Or maybe, as my coworkers have suggested, I exist in a perpetual state of anger and confusion with Peggle as my only lifeline.

AND, you're a robot. A cruel, unfeeling, robot.

Maybe I'm just the exception, again, but Peggle has the tendency to bring out the curse words in me. Real screaming, chair-rocking, cat frightening swearing...

Well then, by definition, he can't be a robot.

You can't exist in a state of anger and be unfeeling.

You don't need emotions to be cruel.

Anyway, although I'm miserable most of the time for no good reason, I'm very wary of Peggle. Yes, it makes you feel good - when you're playing it. As you've mentioned in the article the games that have sucked you in have caused you to shut in on yourself, and that's the problem. Something that's good for you in life will make you feel good after you've done it. With addictive games you only feel good while you're playing it.

Well technically thats true, but robots always try to destroy humanity so its only natural to assume that they are programmed to be angry

I'm sure this can easily be connected to all the research done by casinos to keep you playing - back when they used coins, or for the casinos that still do, they shape all the dishes on the machines so that when a coin hits it, it rings out in the note of C - most pleasing to the human ear.
