"Hmm... Actually the bones look fairly recent. As well, the DNA testing indicates a close genetic relationship between yourself and their previous owner. Where are these from again?"

"Uh, Cu, Cubone." *backs out of room*

Hey, why are there two links to the same thing in the OP?

Haha I went here to make a similar comment but you had beat me to it. Seriously though his friend must be a bit slow, you don't look for archaeologists in clubs.

...I feel a little bad for poor Cubone. He needs a hug.

While the pokemon joke is great, I was really hoping this would be about one my favorite Lucasarts adventure games from back when.

Awwwww...poor Cubone....or is that a Marowak? I'm not a big enough Pokémon junkie to tell the difference. :P

I like these short, sweet, and to the point joke strips. No deeper message to worry about, really easy to get, just a set-up, a delivery, and a punchline. Nice and simple. :3

Wait, there is suddenly a guy who can also see video game characters in this comic...? Did anyone tell Erin about this?
...
I smell wacky romcom hijinks in the near future. :D

It's a Cubone. Jeez, the poor little fella is so messed up he wears his dead Mother's skull as a hat. Who knows where that other bone came from?! I bet Erin will feel like a proper cow when she finds out.

Here was me hoping this was going to reference an old Lucasarts adventure game.

edit: Ok beaten, but my point stands. Throw us old dinosaurs a bone, I haven't worked since the dawn of time either.

Sorry Cubone, you're not going to find an Archaeologist in a night club.

aw, poor Cubone. Maybe next time the fellow will bring his Pokémon with him or at least a picture of the bone with a pen next to it :P

These short strips are unexpected yet cute/clever.

Aw don't fret Cubone. You can't pull 'em all.

Critical Miss combined with my favourite Pokémon (I haven't played any since the original Silver), today is a good day. Poor little critter, but then again women don't tend to like guys with mummy issues.

Although I enjoy those types, I find these ones a lot funnier. Cory can do some really funny expressions on characters.

[buzzkill] It should have been a paleontologist, not an archeologist. [/buzzkill]

Next on Archaeology Road Show....

Erin frequently lacks shame. Plus, it's a video game character.

Yeah, nobody likes intelligent strips. Dick and fart jokes are where it's at.

Poor Cubone, I think someone needs a hug

OT: This is why I love Critical Miss, I love smart and witty humour

Never said I didn't like the intelligent ones. Those three strips regarding videogame discussions were perhaps the most brilliant and desperately needed webcomic strips I've ever read. Just saying there's nothing wrong with taking a break from all that every now and then for a simple one-off joke.

Edited to fix the broken image.

I feel his pain. I never get anyone to come to the parties in a small club in my town, called "My Pants".

He also might want a paleontologist not an archeologist.

Damn, Cubone just can't catch a break. Next time I play a game where I can, I'm gonna catch and train one out of sympathy.

Next time go to a university. Might have more luck there little buddy.

On closer inspection of the table Cubone's sitting at, there's 4 empty shot glasses and a mostly empty beer...little fella's been getting WASTED! o.o

Drowning his sorrows about his dead mother isn't going to bring her back...I think Cubone needs an intervention.

You know looking back, the fact that he wears his mother's skull on his head IS kinda creepy.

Thinking about it now, how do you suppose Cubone/Marowak culture works? Do all of their moms die at some point and they have to wear their mom's skulls as some sort of rite of passage or something? 0_o

Regardless, I still love the little guy.

Awww. No one's gay for Cubone. -_-,

You know a Pokemon's having a bad day when their drink is far more consumed then yours is.. especially if you're an alcoholic.

But yeah poor Cubone. He's probably the coolest, original looking Pokemon apart from Charmander. Always wanted one in the video game of 'Pokemon Yellow' but could never find them. I know how to now, but it's to late... so I might as well join the party lol.

Awwwwww poor Cubone.

I think the little guy needs a hug.

Or a good cuddle.

Cuddles can make the bad thoughts go away, but I don't know how that would work considering the skull he's wearing. :/

That's just what I was thinking! There's no way there's only one Cubone, so they must all look like that. Then again, the whole world of Pokémon doesn't make sense to me.

I think part of the gag is that his wingman isn't very good.

Hate to be that guy but what Cubone would be looking for would be a Paleontologist rather than an Archeologist. :P

Hey, don't become an enabler for his bad habit! Cuddles will only sustain him for a short while, but after the cuddles he's heading right back to the bar. You have to get him to cope with the root of his problem, not block it out with booze and lovies.

Maybe a cuddle therapy?

Give him cuddles and then make him talk about his problem and give good reinforcement. If he goes back to the bar then no cuddles, but I would think the person giving cuddles would have to be really good at it otherwise it wouldn't work.

Aww, and here I was hoping this was a reference to an old point and click adventure game of the same name...

You just used my favorite pokemon in a comic. I will now forever love this comic no matter what from this day forward.

[Buzzkill-buzzkill] Well, actually, although all Palaeontologists have hands on experience with bones from organisms alive today they specialise in extinct creatures. What you need is a Zoologist... actually, no, you'd need a Pokemon Professor. [/Buzzkill-buzzkill]
