Stairway to Heaven: Very good question.

Actually, I cannot stand any of the Guitar Hero etc games, but my boyfriend loves them for some reason. I think I'd like them if they had more cool 80's songs.

PS: I WAS AT EGAMES MELBOURNE AND DID NOT WEAR A SWEET HAT.

Huzzah for a short and catchy Deus Ex and Invisible War review!

Sigh ... I find it sad that Yahtzee, who seems to pride himself on not going along with the endlessly bleated opinions of gaming's many sheep, falls into the same trap of bashing DX2 because it's 'dumbed down'. DX2 streamlined the gameplay by getting rid of extraneous, pointless 'features', and provided an excellent and intellegent story that built and expanded on the themes of DX1.

They didn't put in stairway because it's one of the most overplayed songs ever made.

The review was funny but I'm sick of him reviewing all the games that I couldn't care less about lol :P I need reviews of far cry 2 (which I hate) left 4 dead (Which is awesome) and call of duty 5 (not played it :P)

im a real musician and play in a band so the entire concept of rock band, guitar hero ect ect makes me cringe somewhat...although the same could be said about soldiers in iraq and call of duty 4 i guess...o yeah and funny stuff as always yahtzee

Even though I was heavily amused with this review, I just really hated how he accused Harmonix for delaying it and charging more money for Rock Band, because it's really EA publishing that caused all of this. If Harmonix had Activision, Rock Band would have been in Australia a year ago.

I really, really want him to review Rock Band, because I'm pretty sure he forced himself to somewhat like Guitar Hero: World Tour. I'd think that he would like Rock Band 100% better than this piece of crap.

That Deus Ex song had me in tears. Genius, Yahtzee.

Stairway isn't in because Led Zeppelin never licenses their songs out, except to School of Rock and I believe one other thing. And Jack Black and a ton of people had to beg to get just the Immigrant Song on School of Rock. So there will be no Stairway.

Did the intro to this game freak anyone else out?

I'm serious, it was some weird shit...

Yes the story was ok even if it had holes but the game itself was...was....crappy....face it they tried to turn it into something that was mass consumable and failed... but cheer up bioshock managed to win everyone hearts.....except mine...gdamn rushed and unblanced average game is a insult to the SS name.....

How, exactly, was it crappy? It was incredibly faithful to the original game: lethal and non-lethal takedowns, multiple solutions to each problem, multiple possible builds for your character, character decisions impacting the plot. If you thought DX1 was crappy, then sure, you'd think the same of DX2, but I presume that's not what you think.

And what exactly about is supposed to 'mass-consumable'? It's still a game about politics and technology, as well as adding religion to the mix: it's not exactly Mario.

I'd also be interested in hearing what you think the plot holes are.

He didn't even mention that Clive Winston's back on the character roster. I'm slightly disappointed.

I noticed that also. After the ranting of GH3 about Clive, I thought that he'd be all over this.

Love it. Now do a Gears of War 2 review.

Just look though his list of reviews and find any review for any fps and watch it.

Bam, gears of war 2 review. :P

Technically Gears of War is not a fps because it is in third person.
But yeah, I see your point I just think there are lots of good jokes to be made about Gears of War 2 in particular. Hopefully you'll see what I mean if he reviews it next week.

Yeah... Yahtzee is definitely a closet jrpg/anime fan. He just concentrates too much on trying to make it seem that he hates them. :D

Not necessarily. He likes Eva (who doesn't?) and hates JRPGs (who in their right mind doesn't?).

the games probably don't have stairway to heaven because of copyright issues.
just wait. in about a week after this video is out, there will be at least 3 stairway to heaven cover made from the music creator.

Didn't research much on this one, Yahtzee?
Rock Band came out here about a week before Guitar Hero World Tour, and about $70 cheaper for the complete bundle. Yes, it took a year to get here from America, but EA are jerks like that. Rock Band 2 is rumoured to be coming out in February.
Activision have certainly done their fair share of douchery with GHWT, from publicly saying they were going to "exploit" their major franchises annually, to constantly badmouthing the quality of Harmonix's hardware, only to have their own hardware turn out just as faulty.

It was a well done review, cutting Harmonix down a peg (as we all should do to a game developer at least ONCE in our lives).

But EA are their distrubutors..... Not Harmonix.

Your right you do have to have a couple drinks in you to enjoy singing. I am an owner of rockband and former owner of GHWT. The game is decent with an B+ selection of tracks the a**holes that developled the hardware forgot to test what actually came out of these slave labor manufacturing plants in china. I opened the box and set everything up and once I tried to sing and I found out that the piece of shi* was DOA. So moving right along I decided to play some guitar. After 15 minutes of normal playing the strum bar broke and discontinued to click or register notes hit. I was lucky enough to buy this at a local sams club in the states which do not have a software return stip. Hoo ray. I bought some beer and still had 160 us dollars in my pocket and a case of Heineken to forget this terrible experince ever happened.

Almost, I liked the second game too. :)

Good video, but can we quit avoiding the issue and just review Gears 2 and that PS3 side scrolling thing that came out recently.
