Dating Sim Girls Dump Pirates Pages PREV 1 2 3 4 5 6 NEXT
Trolling DRM - the way to go.
This is excellent! Creative DRM 1, Ubisoft 0
Pretty awesome stuff this DRM.
I wonder how many legit customers these type of shenanigans also turn away?
yar har, fiddly dee! | |
I'm curious how many actual dollars are actually lost to Piracy. For instance, how many people who wouldn't have purchased this game are going to purchase it now? If the amount of income gained from this sort of thing is less than the cost to insert this code into the game, then I'm not entirely sure the Pirates are the ones with egg on their face.
This is why you don't pirate because girls will not like you.
... I... o.. well... Nice comeback. Alright, you won this round. I'll give you that.
While I love this idea(next time have the pirated version turn all the girls into fat hairy men ^_^)I'm kind of confused at all the dating sim hate in this thread. I've never played a "true" dating sim, but a bunch of really popular RPGs(Mana Khemia, Star Ocean, Persona, Mass Effect, Dragon Age etc)use dating sim elements and those are tons of fun.
That's probably much more similar to their real life experiences, though... This was really funny to read!
I once tried a few dating sims. All the ones I've tried were just boring. The girls were really easy, all you had to do was show up on the same places almost everyday and then they'd love you foreverandever. You had to answer questions too... but the right one was mostly easy to spot. I know there are some in which you have to buy gifts... I also played a dating sim in which you were a girl and had to find a boyfriend. It was a bit more challenging since all the dialogues were in japanese and I had no idea what I was saying to the guys. Oh. And I had to choose an outfit for each date, which would affect the guy's opinion. Anyway, I think the games become boring really easily... I agree is a good idea when there are other things to do (like fight monsters or something...), but if it's just dating... boring. But it must be really interesting to some.
Lol. Even better than the Batman DRM that makes pirates simply fail. How about some DRM that attacts the user's self esteem?
Being a pirate is free, but it don't fly well with the ladies...
That is the best thing I've heard all day. And considering tomorrow is in 15 minutes, that's saying something. Now, we get to see how many people sheepishly pay up the money. I just need to figure out the Japanese word equivalent for "whipped"...
I've only gotten to one, so far, but it's not too bad. I have a couple more besides that on my playlist. 'Course, I'm pretty sure the one is abandonware, and I paid money for the other two. Piracy is wrong if you have a choice.
The effort is the point. They're games. The one I'm playing right now feels more like a weirdly-focused puzzle RPG than anything. Hell, the one in the news post isn't even pornographic.
I laughed so hard when I read the news. I can just imagine a bunch of guys steamed about their virtual girlfriends giving them the boot because of the DRM.
Nothing says "I'm a loser" quite like whining that your virtual girl won't let you get to first base because you were too cheap to pay for it.
Not sure if I should laugh over the brilliantly funny DRM or cry for the poor smucks who need a dating sim...
Or the pirates could, you know, get real girlfriends.
Ah that's a win if I ever saw one. "Hey baby you wanna party? Then quit bein a bitch and pay for shit you use!"
Batman: Arkham Asylum also had creative DRM. The earlier hacks had the glide ability disabled, preventing you from pretty much finishing the game. Even the best version of the crack, by the group RELOADED, which has full functionality in terms of Batman's arsenal and techniques, has PhysX disabled, so you still don't get the full gameplay experience.
I don't know what's worse. Pirating the game then going no-where. -OR- Or going into a store and having to look the clerk in the eye as you place the game on the counter to buy it. Either way, embarrassment ensues.
Haha, that's just fantastic. Kudos to that developer.
Fucking DS piracy. This is how you do it. Next, Pokemon Black & White pirates should never be able to leave the starting town. Have a guy stand there while you go speak to the newest professor, and then have him stay when he should be gone!
Aww come on. Its a japanese dating game. There has to be a "rape them" option.
Amazon.com OT: It's worth a developer's time to look at any form of DRM that draws praise from both camps. Incidentally: Telling someone who plays dating sims to get a girlfriend makes as much sense as telling someone who plays Halo to join the army. Don't be ignorant, people.
So all Japanese products featuring sexual themes must include rape?
All dating sims yes. Do not be so obtuse. Its not funny in the slightest.
I was not trying to be humorous.
Heh, would YOU want to be caught buying it...?
I think it is a great idea.
I'm a pirate and I find that FUNNY AS HELL. Now, did this come out in english, cause I'm a very lonely pirate.
Genius...pure genius.
Double fail. First, you have to be such a loser to even consider playing these kind of games, and then you can't even get a sim girlfriend. Awesome DRM
this will probably be one of the only times i enjoy drm to access a games content. fucking brilliant

I coulden't stop laughing all day...
But on a more serious note, I don't look forward to the suicides...
