New Moon, the sequel to the vampire teen romance movie Twilight, has had a record breaking opening.
New Moon, the second movie to be based on Stephenie Meyer's Twilight series has broken the record for midnight openings in North America previously held by Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, taking over $26 million at box offices, compared to $22 million for Harry Potter.
Experts predict that New Moon, which again stars Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson, will make nearly $100 million dollars in the USA and Canada over the weekend, one of the biggest opening weekends for a non-summer film. The current record for an opening weekend is The Dark Knight, which made nearly $160 million in July last year.

The ONLY reason the original made 350 some million is that no one knew how terrible the movie was when it first came out, so a lot more people saw it then will see this one. And all the negative press will mean that even people that saw and sorta liked the first one won't bother seeing the sequel.
I bet this one makes 150 total, 3 makes 100 and 4 makes less than 50
Meh, just proves its popularity. I doubt it will go much beyond the opening weekend though, as anyone who truly wanted to see it probably would've went at midnight.
Greyfox105: a sign of the times? fangirls sat everywhere in the cinema when I saw it last night :|
Huh. What was your opinion of it. I ask mearly out of curiosity.
something between 'Cinematic' and 'Compelling'. It was a decent movie, kept me interested, worst part was the adverts before the movie. adverts were 40 mins long. worst of the adverts was a perfume one that was nearly pornography. disgusting.
God. First MW2, now New Moon. Hype can sell whatever it is I see. Maybe I should release a new brand of donuts. With razors in it. If I manage to hype it up as much as MW2 and Twilight have been, then I can make millions, and seriously hurt those retarded enough to fall for it! Bwahahahah!

Ah. Compatic. Cinapelling. Personally, I like the perfume adverts that are borderline pornography. It distracts from the pretentious bullshit that they are usually made of.

Really not experienced the Twilight craze yet huh? Its not popular due to people, its popular cause it has legions of rabid fangirls.
A friend of mine gave a really good idea of Twilight the other day.
"Twilight is what Michael Bay would make if he had a vagina"
"...What?"
"Well think about it. Michael Bay films are shitty movies with bad actors and storys, but lots of crazy action and explosions. Twilight films are shitty movies with bad actors and storys, but lots of romance and buff guys attached."
"...Buff guys? What are you, gay?"
"Fuck off"
I secretly think it was a good evalution, but you don't say that to your mates.
