Wow that is pretty big. Looks like a lot of people will be playing on some kind of, low and medium combination. What I like about this is that it's showing all those resources it's using. I wonder how many DVDs you will have to swap around or install on your disk. Suck my balls, I am not buying this game, Bioware. No, I won't. Prototype has requirements like that, but it's an Open World game. Mass Effect isn't, and has a lot lower requirements, what gives? edit: FOUR GB OF RAM? ARE YOU INSANE? Depending on how accurate those reccomended specs are, I'm probably looking at running this on medium. High if I'm lucky. Very high looks doubtful. Also, my PC is several years old. I am so glad I went all out when I upgraded. | |

This is nothing. If you've built a new machine in the last year, you should have this covered. If you have and you don't have this covered, you probably built a very budget machine. | |
Man makes me glad I aimed for a video editing computer or else I wouldn't of made the bar to play on the "high" settings. Also while I know the cap for a 32-bit system is 4 gigs(okay technically 3gigs) a 32 bit OS should be perfectly fine for this game. I really don't even know if I will get this game but yeah that hard drive space hurts. I'm going to have to install this game on my secondary or tritary hard drive just to play this game. | |

While these specs are probably a bit over the 2-3 year old systems that most people are working with, they certainly aren't high for somebody who uses their PC for gaming. I built a system similar to their recommended last year for less than $1000 (it was basically a mid-range gaming system -- nothing terribly fancy). The real question is how accurate their specs are. Crysis's suggestion for a recommended system will get you somewhere up around medium detail levels. If you really want to put everything to high (which, I would assume, is what the developers would recommend as the best option), you'll need a GTX 260 or 2x 8800 GTS and a decent quad core or high-end dual core. They should start adding qualifiers like "Minimum 60fps @ 1280x1024 with all detail settings at High". | |
Hahahaha!!! My PC only just meets the recommended specs. It's a pain because I was hoping to get at least another couple of years out of it. I suppose this gives me the excuse to finally move to a larger hard drive though. It's a shame that 120GB just isn't enough these days. | |

Or I don't need 4 GB to play GAMES. That's not logical. I do meet the recommended (I had to OC my CPU for Prototype, so I know this), but requiring people to own a 64 bit CPU and having 4 GB of RAM (and 20GB on HDD) is insane. | |
Those are actually pretty weak requirements and not hard to meet. Especially with the prices current computer parts are at. Need to expect newer and newer games to push the requirements. | |
The third I'll agree on, the first I'll express my sympathy (though disagree - Core 2 has been around for ages) but these days I really don't think anyone has any excuse not to have 4GB of RAM. The stuff's so cheap it's frightening. | |
