No, I made the art before I'd had any coffee at all. This, clearly was a mistake. Apologies. Lemme jus' go ahead an fix that... |

I just haven't been able to really sink my teeth into LBP, it's plenty fun, I just haven't found it amazing... maybe I have some deep seated dislike of platformers... who knows. |

Well to be honest, I haven't found any game this year to be amazing, LBP included. However, LBP has been the most fun for me, so hence the reason it's my favourite game this year. Plus some of the levels people have made are mightly impressive and they help keep the game nice and fresh. |

I found LBP to be pretty ho-hum until we got some two-player co-op going, with several additional spectators. You're more likely to pull stupid stunts for fan approval, such as 'accidentally' falling off a racing skateboard for laughs or ruining the timing of a set of simultaneous swing jumps. The whole thing wallows in silliness and then someone else wants to jump in and play and before you know it, you stayed in and played video games instead of going to the bar with $20 cover. Win! But yeah, the next day I tried playing alone again and it wasn't nearly as good. |

Well, Susan isn't exactly Yahtzee, I'm pretty sure she actually enjoys games. |

Isn't that illegal? Although, I'm going to disagree with some of the selection mostly because I have a lot of differing opinions. Nothing against Susan Arendt, just a clashing of tastes. |

Definately, each to their own game preferences or we'd see a pretty stagnant gaming industry. I tend to like Susan's reviews and tastes even if I haven't played any of those 5 >< Do you know if any other Escapist staff are to post their top 5? |

On this site I think it might be... |

I never said she was Yahtzee, it's everyone to their own, I just don't like the majority of the games on this list. Try arguing freedom of speech on 4chan :( |

Man. I broke the law on every single one of my reviews, except for maybe my review of FF VII, if you count "Eh, it was alright" as "enjoy" or not. Hrm... Very well, I will heartily join Susan in illegally enjoying games. |

Way to start a revolution, the masses shall be shocked by people who actually "enjoy" playing videogames instead of just saying how much they hate them. Review wise I'm in the same boat, I tend not to finish games I don't like and hence I don't review them. |

*proudly breakin' the law, breakin' the law.... Yes, other members of the staff will be chiming in with their choices throughout the week. You may feel free to disagree with them, too. :) |

Unless I am mistaken, it is a flash game, found here. I encourage Susan to correct me if I'm wrong, though. |

Bingo. |

I might need to try this when I'm not... you know... supposed to be working. Foruming is one thing but actually playing games while on the clock strikes me as slightly amoral. |

If it makes you feel any better, I still feel guilty when I do it, too. No, seriously, I do. |
Press Junketeer Posts: 377 Joined: 10 Jun 2008 | Seeing LBP at #1 makes me feel like a not-so-secret-Santa genius. ;) I obviously need to check out this Dead Space thing, seeing how Susan loves it and Chris Kohler hates it. I kid your old boss, Ms. Arendt, really, I kid. |

Alright, please bring your card to the front so I can verify that you didn't accidentally misplace any markers. Nobody clear your cards until I've verified this. Otherwise, the list is pretty definitely much more diverse than I would expect of a "top games" roster. A casual game, a flash game, a jRPG, survival horror, and sandbox platformer. Huh. I wonder if composing my own list on Off-Topic would be considered spam? |

My job however isn't remotely game related, I'm supposed to be processing various reports and paper work regarding Land Acquisition for Resource Production... that really has nothing to do with games... |

Interesting...I want your job now for some reason. Being 'allowed' to play games. |

Who on these forums wouldn't want a job working for the Escapist? Unfortunately that would require moving to North Carolina, among other things, and I am WAAAYYYY to happy being a Canadian to move to the US for any reason. |

I would move to North Carolina. |

I would move to North Carolina.[/quote] Yeah but you're from Australia, land of Crocs and Videogame Haters... Canada is like America... only friendlier and colder (A lot colder) |

So I'll edit my statement too... "Yeah, but you're from New Zealand, land of Giant Freaky Bugs and Peter Jackson." Actually, other than the bugs isn't New Zealand pretty nice? Why would you want to leave? |

To be fair, I'd move to North Carolina just to get out of Louisiana. Although, working for The Escapist would definitely be delicious icing on that cake. Although, if working for the Escapist wouldn't pan out, I'd likely move to Australia over staying here in the U.S. of A. Although I'd likely end up going New Zealand. |

I can understand the desire to get out of Louisiana, I certainly wouldn't be happy there. Personally I'd want to live in England... or Vancouver. I dunno, I love Canada a lot... I just hate Calgary and Alberta, there are no jobs here that aren't Oil related. |
