Aww the librarian looks so cute in this <3

Let yet another Pokemon thread commence...I guess.

He doesn't like Pokemon! BURN HIM!

That's something I always remembered wondering about with my brief (gen 1-3) experience with Pokémon....

"Why the fuck is EVERYTHING in this world based around these little buggers?!"

Pokemon romance novels, a tale of star crossed lovers amies...

It's true, everyone does seem to have Pokemon knicknacks in their cupboards... I can't stop checking them for loot though.

I never understood the Pokemon fascination. It is like crack to those who are into it.

The way she was looking at him in the first two panels, you'd think she wanted him to do a little "Husbandry" with her.

Wish I could make out the book titles.

Yeah, second that...OTOH, I don't understand Bronies, Browncoats or people who think NuWho is better than old either.

Yeah, pretty much this.

Why there's a PokeMart in every little shithole, yet you can hardly find any hospital or shop for humans? What if I want to drink a soda, instead of some Poke-coke?

Captcha: Best seller
-You have no idea!

I don't find this quite so odd, honestly.

I mean, the humans in the Pokémon world have cooperated and coexisted with Pokémon... forever.

In a way, it's all they know. Their lives and cultures are so infused with these creatures that to think of a story that doesn't involve them is outlandish.

Like, how many stories do we have that feature not a single human, or anthropomorphic animals?

I understood the pokemon craze.... WHEN I WAS 14 AND RED AND BLUE HAD JUST COME OUT! I was a serious pokemaniac then, I could recite the poke-rap and all that, but when they added 100 more I called it quits because I already had all 151, I won pokemon and they can't take that from me if I don't play their new shit :P

It was a fun RPG but they kept taking it kiddier and kiddier, that may sound weird considering its a kids series, but the originals had a lot of violence and angry pokemon. There was also alot of "mature content"(no, not sex you perv), I remember the original description for parasec having to do with the fungus eating into its hosts brain and hijacking its body.... that's pretty creepy for a kids game.

Well, the nuggets that you pick up don't seem to be. Even in the world of pokemon people go gaga over dat yellow rock.

This comic isn't referring to real-life Pokemon fans, but the fictional world in which the games take place. In that world, everything is based around Pokemon, which always seems a bit weird, as there must be a significant portion of people who either dislike or don't care about Pokemon within that world.

DVS BSTrD:
Wish I could make out the book titles.

Second one down is "A Tale of Two Lapras"
Fourth one down is "Of Rattata and Men"
Eighth one down is "War and Pokemon"

Those are the ones I can make out fully.

Didn't you know? Nuggets are fossilized Poke-Poo.

Amaranth used Fire Spin.

It's Super Effective!

It's based on Japan, where everything is based around them.

They don't let outsiders know, because their Pokélords don't wish us to know they exist...Until it's too late.

At least, there used to be.

Before the purge....

For everyone! Champions of the sun!

You joke (I hope. <.<) but it must really suck for anyone who doesn't like pokemon in the pokemon world.

In our darkest hour, we will turn to the fallen, and they will save us in our time of need.

Actually I was quite surprised at the number of NPCs that don't talk about Pokemon at all in X & Y. Maybe Nintendo got tired of people making this joke XD

Well, Pokémon are basically animals.

So does that mean people are Pokémon too?

And I'm pretty sure one of them just says "Call of the Wild"

I don't even want to think what their erotic novels are like.
i'm, so, so sorry.

Oh Arceus. The implications of that statement. No. *clutches head*

MrFinnishDude:

Well considering she mentioned that they have Pokemon adventure and romance novels, but looked at him in disgust when he said non-Pokemon books, it does make you wonder what exactly she meant.

DVS BSTrD:

That'd be one way to anger people. Constantly talk about them instead. Going into the market and asking for Digi Coke and so on.

haha, glad I'm not the only one who noticed that obsession of theirs. XD

as you're moving through the very first city of the game, one of the NPCs asks "Don't you love pokemon!?" I promptly answered "no" and I swear I could hear the gears grinding in her head.

Any chance we could get a higher resolution version of this? I'd like to see what's on the book spines. I can only make out 3 of them. Curse be on my eyes, with only 20/20 vision.

JediMB:

I'd guess not, since Pokeballs don't react when thrown at a human. Trainers jump in the way of your Pokeball if oyu throw it at a caught Pokemon and Ash got pelted with Pokeballs in the first movie that did not capture him.

My bet? Faithful Tepig. Don't look that up.

Well, we do have a lot of stories where animals don't feature, anthropomorphic or otherwise.

If you're not with us, you're against us. Hand in your balls and we'll ship you to New Jersey.

Yeah, I don't like him, either.

Legion:

I quoted you just to say I find your avatar hypnotising. I could watch it for hours if I didn't stop myself. Cute girl affectionate headbutting ftw.

Yeah, that is kinda weird. True, these people have lived with Pokemon for a long time, but you'd think they'd have somet things at least non-related to Pokemon...

I imagine at least half of that library is dedicated to understanding how EV training works.

Skitty on Wailord action. Duh.

Ugh... I don't think i can endure much more of this Gen Y bullcrap. Seriously, enough with the damn pokemon.

My guess it's a political ploy to distract from the crippling economic problems and lack of educational opportunities for the young people.

Your Sunny reference did not go unnoticed!
