I'm surprised that The Hunger Games wasn't mentioned. It's yet another blandly written love-triangle book series with an inexplicably "special" female lead based on a mythos mostly ripped from other sources. I guess the only thing it's lacking is monsters.
Honestly the only one that I'm going to dread in the future is the film adaption to 50 Shade of Grey which apparently is in the work. Need I remind you that book originally start off as a Twilight fanfic.
Typical of the film industry, it's also why we're getting tons of superhero movies now, why back in the day we had a western glut, then Crime drama, then sci-fi. The movie business is not original
I heard about Warm Bodies as "Twilight with zombies" and I almost felt physically sick, but after seeing the trailer I was pleasantly surprised to see a funny and fun looking film
Of course a trailer can look great and a film awful, but I'm cautiously optimistic

It had the tracker-jack uber bees and those wolf...things at the end I suppose?
I too am surprised that it didnt get a mention here
How about a decent reboot to the His Dark Materials franchise? I hope the Mortal Instruments series, if it takes off, includes a big lovey dovey sex scene just before the big reveal. I actually want to be in the audience of teenage girls when they find out what they just watched.
Captcha: And that's the way it is.
Yes, teenage girl audience, that is the way it is.
Warm Bodies does look pretty fun. I have no problem with movies trying to win the Twilight crowd as long as the movies that come out of it are better then Twilight.
I'll third the surprise that Hunger Games wasn't mentioned at all. It completely fits the whole 'appealing to teenage girls' thing and has the added bonus of having already had one very successful movie. Obviously with only 3 books total it won't be the Next Big Thing for many years, but I think it's got a pretty good shot at least for the next year or two.

Ditto. Colour me surprised that The Hunger Games didn't get a mention. Perhaps because that series has already kicked off?

he mentioned that Vamps thing and I Am Four as failed attempts though, so you would think he would hit on Hunger Games as either a success or failure, though it might be too early to tell which it falls into.

Kudos for this. I went and read it myself after watching the video to see what Bob is taking about. Wow.

I don't know why but I always get too angry at seeing two guy-one girl love triangles. I always try to find to opposite after seeing those by mistake but never succeed. This episode kind of angered me again because of that reason. Does anyone know any movie that features the opposite love triangle?
Scarim Coral: Honestly the only one that I'm going to dread in the future is the film adaption to 50 Shade of Grey which apparently is in the work. Need I remind you that book originally start off as a Twilight fanfic.
If that movie ever comes up (still hoping it will end up in development hell but pretty sure it will still be made) I'm pretty sure they will cast those hacks from CW shows more specifically Gossip Girl.

For some reason my straight A younger sister likes Hunger Games. The mythos you are talking about is Battle Royale. Which its author claims she didn't even know BR when writing it. Yeah, typical American plagiarism. I'm surprised she gotten away and made a crapton of money with it.
See these concepts all sound like gold on paper to me. But then a lot of ideas sound good on paper and it is usually the execution that determines how good or bad it is. To quote Bob "You can make a movie out of anything. Even if you have to rip its guts out to do it."
SO maybe this host movie will be good because of the writter involved. Gattaca is still one of the most compelling, thoughtful, entertaining, and smart Science Fiction movies I have ever seen. So if that writer(Andrew Niccol) is working on "The Host" or whatever its called I have hope it will be good despite its roots.
It was fucking dire. I watched it hoping it would cross the so bad it's good line, but it didn't. It was just straight up fucking bad.
That zombie one however, that looks promising.
And Meyer did a sci-fi book set in the body snatchers universe....... who okayed that? You already sullied vampires, stay the fuck away from Sci-fi woman... Stay the fuck away.
Edit: As for that last one.
They're called Nephilim.
If you're going to used established races, don't make up random names for them to make them sound cooler. The sons/daughters of man and angel are called the Nephilim. No shadow-sausages, or whatever two words you crammed together to make them sound cool.
ZOMBIES!? A supernatural romance flick where one of the people involved should be a shambling flesh/brain eating corpse!? Are you fucking with me!? At least vampires are known for talking and NOT rotting!
Oh lord. That's it. We're done people. Pack it in, sanity has left the building. Nothing left but to try and enjoy insanity.

They could milk it for up to 4 more movies spanning the next 6 years I'd think, but the Wikipedia synopsis makes it sound like a major, near un-film-able bummer. I think, given how much money the first one made someone has got to try! EDIT: Looks like they'll try: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1951264/
