See the Future, the next downloadable expansion for Fable II, will feature new quests, items, and something much more important: new breeds for your dog.
Available in May for 560 Microsoft Points, See the Future sets your hero on a new quest to "lift the curses placed on three mysterious items" in the possession of Murgo, that creepy guy who sold you the magic box that set the events of Fable II in motion.
Somewhere along the way, you'll be faced with yet another choice that'll determine the face of Albion, and whether or not you save the world or let things go to the dump'll have serious ramifications. Succeed in your goals, and you'll be gifted with "the ultimate reward: "a quest that provides a vision of Albion's future and what lies ahead for those born into the heroic bloodline."
So far Lionhead has revealed two quests: one in which you have to travel into a town inside a snowglobe to rescue its inhabitants from snowy perdition, and another that finds you assisting a cursed knight, a task that will somehow require you to dress up as a Hobbe.
There will also be a new area called The Colosseum which sounds like a combat arena where you'll have to compete in killing fests to "win the ultimate in prizes."
Who needs to kill for prizes when there are plenty of nifty gifts available in the rest of the DLC, though? Murgo should have plenty of things to sell, including a potion that changes your dog's breed. There will also be new hairstyles, clothing, "psycho Jester make-up" (here come a thousand Dark Knight interrogation scene reenactments) and more. Most of the new items will be available in the free version of See the Future, but everything else that counts will only come as part of the premium paid edition. The content will be released in May.
I am looking forward to more quests, but that is about all there is left of the game for me. New items to scour the world for would give me a few more hours of game play . . . I don't know about the Colosseum, though. Is it just me, or does that sound a lot like the Crucible?

Apparently it puts the Crucible to shame...that's what Lionhead say.

Lionhead say a lot of things - I followed Fable 2's production for over a year and despite claiming they wouldn't they still manged to claim a lot of interesting features would be in the game that clearly weren't. For example, in a demo PM was pointing to various parts of the background scenery in Bowerstone (parts of the town you can view from the bridge) exclaiming "you can buy that, and that", but unfortunately this failed to materialize and the game world did not seem as large they claimed as a result.
As for the Colosseum - I am sure it will simply be similar to the Arena from the original Fable - because that put the Crucible to shame.

Fool, this time around, you wont fight pitiful things like Hobbes, zombies, and *Rolls eyes) Trolls... You'll be fighting the most menacing foe of all.... Monkeys!
It'd be nice if they extended the life of the game a bit. So.... Where is my Mass Effect DLC now?
I'm still waiting for the DLC where you catch up with the other heroes, allowing you to go to Samarkand. Or if they added new spells, that would be nice too.
And I hope they add new spells one of these days...
Oh well, looks good to me.
Both of these. New spells are a must, and what an odd price, it seems inevitable that you'll be left with a few points to spare that you can't use for anything.

Well, 40 MS points buys you...Umm...Half of "Spell Tomes" for Oblivion, or the full Spell Tomes during this week that its half price...And I really want new spells...I'm getting tired of killing stuff with Shock...

I just wish they would let you buy the amount of points required for whatever it is you want to buy.
Another one? The last DLC was an embarrasing edition to an unfinished game.
Lionhead used to make people angry with their quality games which didn't have all they promised. Now they make people angry with shitty games which are all they promised.

So do I, but its only really bugs me when they have weird prices for stuff, Multiple of 400 works fine...but then there is stuff like this...

They design it so that you have extra points to buy pointless things like picture or background sets. I find it annoying.

Heh. They can't make me buy that stuff, I save the extra points until they add up. I'm immune to marketing ploys.

Ohhhhh, I didn't realize it was MONKEYS! That makes it completely different. ::snicker::
And yeah, where is the Mass Effect DLC? I have been waiting for that for so long I completely forgot all about it. . . maybe that was the idea . . . sneaky, sneaky BioWare.
Any new info? Like a date of release? I'm about to begin my evil playthrough of Fable 2. Since I made choices of what I'd personally do in the first playthrough, I ended up a woman with 3 kids and a halo around her head, who charges for rent at base value. And also didn't put a single exp point into making my attacks stronger, since that makes you a muscular freak.
seems like fun stuff...even though they already have an arena...
ot: i can't help but remember the days when a game company would have to release another game to give new content, and this would lead to days or weeks of entertainment rather than hours
