Get Five Great Indie Games for Any Price You Want

Five independent game developers have come together to create the Humble Indie Bundle, a collection of five awesome games that you can buy for whatever price you want. (And donate to charity in the process!)

"Pay What You Want" sales are great things. For those who may be unfamiliar with the phenomenon, it's a pretty simple concept: Game makers put their product on sale and you get to pick the price. Indie hits World of Goo and Crayon Physics have both given it a try and at least in the case of World of Goo, it seemed to work out pretty well.

But the new Humble Indie Bundle takes it a step further by offering not just one game at any price you'd care to name, but five - and they aren't sucko pieces of crap, either. The bundle includes World of Goo, Aquaria, Gish, Lugaru and Penumbra Overture, all for the low, low price of whatever the hell you want to pay.

And that's not all! Some or all (or none, if you're that kind of person) of the bundle's price can be directed to the Electronic Frontier Foundation and/or Child's Play; the payment can be divided into any proportions the buyer wants.

Four out of five of these games are pretty damn good (I've never played Lugaru, but it looks pretty groovy) and putting them together in a bundle and letting people slap their own price tag on it is just mind-bogglingly awesome. Of course, there will always be cheapskates who take advantage of these deals for their own benefit, but they suffer for it later, tossing and turning through sleepless nights, consumed by guilt over their tight-fisted ways. Don't be one of them! A deal this good deserves some real love, so give it up at wolfire.com/humble.

I love Aquaria so much. Don't pass this up, any of you!

btw, World of Goo had a MASSIVE piracy rate. I think I heard it was around 90%.

5 games for a penny why not.

WOO! awesome song!

Also awesome games, i will pay 5 dollars for my copy (i already own 3 of them and lugaru doesn't like its something for me) and 15 for my brothers, yay for gifts.

or you know, for 1 dollar, i think paypals cut is 1 or 10 cents, so any less and the creators and charity's wont get anything.

I was actually about to go in there and say 0 dollars, but then I felt so guilty I couldn't go through with it. Damn you, charity sales!
I'll get around to getting this pretty soon I hope.

It's only on sale for a week? Aww! I wouldn't feel right giving less than $20, and I don't get paid until next friday. Such the moral dilemma.

Exactly, if you put a product up for a penny thats what i'll pay. I have no interest in supporting a company solely on my charity lol.

Lol, I just read about it on their webpage. How awesome it got this kind of coverage!

Well I hope that my credit card payment goes through on time on Friday, because this is something I can support

My sense of gamer unity overtook my general ability to be a dick, so I paid something worthwhile.

I don't have a PayPal account...

Brb, off to see how easy it is to set up a paypal account.

It's really easy... It just makes it so that you make lots more impulsive purchases. Like this one, damn it. At least it's for a good cause.

LUGARU. yes have look every were for that i will by.
i do all ready own world of goo but sins its for charity

hehe, thats ptetty epic! Goes to show its not all about the money, but fun too!

Such a good deal, and they all play on mac

Damn it! I already own and love all these games (except Lugaru, need to google search to find out what that is). I think I might just end up gifting them to friends anyway.

Right before I depart upon a trek of epic proportions with my maiden mactop. Perfect timing.

I think I'm not going to buy these games just out of spite for making me listen to a keytar solo.

Aquaria is pretty awesome, though.

Haha I like what happens if you put in less then a dollar, Ah I'll give them a dollar then I guess thats like 50 pence.

Love what these indie guys are doing. Anyone who enjoyed the gameplay design from Super Metroid should check out Aquaria.

Just bought this baby twice. Awesome deal.

Supporting indies is cool...

But I already got my eye on VVVVVV as the indie title to get. And If I buy any of these other games, I'd like to give more than just a few dollars....my conscience and all :/

I have to transfer some funds from my bank account to paypal so I can donate more than $3. Luckily, the promo appears to have 6 days left. Looks like both a killer deal and a good cause.

Aha, I have a paypal handy, so, I shall donate money generously. They deserve it.

I really want this but I don't want to go to the trouble of setting up a PayPal account, also I don't really have the cash to buy anything right now because I'll be buying Red Dead Redemption when it comes out and I want to have some cash in reserve after that.

I'd pay nothing but I'd feel pretty shitty about it. Damn, I might just wind up not getting this, oh well.

I'd seriously give em $60 if i had it.
All i have is $2 though :/

Is there a time limit on this?

For the moment i'll be giving them barely anything, but if the offers still on in a month or 2 i'll throw in a bit more.

The offer lasts a week, so six more days after today.

So happy about this. Gish and World of Goo are FANTASTIC games. The others I have yet to play, but they look awesome. I'm totally gifting this to all my friends.

I know, I was going to do the same thing, but then I saw that picture and just couldn't do it.

This looks like a tempting offer... But I already have World of Goo, I didn't like the Gish demo, and Penumbra Overture didn't run on my computer (although I've been looking to upgrade lately). I think I'll still buy it.

Hmmm... Do I get anything for offering the lowest unique price? I should!

I could; but it wont let me
So technically, you cant pay what you want as I want to pay nothing

I would have paid more but all I had was a dollar in my paypal account(and I couldn't pass up this chance), also I already own world of goo at full retail price. so I'll give this version to my parents they like this sort of game.

I paid a penny for crayon physics when they did theirs, I've actually slept better since then. Good thing I was so cheap too, I didn't find it very fun. I enjoyed world of goo so I was rather shocked. (which by the way i paid full price for goo)

Awesome find. Thank you for the link.
I gifted it to a friend and paid the average donation price (7.50 at the moment).
