a basket case since day one.

*fan whine* Bring back Penny and her Fillion obsession!!!!

I'd forgotten Penny, literally forgotten about her--we haven't seen her since she broke the 4th Wall during the ME3 riots.

I like that the Before has an earlier hair design for Erin.

Well if Erin been ben playing Fallout 3 instead she wouldn't have done it.

So Erin is the Pyro?
>_> Now it all makes.....:D Still no sense!;p

But like someone said before; At least this time the cat didn't die....>_> but another person did...

The sad part is that the "I am crazy" reason is the best one.

That's because Penny didn't just break the 4th Wall, 0_0 she went through it...

So...are they friends again or what? Can time somehow heal the wound of "Nearly being killed by a friggin' XBox"?

Also, didn't she learn to handle her psychoses better in the last arc?
Also, also, was she fighting Red or Blue?

I think they are colleagues, also I think the one she's talking to is her sister. And she's not fired. And obviously she was fighting blue, look at the house.. unless friendly fire.

CZ,

I am going to say that this one refers to the guy who was hanging her out the window who turned out to be the ever-suffering Link. Lets face it, he as a thing for "Princess-saving" that he takes a lot of crap over and gets little reward.

If she is still crazy then what's the point of all the stuff Link did?

Er... This strip feels really negative about people with mental illness. I'm sure most people in Erin's position don't try to use their illness/disability as a excuse for every unacceptable thing they do.

Not sure I'm a fan of the flicking back and forth between "Erin is a zany loony" and "Erin is a tragic victim of mental illness who seems destined to drive away everyone she loves".

Shadowstar38:

Well, she's back at work and not starting punch-ups in bars. Slight improvement...?

Shadowstar38:

It's not so much that Erin is still crazy, but rather she was always a bit crazy.

I guess punching people is a step up from arson. The path to good halth is paved with fist fights?

So basically, she was always like this, but when she started seeing videogame characters, it really took it to the next level.

Well, it now seems she doesnt need those VGC to stay at the level of crazy.

Which raises the question Erin: Do you believe in magic?

Yeah, but now it doesn't seem as fun as it use to be.

She was always a bit psychotic, but it use to be in an almost endearing way.
Now Erin is more like the kind of person who you try not to sit next to on the bus out of fear.

Uh oh... Erin's figured out she not legally responsible for anything she does now...

Erin Stout--Manic Pixie Dream Girl.

Oh, right. Not all dreams are good, and not all pixies are friendly. Though, I hope she doesn't use her illness as a continuous excuse. It should be used as a crutch to try and improve, not a shield to try and forgo blame or repercussions.

Arson is more meaningful in the waning hours. This is commonly accepted fact. It allows people to get in a mindset to appreciate the sublime in losing their worldly possessions. Also, easier to see what's already on fire.

maybe she likes cats enough to not set them on fire?

granted she tried throwing an Xbox at some one she liked but maybe animals get some sort of free pass

I love the subtlety. In the before panel, Erin's hair is reminiscent of older comics.

Aye, I was looking at the cop's watch - even down to the minute! ;)

The middle panel of Erin is honestly funny to think about, with her explanation on TF2 being the reason haha. However it's disturbing to imagine your mind like the Pyro's for making smores can really be you burning a cat alive without realizing it. Dark I know...

Erin is the Pyro.

Can't say I'm surprised.

I hear comedians sometimes make fun of other people.

I know, I was surprised too.

Seriously though, I sincerely doubt they deliberately were trying to offend people with psychological issues, nor were they making a sweeping statement about their behaviour. I am not sure why people are getting so tetchy about everything nowadays, even bad humour has always been recognised for what it is, but now it's like everybody wants to be offended on purpose.

Mental issues are always excellent excuse
On the other hand good intentions are even better :D

I don't mean to complain, but could we get back to strips about Erin ripping on video games? All this angsty drama is getting under my skin a bit.

Dohohoho. I see what was done there, and I approve.

Ooo ooo oo Cop is writing left handed!

>_>

I notice things like this

Everyone knows fire is prettier at night.
