The Fable II Contest You NEED To Enter!

image

What's better than the chance to win a copy of Fable II, an Xbox 360 Elite and a Samsung 37" 1080p HDTV? Two chances!

Here's The Deal

Entering our Fable II contest is simple: just fill out your information and you're automatically entered into a random drawing for the prize pack. In addition to providing your vital stats (name, address, ice cream preference, that sort of thing), you'll also be asked to choose your alignment: good, neutral or evil. The skin on our site will change to reflect your choice of alignment. Here's the twist -- the winner will be chosen from the alignment with the FEWEST votes.

So that's one chance to win some pretty sweet prizes, but we promised you two. Play the Fable game in your profile at least five times (you can play once per day between now and October 24th), and you'll automatically be entered in the drawing for a second time but ONLY if you've already entered the contest. Here's the catch - your second entry will be under the faction that you end up in as a result of your game choices!

That's two chances to nab some killer prizes, so SIGN UP NOW!

NOTE: This is for USA residents only and you must be 18 years or older to participate. Sorry, but that's what the lawyers required.

This looks awesome. Too bad I can't enter the contest. Stupid age requirements. >.>

Age schmage, you'll get older in time, try being on the other side of the world :(

Entered, checked the little box that said "good". That should separate me from all the unwashed, soulless masses...

or...everyone else will put good hoping that everyone else will put evil

Just my two cents, but provided nobody thinks too deeply about it, neutral will always get the least votes on a "true" personality test. Honestly, how many people actually played more neutral characters than good or evil characters in Fable, KOTOR, or any other game with an allignment system?

God, I hope not. What a group of shameless posers...

... and mexico too ... please?... :( i will go for the tv... :'(

oh man, you do not know how much I want that 360, with my current budget I can't afford one right now.

That bit about "chosen from among the least" makes the game a variation on the Prisoner's Dilemma and really forces someone to think "should I game the system and try to guess which will have the least or just answer honestly because everyone else gaming the system will cancel each other out and make it a game of chance?"

Anyway, I chose Neutral because it reflects me fairly well---I always score some variation of Chaotic Neutral or True Neutral on D&D-style alignment tests.

Why only the US?

I love how incredibly difficult it must be to extend states contests to Canada. Like changing one line in the terms. "Valid in U.S. AND CANADA except for Quebec."

Fail :(

Plus+ People gaming the system will vote neutral or evil, people actually voting for how they play will cancel each other out. So vote good ;)

Stupid Americans...getting free stuff. :(

US residents only? Why? Isn't like 60 % of the readers NOT from the US?
And it's not like the Escapist can't afford the shipping fee.
This is rubbish. You're letting us down Escapist.

Why 18?

Can non-Americans still do the quiz thingie but not be entered to get the prize? That's be cool. Also, with all this money the Escapist has now, maybe next time we could have the contest in the top three Escapist countries? Or something?

Oh, and people, it's because of all the legal stuff, to have it in other countries, you need more lawyers.

I live in the UK but my cousin lives in New York, can I enter and get you guys to send it to his address? Then he can bring it with him when he comes home for Christmas.... a longshot I know but here's to hoping.

A) No, >50% are from the US
B) There are a lot of very complicated rules about contests in every country of the world. We are purchasing and sending out the prizes for this one, and with a relatively high dollar value attached to them we can't afford to be caught by them. Our lawyers say US only.

It's not a matter of shipping, or even tariffs. Blame the politicians.

Yeah, for once I'm annoyed to be Scottish.

If the entry has a US mailing address, we will send it to them. That is how we determine 'residency' for contests.

The game, and the badge, are available to everyone. Head to your profile to play ;)

So it's perfectly fine for non-americans to enter, so long as they're over 18 and provide a USA mailing address?

It's perfectly fine for US residents to enter. A US resident is anyone who provides us a US mailing address. :)

Does it count if we would do evil things to get the Xbox and HDTV?

"yawn"; was more fun when there wasnt an overly pretentious contest to go with it tbh

If the game is rated M, why can't 17 year olds enter?

Not Canada? Augh! What if I have a mailing address in the states?? I have family there! Crap, I already entered!

Oh cruel fate!

I accidently entered without realising it was for Americans only. Sorry.

/fingers in ears

Lalalalalala! Oh! US address...

/mail prize

I'm old enough

lets hope I win so they have to mail stuff to England!

Yeah expensive to recieve! I mean receive, do i mean recieve? Is the whole thing wrong there?
It looks so wrong...

Anyways, I hope I win, my current xbox went on one red light the other day, so I did the old macroshaft off and on again magic, and the old baby worked again!

old baby?
I'm seriously confused today...

DAGGIT! I don't turn 18 'til May. This is aggravating.

USA only? That's a pretty raw deal for most of the forum members isn't it?

TBF, it's a lawyer thing. IANAL but AFAIK it has to be 18 because of the associated work-laws/ownership/prizes and US only because of the legal ramifications of sending Electronica through the mail.

I know Pandora (internet music station) had to block all non-US IP's because of the media laws.

USA only

i figured as much , curse you world and all youre rules, curse you!

good luck to all contestants

I thought that poll was just a silly advertisement. Odd...
