Alleged Breach Thief Has First Day in Court

image

A gamer accused of trying to steal downloadable shooter Breach at this year's PAX East has appeared in court.

Remember this? 20 year old Justin D. May allegedly liked Breach at PAX East so much that he tried to steal it, and then, when his court date arrived, he skipped it, opting to play Modern Warfare 2 instead.

For his second court date, however, he was gracious enough to attend and has entered a plea of not guilty, although according to Jake Wark , a Suffolk County District Attorney press secretary, that's due to the way the Massachusetts court system works, and a "not guilty plea is automatically entered at arraignment."

May's next court date is June 27th, when he and his counsel plan to file a motion to have the case dismissed. Breach is scheduled for release this summer, and you can see a preview of it here

Dude... your toast. I can't see anyway he can get out of this well.

Calumon: Maybe with magic?

I'm sorry, but I find this kinda hilarious!

Ooh, can I do one of those CSI Miami moments that are all the rage?

Well I guess this thief... has breached the law. Yeah etc.

Honestly though, what kind of layabout is he if he was playing CoD instead of appearing in court? Not a smart move.

Heh, I think I like that guy. He's so unconventional, gives a good "Fuck you society" message.

What's this whole "Breach" vidjagame? Is it even that good?

Shouldn't he have been sent to jail for that? I'm pretty sure that the law says you get an arrest warrant put on you if fail to apppear for the scheduled court date.

Well, when your accused of stealing from Atomic *puts on sunglasses* things get nuclear.

I'd have done a Breach joke, but someone already did it...

dont steal shit... what a moron

...he went not-guilty? He is aware of whats going to happen now...?

Well, I wish him all the best with the massive fine he is gonna get...

It's a downloadable multiplayer-only shooter with one of, if not THE absolute, most impressive destruction engine ever.

If he has a good enough lawyer, I'm pretty sure he'll succeed in getting it dismissed. He's probably going to lie through his teeth about his intentions, but since nothing came of the whole incident (whatever this kid was allegedly doing caused no loss other than legal fees at this point). I have a feeling the kid is going to walk.

I find this article just hilarious. Now that is a hardcore gamer right there, not the ones playing Farmville.

If the judge issues a bench warrant, yup. And if you fail to appear they can do exactly that. It is at the judge's discretion though, it's not an automatic do not pass go, do not collect $200.

I highly doubt the case is going to get dismissed. I hope he gets a really harsh punishment for doing what he did and for also not going to his first court date.
