let me just tell you that those studios are quite capable of making awesome series... but yes, i can see the disgust in seing a beloved and very american game being "Japanimated" and if its "Japanimated for western audiences" it will be much worse jeje |

They ported the flagship product over to the PC while the original XBOX was in production, if for no other reason than to get PC gamers to buy an XBOX and Halo 2. Why not do the same thing for the PS3? In fact, the PS1 emulator on the PS3 most likely has a good deal of code from the Virtual Game Station (an incredibly efficient Play Station One emulator) made by ...(drum roll)... Eric Traut of Microsoft, and I don't think Microsoft has received a dime in royalties. Eric, btw, is also responsible for Hyper-V, the free Virtual PC, and had a huge hand in the Windows 7 kernel. But the biggest thing he should be known for, aside from the Virtual Game Station and the pivotal court case surrounding it, is backwards compatibility on the 360. Running x86 code on an in-order risc-like PPC core is no small feat. Sony OWES Microsoft, if for no other reason than the simultaneous multi-threading and the rich set of SIMD instructions in the PowerPC core that the toshiba/sony + ibm team did not need or want. Making games on the CELL processor, as difficult as it is, would have been much more difficult without those features. Well, I've managed to get way off track. So how would you guys feel if Microsoft brought Halo and Playstion 2 emulation to the PS3? |

I mean, I had fun, but I probably won't be playing through them again. I'll probably check out the anime for grins. |

Even if Sony do own it or something, it's not that major. I mean would we be that surprised if we saw some Sony owned movie on the Live movie rental service? I mean yes there was a point where PS3 was the primary Blu-Ray player of the market as it was the cheapest way to get one, but now that's changed. Anywho, I guess... congrats? :S |
