Now, don't get me wrong, here. As anyone who has looked at my desk knows, I enjoy building little plastic Gundam models as much as the next guy. But the big problem with the models - as with any plastic model - is this: What do you do with all the little plastic racks that hold the parts when you're done? You have quite a lot of debris left over, and if you don't throw it out, it just takes up space.
Me, I just throw it all out. But these Japanese fans got creative with their Gundam model leftovers. They stockpiled it from model after model, and when they had enough? Why, they used it to create a bigger Gundam model.
This RG (Recycle Grade) model of the iconic RX-78-2 Gundam mobile suit stands 10 feet tall, posed in the famous "Last Shooting" stance from the end of the first series (albeit with head and other arm intact). It reportedly took 250 man-hours over 95 days to put together, and will be on display at the Chara Hobby show in Tokyo this weekend.
It may not be life-sized, but that doesn't make it any less cool. Plus, it's recyclable. I can only hope that when we actually get around to making mobile suits for use in combat, they're as eco-friendly as this.
Palademon: They have a suprising amount of yellow left over. But anyway, awesome.
If anything yellow and blue would have been the hardest to come across.
The Procrastinated End: Soon they're going to be making Gundams that actually work, and even when they're conquering the world it will still be fucking awesome.
Evilsanta: OMG!That is so fucking awesome! It seems they can even build mechas out of trash. When will they come with functioning mechas though? I want one...
I think you both might like these pictures to tide you over until we get working MobileSuits.

To get completely nerdy on you, the RX-78 should be missing its head, and left arm.
OT: I love that thing, and I know there's a youtube video showcasing it, but I can't seem to find it. >.>
Blue, really? Almost every "main" Gundam (you know, the Wing, the Freedom, the Zeta, the Exia) comes with at least one or two entire runners made of blue, that I've found.
Or they could have just bought a lot of Tieren Space Type/Kampfer kits :P

I make that statement because out of my PG GP01 I only got 5 runners of blue which struck me by surprise, but I suppose with the amount of RX-78's, SF's and 00's... You know what, just reduce it to "yellow would be hard to find".
This thing belongs in a museum ,or an art gallery. Seriously, a complete Gundam made from obsolete empty sprunes, it's deep man. This is art if I ever saw one.
Huge Gundam Model Made from Gundam Model Trash
What do you do with all of the plastic detritus left over from building your Gundam models? You use it to build an even bigger Gundam model.
