Worldwide Connectivity Leaked For Pokémon Black & White

image

Pokémon Black & White is going to take players worldwide, but not just to trade.

Details from a future issue of Japan's Coro Coro Comics have leaked, revealing a new online play mode for Pokémon Black & White. The details also reveal a totally new professor, in more ways than one, and information on seven new Pokémon.

Pokémon Black & White will not only feature never before seen 3D graphics, but also a "Random Match" mode that connects players for online battling, accessed through the game's Pokémon Center. When Pokémon Black & White are eventually released outside of Japan in spring 2011, this mode will allow for worldwide online play. This might not be the Pokémon MMOG fans have been clamoring for, but it's a step in the right direction.

The new features don't stop there. Pokémon Black & White will reportedly feature the series' very first female professor. Professor Araragi has lady parts and will give players their starting Pokémon and Pokédex. She's researching Pokémon in the Isshu region, just in case you were wondering.

Seven Pokémon to be featured for the first time in Black & White were also covered, including Munna, a "big pink beach ball," Shimama, whose lightning attack is so powerful it'll even harm itself, and Professor Araragi's prized Chirami, a Chinchilla Pokémon with giant ears. The other four Pokémon and more details are available over at Andriasang, with scans available at Pokebeach

A "big pink beach ball"....

Really?

Tom Goldman:
Chirami, a Chinchilla Pokémon with giant ears.

I've said this every time I've seen it and I'll say it again. It's Cute, I want it. Badly.

Calumon: Who put that mirror as the image? Oh right, Chirami. ^^ I want it too!

Wait til you see the Gear Pokémon.

Calumon: It's called Gear.

Finally!! A crocodile!! I know Totodile and it's evolutions have been there for a long time but still!

Bah in my day we had 151 pokemon and if you wanted to play together you had to get a load of wires plugged in and sacrifice a goat to Nintendo.

You young uns have it so easy nowadays.

Amen. Was fun though but god it lost interest so fast when DBZ popped up. the streets were empty when it was on air.

If you have an Isshu, here's a Tisshu

Also just stop, Pokemon died for me a long time ago

Noo! They broke the chain of tree-based names for the professors! And now have opted a name after a butterfly!

What the bloody hell are those Pokemons on the cover?

One looks like a retarded son of a monkey who had buttsex with a squirrel of some sort, and then there's....

A BUBBLEGUM BALL?! A PINK TURTLE WITHOUT A SHELL? A SNAIL ON LEGS!?

SamuelT:

I know! I am so disappointmented. Also ninja'd my post, curses.

surely they've run out of shapes by now.... and clever names to go with thoses shapes... 'Munna, a "big pink beach ball,"' seems to prove my point :P

They look terrible.

I long for some cataclysmic event that wipes out all existence of Pokemon beyond Gold and Silver. But I realise that might be pushing it a bit.

Yuss! My first ever ninja strike!

Interesting..
This just sounds better and better !_!

Do you hear that? It's the sound of millions of 30 year old Pokemon enthusiasts purring in ecstasy!

More like the sound of butt-hurt fanboys complaining because it isn't the first generation.

Yeah, cool cool.

But uh... how about having the games support WPA keys. So I can actually get online.

I have so many damn pokemon in soulsilver that need to evolve through trading. But I can't trade with anyone because it doesn't support WPA connections.

On the topic of the new info: Sounds interesting, but after seeing the new pokemon... just damn...

I know, the new pokemon look horrible (and that's not a wah wah it's not gen I rant, they really do. I happen to think Gen 4 was the best) but... worldwide connectivity...
I'm now officially on the fence

Munna is a pink Aron, and Chirami is a less cute version of Calumon. I'm sure if we rated Pokémon designs from each generation, we'd find that they get less well-made every time. Everything in Gen 1 was iconic, Gen 2 had silly mistakes like Stantler but was pretty good, Gen 3 started to slip with guys like Chimecho and Baltoy, Gen 4 has tons of badly designed, not-notable Pokémon, and all of the Gen 5 Pokémon seem really bland to me. I have hopes for the Grass-type starter, but otherwise all of the new designs have just been slightly modified old designs. [/rant]

Whoa whoa whoa.

What your telling us here is that their actually going to change something about the game this time???

THATS AMAZING!

It died for you; therefore, the new generation of young gamers should not experience the series?

These Pokemon are so cute they make you want to strangle something.

Let it go, man. Some people don't know how to ignore nostalgia.

OT: I like how this is turning out. It'll be nice to get a game on the day it comes out for once.

I still love pokemon after all these years, even though the last two games have been fairly boring and I havent even beaten HeartGold's Pokemon League yet, but I'm looking forward to this next game.

The gear and pink-thing pokemon look REALLY stupid, I mean even I was tolerant of last generation's pokemon, but I absolutely HATE these two. I don't even know how the Gear one will move in a battle! But, there is a glimmer of hope for me. That crocodile pokemon....I LOVE CROCODILES and I can tell just by looking at it that its evolution is gonna be badass. (It BETTER have an evolution or else I will fireball Nintendo.) So far Tyranitar has been my favorite pokemon for years, but this guy just might give it a run for its money for my top spot. :)

just how long is it gonna take to "catch'em all" this time? imagine how many there gonna be a few years down the line...

At the top left: Metal Gear Pokemon.

Gears of Pokemon.

Lame, but I just wanted to get in there before we ran out of hilarious game name based "Gear" puns.

You two have pretty much just summed up my childhood (along with everyone else of a similar age, I know)

Professor Araragi? That better be mis-translated or renamed by the time it comes out here.

Come on! Professor Willow? Professor Spruce? We need trees! [1]

Also, I like that Chinchilla... and the Pidgey pigeon. Lot of City based Pokemon this generation so far...
... and whatever category that Pink Dream Eater and Water Starter fall in to.

[1] ... for our Puns.

Is it me or do the Pokemon keep getting uglier?

More like the sound of butt-hurt fanboys complaining because it isn't the first generation.

More like the groan of many fans because they are using a character you will rarely interact with as a selling point merely because they decided to change it's gender.
