roflmao, good stuff.

"I'm not gay, non of us are, that's why we all fight each other..in pants"

i especially liked the bit with the arse.

Acting is much better but still doesnt beat resident evil. Cant wait to see the second part.

Pacing is still too slow.

A man in drag tends only to be funny to the people who know him.

That... was actually pretty good ^^

Another movie, another style!

Great.

Cool costumes!

i can no longer count the number of people who have seen my boyfriend's ass on one hand...

can't wait to see part two guys, although i won't pretend the cross-dressing doesn't freak me out slightly!!! :S

Crossdressing is only funny to Brittish people. And also, by extension, Australian people, I suppose. But to us Yanks, its just disturbing.

Pacing is still a little slow, yes, and it's not nearly as good as Resident Evil, but it's on par with Gordon and the News. I miss the Chris Slack reporter accent.

1) Original plot "+"
2) "Inventive" costumes (especially the Goro one) "+"
3) No good jokes (I didn't laugh once) "-" x2
4) Sub-Zero doesn't live in Outworld (I won't give a "-" for this, but it does bug me...)
5) Sweet acting with Goro "+"
6) Bad acting with Sub-Zero "-"

All in all, average. Hope you guys pull more off in part two...

That was funny, plus, it made a lot more sense than both of the other Mortal Kombat movies.

I don't think I will EVER be able to scrub that image from my brain.

Borat's Mankini was less disturbing...

Crossdressing is only funny to Brittish people.

No...And anyway, how do you explain American Wrestling?

It was all right. Bit of a step down from Resident Evil and the Half-life episodes, but it was still entertaining.

I dont. Thats a whole lot of 'splanin ta do, and I'm not up to the task. America has alot to answer for, but our wrestling tops the list, right up there with Hiroshima, Nagasaki, American Idol, and Iraq.

Okay, fine, then who DOES find a drag act funny? I thought it was a brittish cultural institution, like witty dialogue, excessive ethnocentrism, and tea.

Mairsil, dear chap, most of us Brits drink coffee for a start. :)

Drag acts are found funny, mostly, by Transvestites, Politicians, Grannies, Rugby Players and little more.
And that's usually because they harbour desires to do it.

Is that picture what I think it is?

You need some pants.

... Your picture + your name = Bad, really bad.

Excuse me, are you our new troll, or just creapy as all hell?

I don't really like mortal combat (Havent played it in years dont yell) But funny at parts

His name is obviously John Therapist, and Sonic is giving that..other one Physiotherapy.

De-rez is every two weeks is it not?

Pretty awesome.

Having seen the Mortal Kombat movie, yeah I think thats exactly what Jonny Cage would be doing with his time.

Ah, the Rugby players. Say no more. They're also responsible for the fake rubber breasts, yes?

Seriously, though; I'm being intentionaly ignorant and steriotypical. To make fun of us americans, you see.

I was never that in to mortal Kombat, myself. I always preferred Killer Instinct for my pixelated blood and gore fix, back in the day. Now, I play with cutsey nintendo characters who just knock eachother offscreen. And...its more fun. much much more fun, than all the gore in the world.

Lol, I gotta give you guys kudos for taking a very hard (and often very failed) concept. Solid episode.

As far as comparing it to Resident Evil goes, you guys displayed perfection very early on so you're bar has been hoisted pretty high for a new show, don't let any "not as good as RE" comments get you down, it's still solid ^_^.

Great effort with this, so much better than the first one or two!

I'd say this episode has the besting production (costumes and acting etc), but wasn't as funny as the rest of them!

I know lot of people in all the comments have slagged you off about the constant firing of jokes (e.g. Yahtzee or whatever he's called on his comment on News), but I liked that! I WANT MORE LAUGHS! The only thing I didn't like about them was when you tried to hard at each joke, milking them for every drop or making sure we understand it. Subtlety is key!

Oh, and does anyone else see the parallels between this and the Street Fighter "Where are they now?" videos that were going around the internet a while back? It's been a while since I saw them, maybe I'm just being a bit stupid . . .

Peace.

P.S. I want to see more Buckfast cameos!!!

I liked the part how Scorpions a japanese harpooner. I can actually picture him hauling a whale onto a ship with his harpoons. I also liked the part with Jonny Cage's 'gun show' in the end credits.

Mairsil the Pretender:

Ah, the Rugby players. Say no more. They're also responsible for the fake rubber breasts, yes?

And they're the ones lauded for being sportsmanlike? I've seen Professional Boxers do less damage.

Seriously, though; I'm being intentionaly ignorant and steriotypical. To make fun of us americans, you see.

It is rather amusing when you get a "US Americans are all right but all you Brits are Racist!" threads that come up; usually because the two main combatants are fully aware of their shallow stereotyping; and actually play to it. Now I've just got to visit the Queen for my cucumber sandwiches.

(And heaven help Yahtzee with the Stereotypical Aussie; especially a Pom who's gone down under)

Streetfighter 2 had a great set of characters, good music and simplistics controls that you can pull of some frightening combos. MK/KI etc. just added some moves that you'd have to perform by borrowing the fingers of your neighbours hand to perform and the end bosses could only be beaten by racking up the Flying middle Punch, half circle with kick, strong punch, half front circle with light kick combos.

The Fatalities were nice if you were in an Arcade and you really wanted to nark someone off; but unless you practiced them for hours; it was sheer luck whether they happened.

And then MK3 added a run button, and then weapons (And gave Reptile the rottenest ending since Gen-An in Samurai Showdown).

'Twitch' machines like KI/MK just have legions of Smoke wannabes pulling off the same unblockable combo; StreetFighter 2(Vanilla) at least gave you the chance to win without Fireball,Fireball,Dragon Punch.

There were some good gags in this one, but the fellow in drag didn't strike me as funny. It was just creepy as hell. I'll stick it out for next week's episode, but I don't know how much breast fondling dude I can take.

At the risk of sounding horribly trollish, I stopped about 30 seconds in because the sound mixing was horrible and I could already see how shit it was going to be with the cross dressing.

Not that I have anything against cross dressing, but overtones of annoyance were seeping through my eyeballs.

Sorry de-rez, your first video was s**t, then they started to become AS FUNNY AS ZERO PUNCTUATION. Please don't do a part 2 because this is going back to hitman, which only had one good joke.

I have to side with sirdanrhodes - this episode wasn't that funny. An interesting premise (violent game characters constrained by a banal bureaucracy) gets bogged down by not doing anything particularly inventive with said premise. Compare with url=]http://www.collegehumor.com/video:1711287]Street Fighter: the later years.[/url] Street Fighter takes the mundane mixed with the surreal, making a funny and engaging story that plays well off of audience expectations and carefuly timed of jokes. The humour sustains itself by focusing the jokes on a specific focus - namely, that of superheroes experiencing a mid-life crisis.

Mortal combat, unfortunately, didn't work the same way - The jokes spin out and seem amateurish, not following along with the premise of otherworldly creatures having to dodge a bunch of red tape. To often the talk wears down and doesn't his home the same way.

Please, talk to Yahtzee - he knows how to write humor well, and I'm sure he'd be happy to lend advice to a fellow Escapist contributor, provided he's not up to his arse in headcrabs.

Some really funny points, as already mentioned there
"I'm not gay"
"No none of us are that's why we fight in our pants"
was the funniest bit of the ep for me, though whoever in drag has scarred me for life, splashing bleach in my eyes would have been less painful.

I love this stuff, but, I don't think you will ever top "news" and "resident evil". EVAH!
Doesn't mean I didn't like this one. I gotta admit though..it was a bit disturbing (you know who I'm talking about.)

It's quite obvious that Gorro in his first shot is smoking Mayfair dark and in the last shots is holding a Lambert and Butler. A little attention to detail guys.

Rhy-den, not ray-den.

"I think you should leave..."

love it
