| This story is absolutely hilarious to read now in retrospect. It looks like the sun definitely set on Mario, in fact last year it set to the tune of 6 million Wii consoles and 8.5 million DS consoles, landing the big N first and second place in sales for the year. And even more Wii consoles would have sold if Nintendo could have stepped up production. |
| The arguments didn't sound convincing even then. Time still shows that japanese games can surprise people. They're just not the only ones. He was just extreme in his opinion, and games like Shadow of the Colossus or Super Mario Galaxy proved that there's still good to expect from japanese games that "move". |
