Review: Audiosurf

Review: Audiosurf

"Like many other racing games, Audiosurf can import music from your collection - including CD audio, MP3s, M4As, WMAs and OGGs. Unlike those other games, Audiosurf actually analyzes each track you upload and generates a course specific to that song, using the primary instruments to place colored blocks and tempo to alter the elevation of the highway."

Just in time for its release on Steam, Corvus Elrod reviews Audiosurf.

I concur - everyone reading needs to check this one out. At the very least, jump into Steam and check out the demo. I'm looking forward to trying it out on my home PC this weekend.

If you have it available, I suggest the JXL Radio Edit of A Little Less Conversation (off Elvis 30 #1 Hits) as a fun ride ;)

Thank you! I didn't know it was on steam, I was going to wait until tomorrow to get the demo, now I can have a sample of it now ^^

You can get the full version on steam right now for 10 bucks. Well worth the purchase, and its so cheap its hard to say no.

Cool idea! I wonder what kind of track a death metal song would generate ^^

Hopefully i will never know.

The game sounds well worth trying out.

Edit: After playing the demo i find myself craving for more. This is way better then Guitar Hero.

I 100% Agree with this review.

This game is fun and addictive, and it is really nice to have an excuse to listen to some of that huge chunk music that takes up so much space on my hard drive, since I rarely just turn in on, sit and listen.

Also from a puzzle stand point this game is very fun well designed and has enough variety to keep you coming back for more. One of the best and most innovative "casual" games I have ever played.

The core of the game is simple and does always stay the same though, so I would not say that I would pay more than $10 but for the price I do feel like I got a good game, which to be honest does not happen a lot of times with a $50 game.

Guitar Hero meets Tetris and you control the song list. Extremely fun, and you will find yourself really getting into some of your favorite songs, I found myself moving my whole body with my little ship on the screen to hit the beets of my favorite songs.

I just went through the entire Leftfield album, Leftism, with this on elite eraser mode and it was excellent! Got a fair few high scores as well.

Edit: Actually I'd say guitar hero meets Klax, but I'm an old bastard and the majority of people that play this game won't have a clue what Klax is.

This game totally rocks!! which is why I have done the leisure of making 25 min mixes (the max time the game will handle)
Alot of the Techno mixes are live mixes as I am a DJ and Producer.
(So look at the list on the download site for stuff made by me :))

The mixes consist of Mainly Techno and Rock, but will also have hip-hop and other genres for your Audiosurfing pleasure.

The Rock and other mixes I do for fun with a great program. I have a HUGE Song library and
will take requests of songs you all want to hear made into a 25 min mix.

Just PM me with a track list

Go to this website for the downloads!

ENJOY!

disclaimer
I do not sell or make profit off these mixes as I do them for fun, and its good practice. If you are a promoter and like my
mixes please PM me or email me and I will send you a full 320 set. All tracks of artists and songs played/mixed are posted
on the website above in the comments before the download. I do not take any responsibility if a song is taken from the mix
and used in any way shape or form to make money off of it. (If it were me i'd pay royalties).
