What was with all the swirly head parts with the white dude in the front. That honestly confused me.
This is the women's version you say? I'm confused. I think those guys are too.
I'm not sure they're all dudes.
Yeah there were at least 5 women in that video. Oh wait thats why all jrpg charactes look so feminin. If someone told me they get nervous around 10 year olds i think i might call the cops on them.
hahaha some one needs to translate that! the best part was the head swirl thing, like wtf? I want to know how that fits into the video!
That was too creepy, couldn't finish watching it. Seriously, those eyes...
That's how Japanese men woo you
This is absurd. I wish I could understand Japanese, because then it might make sense. And seriously, rotating trio. Also, note lack of minorities. Racism!
I want to second this. Metrosexualism taken slightly, slightly too far when you just can't be sure IMO. I mean, nothing wrong with cross-dressing, but I don't think that's their intention lol
Why are Japanese people so wierd? and Girly looking. The random American dude made me laugh so hard, same with the guy about to punch somone in the throat.
That was pretty hilarious. I have to see it again!
If some of them dressed in drag (like actually tried) I would probably be quite attracted to them.
this is....creepy to say the least.
HAHAHAHAHAH! i like japanese rpgs and stuff, and i don't think the (modern) stuff looks to girly, but that comment made me lol.
oh i liked the part where they were spinning around. Funky!
I like how the vaguely American looking fellow looks like he has no idea where he is.
Kids are creepy man, I'm not going out of my way to watch a video with one staring at me like I have a very delicious soul.
10 quid says he's not white. And it's about time. Shy Japanese women offend me, even though it's a popular stereotype that holds some weight about it.
Are Japanese women really that shy that they need to see random people staring at them to make them have better social skills? No one stares at you creeply when your having a conversation.
Well, to be honest there are always people with social anxiety and people trying to cater products to them to help with their problems. I don't think the idea of the product is to get women to pick these guys up, but more or less to feel more comfortable with them socially. The idea that they are somewhat creepy is probably the point, being the quintessential "guys that make you uncomfortable" (and here it's painfully obvious why). In the end, it's probably about as useful as "how to deal with difficult customers" themed training was for casino security in a practical sense when I did it. It appears they have a series of videos directed at all kinds of shy people, not just women so I don't think it has anything to do with a specific stereotype. As far as dealing with 10 year olds and such goes, that isn't as easy as you might think. I had to deal with some stuff on relating to kids as part of Code Adam training. Getting useful information from a kid like where his parents are, if that creep is bothering him or being unusually friendly, if someone touched him, or whatever can be touchy. Not to mention if say in an emergency you wind up watching a whole pack of kids temporarly from the day care, or arcade in an emergency (though this never happened). Oddly all of the "child molester" stuff out there has made people very wary of dealing with children for fear of someone other than the child misunderstanding (perhaps when relayed by the child after the fact), leading to a lot of people treating kids with kid gloves so to speak, which can be the wrong approach when you need them to respect you as an authority figure, or get information, or whatever. I'm not conveying it perfectly, but basically someone afraid to deal with a 10 year old might very well be afraid of dealing with a kid that age because of all the crud circulated by society. You might have a job to do, but a lot of people are afraid that even without doing something wrong they might be dealing with some wierd "the security guard touched me inappropriatly" thing after the fact with no real base behind it. Not a reasonable fear, but one that DOES exist.
You hit the nail on the head. I will now use my restraint and civility and choose not to make gay jokes. And I have so many of them, too...
It seems to me that a lot of Japanese people dress like the jonas brothers, it was weird.
Japan: Earth's #1 Provider of both "What The Hell" and "What The Fuck."
Can't say I am either. Japan's taking the androgynous movement a step too far, I think.
I could not stop laughing at all three of these videos. Though I was slightly frightened by the little girl... oh man I could watch them over and over and keep laughing. Great stuff guys
Lol. Thats fantastic. | |
That is pretty damn hilarious. I want one. Some of those guys were pretty hot. Most, I can pass on The guy in the bath robe is talking about `staying over`, he he, I woundn`t say no.
Whaaat the hell did i just watch?
I guess those skills could come in handy on a rady day *boom-tish*
Please tell me you're being sarcastic. There's no way you could put a guy down for insulting Japanese people trying to look like caucasians...or you could just be a troll.
"I used to get pretty nervous when I talked to 4th-graders, but thanks to Miteru Dake, now I don't even break a sweat." Haha... thats a great line. And these videos are a godsend... for those who need a laugh. EDIT: You can make fun of the Japanese guys... just not the girls... Japanese chicks a f'ing hot.
guess I am a troll then. because I am not sarcastic. The writer is sarcastic. and if he put down people for their looks in defarmatory description, I can put him down for being ingorant.
Dear lord! All the men in that video looked like Asian members of The Jonas Brothers... ...no wonder they had to make an instructional video for communicating with them...

Japanese DVD Helps Women Overcome Shyness With Creeps
Guys, it's time to take a backseat, this one's for the ladies.
Boing Boing has uncovered a video snippet of a Japanese DVD that is meant to help women become less shy when talking to men. The problem with the video is that the men are all a bunch of Creepy McCreepertons, but it's pretty hilarious watching anyway.
The quality of Japanese men appears to really be in the crapper. My personal favorites are sweaty-face guy, jughead lookalike, fancy-hair lumberjack, and oddly placed American dude. There's also giant mop-head, guy with strange earring, and one that looks like he's about to punch someone in the throat (see if you can find him). Women in Japan evidently also need help dealing with rotating trios of men.
On a serious note, the smug guy in the bathrobe kind of took my breath away. These DVDs (called Miteru Dake) have been around for a while, but I haven't seen the women's version before. The men's version gives the opportunity to get used to staring at women with an abundance of cleavage, and strangely also 10-year old girls. I used to get pretty nervous when I talked to 4th-graders, but thanks to Miteru Dake, now I don't even break a sweat.
