Jim & Yahtzee's Rhymedown Spectacular: The Dark Syde

I'm not quite sure how to delete this :-/

Jim won this round. I didn't even know he watched Dark Syde's Lets Play videos. In fact, I'm still trying to figure out how I managed to survive watching some of Dark Syde's LP videos.

Oh I see.

Yeah... gotta say... the old proverb still stands here. If you have to explain the joke... Sorry. :(

I did not explain the joke. There was context some people did not have, because that is how parody works.

If you're gonna sling proverbs around, make sure you understand 'em first. :-)

Has nobody watched Erik the Viking? No-one?! Good lord!

Man, that was a great film.

Zachary Amaranth:
I like Yahtzee's poem. It's very clearly about the price of stamps.

Palademon:
I'm so glad that shitting on DSP is now an industry wide pass time.

I think there are a few people still not in on it.

I wasn't in on it. And it's like discovering the El Dorado of trainwrecks.

I am currently watching him play Dark Souls and... wow.

Oh wow, I haven't seen the Dark Souls bit yet. Now I must go watch. Immediately.

Well if you have to show them a PICTURE of the damn aardvark...

(Ya see what I did there? Nope? Context, people! Context!)

Or to put it another way, the guy in the youtube video is clearly taking the p-ss, surely?

It's like trying to parody the "I speak Jive" scene from "Airplane". It's already supposed to be dumb!

EDIT - or am I giving the guy (not Jim, the guy in the youtube video) way too much credit here? People here apparently think he's serious... I dunno, it seems like a "Nostalgia Critic"-esque performance to me.

I was struggling with a way to accurately sum it up

Then the captcha for this post showed up. It said "nose bleed". And I knew it was all that needed to be said.

(well that and him failing the plunging attack on the Asylum Demon. About 5 times. While complaining that falling from heights drains health.)

It takes some serious fucking stamina to keep that kind of posture for the duration of entire breakthroughs, and what Jim showed was a 2 hour "highlight reel", so... I am guessing he IS serious, just not meant to be taken seriously

And on that note, and going to that jive reference, I never got it when I first saw Airplane because I was like 10 or 11 and am portuguese. Made me smile for all its goofiness, but did not really "get it" until I knew what jive was and the whole concept of the joke.

Jesus...I watched all of it, and god dammit that was painful. I think the highlight was how proud he was when he essentially cheated the sorrow. I was actually wondering all the way up to that point why he was using tranq, didn't really fit. Thank you so much for showing this to us Jim. Was a great laugh for me.

Best one yet. You both (each?) get funnier and sharper the more you do. Voltaire and Twain of the game review world? Or maybe Swift and Voltaire? Whatever it is, you've got it.
