The trailer for this erotic Japanese RPG isn't the single best one I've ever seen, but it's the most honest. Oh, and it's actually coming out in English, too.
When it comes to trailers for Japanese porn games (or eroge), My Girlfriend Is the President still takes the top spot, but the above trailer for Record of Agarest War is up there, too... if only for virtue of its honesty.
"Sure," the trailer says, "We've got a fun-looking JRPG here with the standard evil villain, noble hero, and all of that cliche crap, but you're really here for the tits, aren't you? Aren't you?!" It's like the game is made by Team Ninja or something.
Truly, the people making this trailer know their audience. People will play Record of the Agarest War because they want to see the buxom females telling the virile male lead how they want to feel him from the inside. And I really just creeped myself out there. I think I need to go take a shower.
Of course, judging how one of the images seems to be censoring the bottom half of a towel, maybe there won't be all that much to see after all.
Record of Agarest War is out on the PS3 via PlayStation Network next year, pervs.
Hey, I was just reading a thread about this! To repeat my feelings, this looks awful. The battle system looks just... bad, and the everything else is just plain dumb.
What the hell? Some of that made me laugh, but seriously, what the hell? And it's funny that it censored the towel... sorry, I need to go guffaw in a corner...
HA! that was awesome, so awesome i almost wanna buy it, just to show support to creative, fresh and funny advertising, same reason i pre-purchased Dantes inferno.
also, its a jrpg and a porn game, something about double negatives and minus times minus comes to mind, ill wait for a community review before making up my mind, and while i wait ill watch the commercial again.
From what I know about Japanese Censorship laws (they may have changed) everything has to be blurred, even if it's intended to be porn. Of course people will mod it to leave out the censors.

They mosiac the original image, it isn't a visual filter. If it is sold outside Japan, then they will supply the original un-edited version of the images.
As Aura Guardian pointed out, the end of the trailer also carries the Xbox Live logo. Who knows, maybe this'll be one of those Summer of Xbox Live titles?
