Well, I enjoyed the prequel since it gave me depth to where all this drama came from. The second one was fun for me. I am a tad apprehensive since there is a new guy running the show, meaning the previous guy/girl/whatever wasn't interested. If they can't bag Kate for the proper role, I will only watch it after it becomes something bargain bin. | |

Underworld is a great series. Numbers one and two were full of good action, shooting and sword violence. The 3rd one or the prequel give more story to all the flashbacks the first two kept showing so i'm ready to see how they're going to continue it. But in 3D come one folks when has a live action movie set to a 3d style ever worked........ | |

I went for the first movie expecting nothing but a silly action flick and Kate Beckinsale. Not disappointed upon exit, and discovered new reason to enjoy the series- Bill Nighy, hamming it up as Viktor. Pity that he likely won't be around for more sequels. | |

Well truthfully the half vampire half werewolf guy from the first movie needed more credit in the second one other than simply coming back from something that should have killed anyone. I think they made the second one a bit too "Selene-centric". The problem with the prequel IMO was that with that logic I don't think the Werewolves would have been that (relatively) easy to deal with in the other movies, especially their leader. Still, I suppose a fourth one is doable. We're not talking high art here, and truthfully there are series that have stretched premises further. | |

The movies aren't masterpieces, but the the vampires are awesome and when they fight they're even more awesome. I hope it rapes New Moon and that fugly parallelogram-headed cunt. And at least the CGI doesn't look like something from Jason and the Argonauts. | |
What i like the most about the UW series is the seriousness regarding vampire and lycan physique. There's no vaguely alluded to features that turn out to be a plot point in the last 5 minutes. In the first half of the first movie everything technical is already explained and properly adressed like how the vampire clans obtained their immense riches and don't leave tons of drained corpses. What i also like is how they get rid of the "take this magical dagger, it kills dracula" approach and just gives both sides machine guns firing tracers with the glowing bits replaced by silver nitrate or radioactive goo. | |

Underworld 4 Gets Underway
New Moon isn't the only vampire flick in town it seems as work begins on the fourth installment in the Underworld series.
Studio Screen Gems has hired writer John Hlavin, whose credits consist mainly of occasional television work, to write the script for a fourth Underworld movie. Details are thin on the ground, but Hlaven has confirmed that the movie will not be another prequel like Underworld: Rise of the Lycans.
"It will satisfy old fans and excite new audiences," he said, "meaning that we don't want to redo the first three movies, so steps are being taken to honor what fans have loved but at the same time introduce fresh elements."
Sources disagree whether Kate Beckinsale, who starred in the first two movies, will be reprising her role of Selene, with some saying yes and others saying no. No director is attached to the project, with Len Wiseman said to be producing. The movie will apparently be in 3D and is scheduled for a January 2011 release.
I'll be honest, what I'm really interested in is what the movie will be called. Might I suggest "Underworld: By Crom Not Another One"?
