Looks pretty awesome, especially for tournaments and clan battles. SR in beta, pretty please? :*
Well, I'm glad that I'll have it from the start. Another dubious marketing technique!
Looks good, but the keeping it away for a month is the most ridiculous thing I've ever seen. Can we get out of this trend, and actually have the fucking game we paid for already?
Looks awesome, that's for sure.
I think I saw on the Battlefield site or blog that Squad Rush mode wouldn't be in the PC beta, but since it'll be available for no extra charge at launch I can't feel too too bad about it. In all honesty I'm not much of a combat shooter guy, but I am really starting to look at Bad Company 2 as a game I might get. I guess it all depends on how I like the beta/demo.
Sounds like a fun game. Looking forward to it
y'know what? | |
Me and my mate Craig wont be going to uni for a while once this comes out...
Beautiful gameplay and nice explosions, but I have to agree with the OP. To limit one type of console gameplay to a specific store preorder is a bit lame. Ah well, PC it is then.
*hugs his PC* Sucks for you guys but at least you'll eventually be able to play it.
if this game was awoman, i would make love to it. still might either way.
You know I feel almost the same way when I watch the BFBC2 moments vidieos. OT: Hey like most preorder tactics is not really taking anything worth while away from the user. Though I will enjoy my free unlocks on the PC version (Tank armor, Radar, and a Tommy Gun.)
I'm excited for this. Probably going to be the coolest game of 2010. I was planning on getting it for the 360 but I just might have to get it for PC now...
I wish I could preorder this... I'm playing it on a PC, so it's not the extra stuff, I just REALLY want this game.
I really hope I'm better at this game than MW2, I mean c'mon can't I be good at ONE FREAKIN' multiplayer FPS or do I have to suck at all of them? Oh well, I'm still looking forward to it the campaign for the first one is a lot of fun. I hope they cut the size of the maps a bit because I cannot remember maps like other people and I get lost a lot, in BF1 I found myself killed while bumbling around the map like a drunk for the most part.
The battlefield series hasn't let me down yet, lets hope this game keeps that tradition.
I wonder... can we grenade a building and have the roof crush the people below? If so... then that is AWESOMESAUCE!
Ugh, I wish EA would stop being pricks about exclusive content. But it's effective, I guess.
What a shame...ah, the days of Red Faction when it first all appeared...made Multiplayer fun that was for sure!
Looks good, but no article on the single player video they released last week? Very odd the holding back content though.
I am currently in the beta for bad company 2 and I can confirm that environmental damage is ever so present in the game. Even better, it is sometimes crucial to destroy walls and what not to be able to win an objective. For example in a destroy a target map you can either plant the bomb and wait or take down the whole building(of course there is a good mix of destroyable points and non destroyable ones)
For all the hype about the destruction, it, in my time playing is pretty useless, and its a bit janky cause I don't think its procedural so you might hit a corner of a house and a hole will appear 4 ft to the side of it.
I am sad. | |
You are forgetting one thing. Snipers, campers and people turtling inside of buildings are now screwed, like in real life. They can no longer survive a mini-nuke simply by ducking behind a tree or behind a barricade. BARRICADE GETS DESTROYED WITH THEM!
I made a group for this game, if anyone's interested... (for any platform)
As long as BC2 doesn't have instant melee kills like MW2, it shall win my approval.
hang on a sec... ea have it the wrong way round, they have slightly screwed over the console version and (so far) not buggered up the pc version :D im happy, bought bloody time the pc community got some tlc
Fuuuuurb you're on PC or what? If you get it on PC we need to put a crack squad of kick-ass mofos together for squadrush.
All battlefield games so far have, but you dont move at the speed of greased lightning so it's not as bad. Mostly only happens to campers.
Perhaps, when my PC gets its new Hard Drive.
Wahey, team Ireland is a go.
Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Squad Rush is Explosion-Tastic
It would be a shame to build a game around an environmental destruction engine and then not put it to good use. Fortunately, if this trailer is any indication, that's exactly what Battlefield: Bad Company 2 is not doing.
The video you see above is the recently-unveiled trailer for Battlefield: Bad Company 2's "Squad Rush" mode, a gametype designed around short, sweet, and bloody matches, pitting two four-player squads against each other. Rounds of Squad Rush are intended to be fast and furious, as evidenced by the above video - which also happens to show lots and lots of wonderful environmental destruction. Mmm, environmental destruction.
The delicious blowing up of bunkers and huts and homes and anything else with walls and a roof isn't limited to Squad Rush alone, but the close-quarters combat really does seem to encourage it. It's a good thing, too, because Squad Rush will actually come as a timed GameStop preorder exclusive for the 360 and PS3 versions in North America - preorder the game, play Squad Rush a bit, wait a month before everyone else gets Squad Rush so you actually have a pool of players to play Squad Rush against. On the PC, though, it'll be unlocked from the start.
It seems slightly odd to be restricting an entire gametype to just people who preorder the game at a certain store, but that's what EA is doing. I liked the Battlefield 1943 method better myself, guys. Can't we go back to that?
