The Critical Miss Experience

Sad but true :P

You're missing the point! :P

Hehehehe...it really is funny how any time you need some material you can always just give "them" a little poke. The banner on the main page that links to today's comic has a picture of Shinji crying, I was already chuckling when I saw that, thinking "We're going back here, eh? Wonder what's in store this time."

While not directly making fun of it, the implication that you easily can and use it as a fall-back is still pretty funny in it's own right.

"You obviously don't get it. It's very deep. Deep and meaningful."

Ha! That's actually kind of a subtle joke. Not sure people will get it right away if they were to go through the comics later.
Or some may even not get it today. ;p

At any rate, good one. =w= b

So flaming for the sake of flaming for the sake of flaming, eh.

This is getting deep.

Invadergray:

thats what she said. sort of.

Yeah, as an Eva fan, I know what it's like to have to deal with overreactions. Yes, Eva is a good show with a lot of influence and plenty to think about: It still has problems that should be satirized.

Seriously, grow a spine and don't take it so seriously, (Hell, i kind of laughed at the last Eva strips and I'm a big fan)

Please stop poking the bear or rather the angel, I would rather not have a fight between the people who are in love with it and the people who hate it

Casual Shinji:

Shit... we're going Inception now, arent we?

Cue the music...

Nah, if that was the case every panel of the comic would've been filled with sleep-inducing exposition.

And that's a good attitude to have towards it People that get pissed off at Grey for some of the Eva comics he's made shouldn't be angry that he's pointing out the humorous (when you sit down and actually think about it) aspects of the show, but rather they should laugh with everyone else and be glad that something they enjoy is actually getting attention.

I don't know why, but this one really made me giggle. I hope it does bring you lots of views and comments, so that you are vidicated in your decision.

I have absolutely no idea what this is about. Shame, I usually like this comic.

The show actually has some really funny scenes as well: Pen-Pen's introduction, Misato and Kaji meeting each other again, and how Shinji and Asuka interact in the beginning before the second half.

The show has some odd moments and the fact that Shinji pilots robots and has a cast of females around him and is still down can be twisted for fun but people really do take the second half when everything goes downhill too close to the heart (even me though I was under depression at the time so it affected me a bit more)

Nimcha:

It's the fact that if you incite the Eva fans, you get reactions that can span entire forums and consume it in a war on merits, problems, ideology and so on. As TvTropes said "try to find something that Eva fans DON'T fight over"

Nimcha:

Same here.

Whatever this is about, it's gone right over my head...

My motto with regards to the series has always been thus: "If you needed therapy, you won't after watching the last two episodes of Evangelion. If you didn't need therapy, you most certainly will after watching the last two episodes of Evangelion." :3

Is that Hello Kitty slippers?

Damn Yo!

EDIT: Took me a while to get this strip. For some reason 'Evangelion' on the guy's shirt didn't come to me.

Well, the show has giant robots fighting monsters and boobies. And then there is this crap:

How can you not poke that stuff all day long?

Grey is poking an EVA fan, with the "satire stick". (He's making fun of EVA, to make the fans get a bit "riled up". He is also a fan, so he does it by using satire.)

Took me a few looks to get this one.

For anyone confused, look at the guy's t-shirt in the last panel.

It's not complete.... something is missing.

Oh yeah the Evangelion haters (me included) cheering them on.

You obviously don't understand how deep and blah, blah, blah blah, depression, blah blah religious symbolism, blah blah blah Angels.

See, if you took the minute to understand, then you'd understand.

Understand.

A dude wearing a "Cry more Shinji" shirt saying "You need a bigger, pointier stick"?

That's a really lazy satire stick, you could at least make it shiny or something.

47_Ronin:

I don't recall the giant robots fighting the boobies... but that paints a pretty funny picture.

heh.

If you look up Critical Miss on google it auto completes to Evangelion.

I laughed. Now to wait for the butthurt evangelion fans who still somehow manages to think it's a good show.

I've seen that quote of yours before. Gotta say, as somebody who preferred the last two episodes (after getting over the shock of wtf just happened and wondering if I missed an episode) to everything else in the series it seems to ring pretty true imo.

Wenseph:

You think there's enough room with all the "This is funny cuz NGE sucks" comments already flooding this place?

The fact that everytime Grey decides to make a joke about NGE the entire comments section turns into a great big Evangelion bash-o-rama, you can't be surprised fans sigh and get a bit defensive when a new one rears its head.

I think they're hiding in the facebook comments. I say 'they', there appears to be two.

Do you think the forum is becoming a place Where Angels Fear To Tread?

It's in reference to the fact that Critical Miss has done a few strips satirizing Neon Genesis Evangelion (NGE) (one of the most influential anime shows ever)

Every time they do this, it starts one hell of an argument because a lot of people think NGE is the greatest work of art ever created and a lot of others think it's a bit shit (I'm personally somewhere in the middle).

This is a great fallback when they have no new material because it always spawns lots of views and comments. And it's damn fun to watch people rage.

Teoes:

Well, maybe not that one computer virus Angel.

We'll be in a drought until the middle of the next-gen lifespan, when all the shitty launch titles have died or gone multiplatform and been made better on PC with mods.
