Niko It's Your Cousin! (GTA IV)

Niko it's your cousin! Why don't you take me bowling...

Watch Video

Your best in a long time! Awesome! Love it! Keep up the good work.

The GTA5-trailers got you so fired up, that you started playing GTA4 (again), right?

The song itself is entertaining and enjoyable.
A little piece of fun created in the same spirit as "Gordon Freeman saved my life", I presume?

Nikko really earned his Green Card.

This is absolutely hilarious. I can't believe it exists. It's awesome.

A bit different than the other material, in a good way thou :D
Funny song.

I don't think there was anything I didn't like about this song or video, well done!

Don't think I mentioned it before, but if you were trying to nail the tune of GTAIV's loading screens, you nailed it pretty damn good.

Brilliant song Gav.

Wow, I hadn't even noticed that until now!

Wasn't sure what the instrument they used in the game was, I tried to emulate it with a dulcimer sound. Sounds similar enough!

Sometimes I feel like one of the few people that enjoyed all the man-dates. It added extra layers of depth to the characters and I was always interested in what they had to say. Also Roman was a pretty nice guy who cared about his cousin and I really hoped this song would be about how sure he was annoying but there was still some love there and depending on which ending you got maybe you should remember him more fondly. Hell just one sorrowful bit in this song would've really made this song for me. Still a good song, just not what I hoped for.

That's a really good Niko impression.

I seem to remember you comparing this in some way to Wigglesticks before it was posted, and now that I've listened to it (60+ times between here and the YT version...) I think that was pretty spot-on, at least for this listener: both helpfully sum up my issues with both games in a really, REALLY entertaining manner. This is *even better* than Wigglesticks (first Miracle of Sound song I listened to, that one), though, because it's longer, which lends it to a somewhat better experience when I'm listening to it on repeat.

Maybe if I just played this song during every cutscene and the like I could actually play GTAIV....probably still not, sadly.

I also thought the "no game samples" bit was rather impressive.

Oh it is rather excellent! ...What is a dulcimer?

I will say though, that accent is borderline offensive. :P But funny enough to give a wide pass.

I'm with ya man. I always liked hanging out with Roman and Brucie. Some of the best lines in the game are in all that ancillary stuff. And if I didn't want to, I just told em not right now. The hit on the "friend points" wasn't so severe that I couldn't make it back quickly.

GTA IV is one of my favorite games of all time, so it's frustrating when people keep harping on this single, tiny aspect of the game.

Either way, I had fun listening to this song, and I can tell you had fun making it. Looking forward to what you come up with for GTA V!

That was pretty awesome. I am now a fan. GTA4 I found a little disappointing and it's all the nice little touches like the stuff in the song which I kind of wished there had been more of that kept me playing really.

So that's a little more then until GTAV comes along... Thanks.

Before this song I only liked and enjoyed your work a lot.
Now I think I'm in love xD
This one had me laughing and smiling throughout, good work!

so true, yet so catchy . . .

I wonder where he sticks his bowling balls?

That was awesome. You seem to do able to do any accent so that it sounds quite like its supposed to but still different enough to be funny.

The fact that Roman kept calling and calling, and my little brother always swearing like a sailor when he did, was a great source of fun for me. So, this song brought back some good memories. Very on point, Mr. Dunne, very on point

That was a lot of fun to listen to. Keep up the great songs.

Very funny song, Gavin! It looks like Roman adds some levity and fell-good silliness to contrast with the grim-'n'-gritty side that Niko gets stuck in. I could never tell what kind of tone GTA4 was supposed to go for.

Have to say Gavin, your Roman impression is definitely a lot better than your Niko impression.

Got a good laugh out of this one, the 99 problems bit sent me over the edge XD.

If the accent is offensive that's an issue with the game, not me.

A dulcimer is a hammered instrument. very pretty sounding

Glad to hear it :)

I find that your "in-character" songs like this one, the Joker's, Tyrion's, and Wheatley's are some of my favorites. I'm impressed you always get the voice down so well.

Cool instrument..

Also I didn't mean to be rude. ^^ The accent is amazingly entertaining. You've always been great at.. Uh.. Twisting(?) your voice. I still remember Joker's Song, thought it was Mark himself for a little while.

I've been looking for a good virtual instrument with a dulcimer or yangqin for a while, would you mind sharing which one you use?

Wonderful song btw :) (too bad it's taking away a bit of exposure from your other recent song which I enjoy even more)

I've been waiting on this song since April 29th, 2008.

Thank you.

Never played the game but catchy tune. My friend who's a big GTA fan thought the video was using sound clips from the game at first, so your impression must be pretty good

The impression was perfect. I thought the same at first.

Spot on.

Apologies if its off topic.
Kind of like GTA IV but the constant jabbering from friends and then loosing status with them if they got turned down was what killed the game for me.
Think I got about half way thru before my OCD to not lose status points making me have to do darts and speed boat rides repeatedly just got to be to much.
I could never actually get anything done that seemed fun, was just pampering to all the whining of NPC's.

Haha! Good to know that you've always got a career in impersonation / voice acting if this whole singing thing turns out to be a bust.

Also, loving Black Flag... especially the throw-back to Blood of the Creed and His Father's Son.
Y'argh!

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAaaaaaahhhhhhh. Reminds me of an old jem.

It's always the songs I put the least time & effort into that are the most popular, lol.

The dulcimer plugin I use is this little beauty:

I also used it in Half Man's song. It has a beautiful tone
