All you need to know about the Dead Rising movie trailer: It puts chainsaws on a wheelchair, it uses first-person camera, and it is completely incomprehensible.
I. Um, okay. I am really at a loss for words here, guys. I honestly have no idea what to make of this.
The above trailer comes from a page on the Capcom Japan website, and apparently details a low-budget film that looks to be about four people in a warehouse killing zombies with the cheesiest makeup and special effects you could imagine. I don't know what's going on, except there are first-person elements (at least Doom was based off of, you know, a first-person shooter) and then there's a scene where there are multiple weapons attached to a wheelchair including a chainsaw or five.
In fact, my initial hunch is that this isn't an actual movie trailer at all, but rather something that Capcom just threw together to promote the upcoming Dead Rising 2, since trailers have shown protagonist Chuck Greene slapping dual chainsaws-on-a-stick onto a motorcycle. At least, I hope it's not an actual movie trailer. Frankly, I don't know.
On the other hand, Joystiq informs us that the full title of the movie actually translates to "Death Disease Contamination Dead Rising," which is kind of an epic name for a film. Maybe they can reuse the title for an actual movie that doesn't look like it was put together in a week as a gag by Capcom employees.
Or maybe it wasn't. Maybe this is a real flick directed by Dead Rising big shot Keiji Inafune. I don't know anymore.
It's possible it might be a gag... I hope so anyway. Either that, or as swaki pointed out, maybe it's fanfic that Capcom's promoting.... at least I hope.
Touche. Pretend that e at the end is fancy. I don't know the alt-combination for that and I'm too damn lazy to open up the character map to look for it.

Alt + e, at least in the EU.
And wow, that was a terrible trailer. DEAD RISHING!
It looks like a bad, slightly higher than average movie, end of your student film with no relationship to the game, unless the Japanese version of this game is hugely different that what we got to play
Maybe it's just a meant to stir up some DR 2 game enthusiasm. A cheap web commercial with a viral outcome is a billion times more cost effective than a bland Tv commercial which costs tons...
if this is a gag I wouldn't be surprised; I will say if this were a real movie they at least have the sensibility to a) not take it seriously and b) have fun with it. Another hilarious Japanese zombie movie that's absolutely hilarious is Tokyo Zombie
