Heavy Rain Nude Shower Scene Also Leaked

image

A French website leaked over 6 minutes of what appears to be actual gameplay footage from Heavy Rain, including female Madison Paige taking a shower and peeing.

Several warnings must preface this post. Aside from the obvious spoiler warning, you should also know that the video discussed contains actual female nudity and is therefore not safe for work. Also, if you are uncomfortable with the sounds and images of a woman peeing, being attacked by masked men while wearing only underwear or, perhaps worst of all speaking French, then you should not follow this link. Heavy Rain is set to come out on February 23rd, but there will be a playable demo available on the 11th, according to Mike Kebby of the PlayStation EU Blog. It's possible that this is footage from the demo.

The footage hosted at Jeuxvideo shows more of how the game is played than the recently leaked video of the opening sequence. It looks like the player controls Madison's actions and can move about her apartment at will. Pressing up or down while standing near locations seems to play the corresponding animation. Pressing up or down by the clothes hanging on a chair will make Madison put on or take off said clothes, for example. Later, when there is a fight happening, it seems like pressing the correct floating buttons, like "X," will help Madison shake off her attackers.

All in all, the video does evoke suspense and atmosphere like a good movie should. The fight feels tense and, beyond being um, titillated, by the visuals, I'm impressed at how well the action is portrayed in this cinematic game. Designer David Cage may, in fact, be on to something. I can't speak to how the rest of the game will play, but I am very much intrigued by this snippet.

Also, boobies. That is all.

I wish I had a PS3.....

This game looks really good

EDIT: Also I wonder what would happen if you just didn't put your clothes back on

Is it just me, or do the faces seem vastly different from the video with the clown? They seem far more, well, real.

Nude female wrestling match perhaps. Also I couldn't help notice she didn't wash her hands after using the bathroom.

Seems tastefully done in my opinion.

By the way, I'm not one to judge, but over 1000 posts is quite a lot considering you've only been here for 18 days. That's about 61 posts a day.

Anyway, I wouldn't be surprised if it ended up being banned from Australia, and I'm sure the American ESRB won't like it much either.

Wtf? Who keeps leaking this stuff?

It's time to start firing execs.

Well. Looks like the Uncanny Valley comes equipped with a toilet. Congratulations?

I'm getting sick of hearing about this myself.

Cool, Seemed very cinematic. I like it.

Look again. He joined January 2009. It's 2010 now. He's been here a year...

Anyway, very nice trailer. Looking very good. And the gameplay isn't half bad either ;)

Wow... that has to be the most retarded chase scene ever. They use the exact same "Nah"'s "Bah"'s and "Tcha"'s so much it sounds like a 3 second porn video being looped.

The fight scene at the end was epic, other than that, I wish I had a PS3...

Congratulations, Mr Cage. You've included urination into a video game - something absolutely nobody wants to see or hear while playing. Screw good graphics, Heavy Rain is turning into a laughing stock for me before it even hits shelves.

That fight scene was very nicely done - it kept developing, seemed dynamic as to what would happen if you failed some of the commands, and the animations (being pre-done and presumably purpose made) made it look pretty damn natural.

My grip would be with the walking animation - it's so dead compared to the life of the various action animations, and the shift between the two really stands out for me.

Then again, I don't have a PS3, so what do I care ;)

well, I have a feeling the PS3 will get sold to a lot more 13-16 year olds now. but the game looks like a psychological thriller(insert thriller dance here) now, which is better than what I was thinking(cutscenes where you press a button every now and again). the video was going slow for me, probably my computer being in America and the video coming all the way from France.

I think it already has its M-rating in the USA, doesn't it? As far as I'm concerened, the Australians don't have any problems with nudity, or do they?

I'm not going to watch the video, though :( I don't want the slightest bit of spoiling in this one.

Am I the only one who went:

"EEeeyaargghhh! Uncanny Valley!"

Just like in the graph. I'd probably prefer if she was less life-like simply because she's not life-like enough that I recognize her as fully human.

Looks very compelling.

In all seriousness though, I liked the gameplay. It looks well done, both the combat and what came before. I hope she doesn't just talk English with a French accent when the game comes out though. Also, couldn't they have given the assassins some different features? At first I thought there was only one, but he had mastered teleportation.

I definitely fell headlong into the uncanny valley here

News just in; entire game footage of Heavy Rain leaked.

WTF is going on over there?

Not that this shower scene is why but this game is the first that makes me want a ps3.

This is 2010 you know...

Yeah, this is getting banned in Australia.

OT: I'm not voicing an opinion anymore on this game until I get to play it.

She sure has some moves, it seems people in Heavy Rain have all taken self-defense classes.

Wow, that looked really cool. And now I'm so very glad that I took French in high school ;)

I bet this will be Yahtzee's GOTY will the entire scene being a sequence of quick time events. Im alright with the occasional quick time event but this is just over the top. No thanks.

YESSSS!!!!! Finally video games get serious! This is what Mass Effect 2 needed to be a perfect 10/10!

I thought everyone hated quick time events.

Wow, that looks like the most boring game I have ever seen, and I use the term lightly. I have insulted the concept of this game form day one, and have found no reason not to insult it more.

My biggest complaints:
-Crappy graphics
-The gameplay is essentially only quicktime events
-It is an interactive movie
-If you just watched that scene, you'll agree with me if I say that game is real life + criminals and conspiracy. Why throw in her going through her nightly routine? WHO CARES? I don't want to watch her take a birth control pill, shower, pee, admire herself in the mirror- I can do all those things in real life!(ok, I would admittedly mess up my hormonal balance big time if I took a BCP, but you get my point I'm sure) What is the point of Escapism if you are emulating actual life?
-Everyone is making a big fuss about showing boobs. This has really disappointed me. I thought the mean average maturity in the world adult population was above that of an 8 year old, but I guess not. I would be disappointed if anyone made a fuss about showing genitals, but that at least is SLIGHTLY more understandable than being upset about breasts!

This game is bad news for the industry, and even worse news as a game indicative of where we are going as a medium.

EDIT: Among the criticism for my criticism: Heavy Rain is a POSITIVE step for the industry to take, that the boring bits are all there to set the mood(which I agree with in hindsight), and I am forgetting most of the others. Unless you have something to add that HAS NOT been added, please don't quote spam me kthxbai

Good, I'm not the only one who noticed.

To be honest, I've always liked them. It was only when I started watching Yahtzee did I notice people did not like them. And by people, I mean Yahtzee. I haven't really heard "mere mortals" speak of their opinions on the matter.

Intresting...well, certainly a level of realism and grounding in there. I like how it works, really, really cool.

Well, I mean, I've always hated them. It's one of the many reasons SW: The Force Unleashed was ruined for me.

Congrats Greg, you have made my Quote of the Day.

OT: While that was cool and all, some of the movements and such didn't seem very fluid and nipped at the Uncanny Valley.
