Wiicked Haaard, reminds me of that time i went to Boston for a Yankees v Redsox game. Looks cool? I dunno its been so long since ive played a Mario game, its good that the Nintendo can reproduce this character and games with seemingly little to no alteration and still be a success.
Well, the Nintendo Hard trope IS named after the aforementioned company for a reason, I suppose...
I TOLD people that the "kind code" could only mean harder games.
Looks like it's gonna get truly hectic, plus it gets wicked hard? Lookin forward to it.
Sounds good to me. Galaxy provided a fair challenge, but the 2D games have always been harder. I'm actually starting to miss the days when I would try an area of a Mario game and die 10 times before making through a specific area.
Good. I want to see more Nintendo games that challenge players, like they did back in the days of pixels. Honestly, if you're going to make a 2.5D Mario platformer, it HAS to be difficult.
YESSSS! I desire crazy multiplayer madness, with lots of death!
At last a Nintendo game with challenge! Many good Wii games have been too easy.
This looks like a pretty fun game but one I doubt I would play with anyone else.
good thing for hardcore wii gamers, if their ARE any left.
People hear what they want to hear, this is pretty much the sad truth. Still buying this, now I wan't it more.
I'd be surprised if there are any hardcore gamers left period.
I get to play as Toad again without the necessity of a dumb-loking go-kart, I'm all in for this.
ok, but I still refuse to use this "kind code" thing. No Nintendo you WII-ll not beat me!
I'm so excited. I call my boyfriend and told him to dust off our Wii.
Yes! I want the frustration from Lost Levels, multiplied by hundreds!
Really? I was under the impression that there are millions of us left. I am super happy to hear about this new Mario Bros as I am getting a Wii for kid this Christmas. I loves me some 2d Mario Bros!
another mario game that is exactly the same as the others ONLY WITH A HELP FEATURE...... yay
How can a game with that music be hard. That is just unfair. It will lull you into a false sense of security then rape you. It looks sweet.
You want hardcore mario go play lost levels.
In related news, Toyota recently announced a new line of F***uouMobiles. While the car will lack a steering column, Toyota promises to send roadside assistance upon accidents.
The levels are new, the items are new... save for one of them and most of the 2D Marios kept the same basic game. This one has four players at once, the game has had new live breathed into it, it looks fun as hell.
well you can have fun with it then, because i certainly won't
Deal. I'll send you a postcard from Super Phun Thyme.
Can't we just have "Easy," "Medium," and "Hard" difficulties as opposed to "Masochistic" and "Pussy?"
+30 win sounds like great fun
Was that the gameplay? Yeesh, doesn't look that hard.
Evidently not. "Hardcore" players and other assorted twelve year olds won't allow it! OT this looks... Like the old Marios. Good for Nintendo, maybe when they've finished climbing down from their mountains of money they will make a new character?
I don't know if I have the tolerance for a Mario game anymore since I never finished Sunshine or Galaxy, but this is a different type of Mario game (classic as compared to Mario games from the N64 on) so it might be worth it even if it is more difficult.
Didn't they try this in Japan with Super Mario Bros 2 and they had to change it to the one we know?
Fuck you... Stop linking to TV Tropes, I just lost 3 goddamn hours on that website... It's like crack... damnit... On that note, so Nintendo is now selling rom hacks basically... lovely.
I thought it was just a direct port of the DS version, which wasnt particuarly hard really, either they've suped it up a bit, or the guy just wasnt that good. Well it does look like there are some new things, but still, it wasnt that hard. This just seems akin to Mario 64 DS and the original, in the way they've altered it
The game will get hard because of that crappy camera, the whole time I was watching this the damn thing was spread out way too far when three or four players jump in.
This is what it should be. Isn't a easy platform game a little pointless. Even LBP had some hard sections and perfecting those levels for better costumes was nails.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii Reportedly Wicked Hard
New Super Mario Bros. Wii will be the first Nintendo game to use "kind code" - computer-assisted aid if you can't beat a section - for one very good reason: It's reportedly the most hardcore Mario game in years.
MTV Multiplayer's Russ Frushtick got some hands-on time with this fall's New Super Mario Bros. Wii at a press event in New York City, and the verdict? It's hard. Like, really hard - Contra hard, even.
This game's difficulty comes thanks to the inclusion of the "Super Guide" feature, which lets the computer (playing as Luigi) handle the trickier parts for gamers who can't make that one goddamn jump before resuming control - though apparently, the option won't unlock until you've tried and died a few times already.
Thanks to the "Super Guide," the developers no longer had to account for the lowest common denominator of player skill, but I'm not sure that that's actually true. If the game is truly this hard, aren't the less-skilled among us going to be playing the entire game on autopilot? I'd much rather something like Bayonetta's Automatic Mode, where the game handled the jumps and movement and left us to the combat.
Though, it is a Mario game. I guess the jumps are the combat.
