Bully 2 Accidentally Revealed

image

It sounds like a Bully sequel is on the way, thanks to an "accidental announcement" by Shawn Lee, the musician who created the score for the original game.

Bully, aka Canis Canem Edit, first came out in 2006 for the PlayStation 2 and while it was successful enough to spawn versions for the PC, Wii and Xbox 360, there's never been any indication from Rockstar that it was considering a legitimate sequel. Until now, that is.

In an interview with The Gaming Liberty, Shawn Lee, the man behind the music in Bully, let slip that he was gearing up to begin work on a follow-up. When asked if he would be interested in working on other videogames in the future, Lee replied, "Yes. It looks like I will be doing the soundtrack for Bully 2 in the not so distant future..."

Rockstar hasn't yet commented on the revelation but Lee confirmed in an email that the company has talked to him about the game. "Rockstar recently mentioned Bully 2 to me but other than that I know nothing!" he said.

So what do you think? Does Bully have the legs to become the next Grand Theft Auto (or even Midnight Club) in Rockstar's stable, or is it more likely to be another Manhunt 2?

Sounds cool. The original looked fairly interesting to me but I never got a chance to play it.

I would say that Bully is better than GTA4.

So, bring on the sequel.

As long as they don't do an EA style cull I look forward to it. I liked the first one and I have the Wii version.

Well, I liked Bully 1 lots. Let's hope it just improves on the flaws.
No matter how few.

Fucking A!

The first game was excellent. I didn't think much of it when I first heard of it, dismissing it as GTA for kids, but when I finally got a chance to play I fell in love with it. The story is just as good as a GTA game, and more fun than most of them.

The school aspect was great too, it gave structure to the days, and was a collection of fun minigames that gave upgrades or random fun stuff. This has cheered me up immensely :D

Never played the first one, i am tempted to get a bargain wii version.

Fantastic! It may just be the next GTA series. I'm hopeful they don't take it down the same route as GTA IV, Bully's unreleastic yet possible theme made it great fun. I hope they don't drown it with realism. New classes, broader range of women/girls, soumds like great fun to me.

Bully 2, the college years.............

seriously though, Bully was the most fun I had in a long time, I dont really see how they could improve it.

maybe let us use go-carts or something of the like, yea?

I know the first one had the scooter, but no bad ass could ride that and be taken seriously, even Chuck Norris.

I have to say Bully was the most fun I've had with a game in a while so it would be a welcome addition to my library

Mt one comment can only be: HELL YEAH!

sounds good. i just hope they keep the marbles and fire alarms so i can trip everyone. i also hope the kick me signes wont be so rare that you have to take an entire day looking for them, and i dont mean in video game time.

A sequel to Bully? Sounds good to me, but I wonder how exactly they'll handle the sequel. I doubt it'll be a return to Bullworth, nor will Jimmy Hopkins be a crucial element to the story again. Going the college route seems to the best choice, as I doubt they could expand on the high-school lifestyle enough to warrant such a sequel. If that's the case, I'm looking quite forward to it. Can't wait to start beating frat boys senseless, spying on sorority houses, and skipping class. You know, the things I should be doing now that I'm in college.

Fuckin-A! Bully was awesome, I've been waiting for a sequel for years. Now if only Rockstar could make a sequel to The Warriors...

Agreed. Bully was fantastic. I'd love a sequel.

I hope in the next one the antagonist doesn't disappear for months and months in-game. It kind of felt like a kick-n-da-crotch to have someone reappear and say "WHOOPS! I SCHEMED UP EVERYTHING AND YOU LOSE, BUSTER!"

Someone let Keith Vaz know so Tom Watson can pwn him again ;)

Bring more underage violence. Pranks FTW!

Bully was fantastic and hilarious. Bring on the sequel.

Hooray! I loved the first game and I can't wait for the second. :D

Could care less myself, I didn't find Bully that interesting.

It was like GTA set in middle school.

Bully reminded my of my high school days, minus the expulsion. I'm ready for a second one.

Even though I never played the game, I'm pretty sure it looks like a great title. I would love to get my hands on a new one

I really liked Bully far more than GTA. It was more "fun and mischievous" than "murderous and nihilistic".

So, I'm excited.

Bully was a stellar game, no doubt, but I just don't know if it's right for a sequel. I mean, the original game was about Jimmy's triumph over adversity, and the eclectic settings and people of Bullworth Academy/Town. I'm just not sure there's much else that can be said about it that wouldn't come off as a cashgrab.

That said, I've never known Rockstar to release a game solely for the money it would make, so I'm trusting their judgment on this. If anyone can pull off a sequel the right way, it's certainly them.

Also the mini-games were fun...I enjoyed the lessons. Bowling with Niko however....

Well.....It's about time!

I might pick it up, if the 360 release is not bugged to hell, like last time, that game was nigh on unplayable!

Indeed. Vaz probably awaits this with baited breath or something.

My reaction to the news that one of my favorite games might be getting a sequel? A mighty pelvic thrust of joy.

If they make it as good as the original then I'll be very happy. I wonder if they'll have the same kid or if they will do an entirely different setting with new characters.

I found this out from CVG News but it still excites me, the first was a very enjoyable game a sequel would be the butter on a very delicious slice of bread.

I think Bully has potential to be another staple of Rockstar's game library.

I must get the first one. Been meaning to for ages once i get the money.

Great news. Really enjoyed the first one, and it didn't look like a sequel was ever going to be made.
