Actually it's not exactly giving back... this is really in favour of Microsoft. They not only come off as looking like the good guys but also get free publicity while there at it, it makes them look more friendly and setting up the dog with a account would make Microsoft look like they had a sense of humour which again is good for there image. They paid what $62... what's that to a company like Microsoft?. From that they get all that's mentioned above. And as for the story... my Gold fish did some thing similar... can I have a refund... the fish managed to buy a full years XBLG subscription along with £120 worth of points... all by flapping. |

but look at the upside the man got a free controller, $62.50 worth of free DLG, and his dog can be known as the first (that we know of) canine to have a XBL subscription. Admittedly this is really good PR for Microsoft to show people they aren't just a giant faceless corporate monster. |

I'm pretty sure I'd be upset if Microsoft didn't give me that month of live that I lost when my xbox was being fixed for a month after it red ringed. |

Ummm, I don't think they're talking about the chewed controller anymore, Doug. Wait, they refunded the guys money even though he'd already spent it all on downloadable games? That seems... charitable to say the least. They might as well have just said "well you spent it, so it's not as though you're unhappy that the points were purchased", and let him hang. But over $60 worth of free games? I need a dog. |
