E3 2007: Spending Time With Lucasarts
"LEGO Star Wars: The Complete Saga is the first game where you can swing a lightsaber with the Wii remote. It will not be the last."
Our time at Lucasarts was well spent. We found what might possible be our next favorite party game, got a look at two new games featuring exciting technologies and saw the first-ever use of the Wiimote to swing a lightsaber. These are days when one loves ones job.
I've been looking forward to "The Star Wars Project" on a purely technological level ever since I saw some articles about what they were working on. It really does have the potential to revolutionize the state of game engines, and might be a very good use of all that processing power todays systems are flinging about.
Cool to see a new push into creativity with Lucasarts. Funny how weak they've shown on film and tv (cough, ewoks? You have a whole universe to create a made for tv movie and you choose ewoks and a creepy blonde kid?)yet their star wars games have been mediocre to stellar and their created content was pretty slick, like grim fandango.
